The Upper West Side (or the Upper Westside) refers to the northwestern portion of Atlanta situated between I-75 and I-285. The Upper West Side is brimming with an array of historic neighborhoods, including larger communities like Riverside, Bolton, and Whittier Mill Village. The region is also convenient to neighboring Vinings and Buckhead, which are both teeming with various area employers.
The Upper West Side is a region on the rise, with plenty of new development in the works in addition to community mainstays such as B’s Cracklin’ Barbeque and assorted breweries like Scofflaw Brewing Company, Atlanta Brewing Company, and Second Self Beer Company.
The community is also home to Whittier Mill Park, the former site of Whittier Cotton Mill offering historic ruins and scenic trails to explore alongside the Chattahoochee River. The Upper West Side’s convenient locale, growing amenities, and overall peaceful atmosphere makes it a top choice for renters in the Atlanta area.

Property Ratings at Theory Interlock
Very modern and sleek love the design and make of my apartment. If I could do half stars it would be a 4.5 just because of all the nat issues I've had but other than the place looks amazing and I'm excited to use the amenities!
The rooms are clean, all the appliances are nice, and even the studio rooms are spacious. I also enjoy the different places to eat near the complex. Last but not least, the electronic locks on the unit door definitely helps secure my room.
Every time I stopped by before move in, the staff was extremely helpful and informative, and it really helped ease my nerves about moving off campus.
I will say I wasn't impressed by the customer service. Not one single of my emails were answered. Every time I called for office hours, they would tell me different things, not to mention the very rude manager.
Theory is fine but the 7th floor is often very loud, especially on weekends. I usually get security sent to my room while I’m sleeping, because they can’t properly locate where all the loud noise is coming from.
very easy leasing process. the rooms are very nice and spacious. the closet is even better the closet is very big and the mirror is very big and nice
I had a great experience here. The staffs were nice, and they tried to help us. The maintenance service might be seemed a little bit slow, but it was overall okay.
Love it here! This apartment comes with wonderful facilities like a gym, pool, study spaces, and other common areas. The staff here is also wonderful.
I am not a resident yet but I am excited to become one. I took multiple tours of the dorms and building and was very impressed of everyone’s friendliness and the amenities.
The place is like home everything always clean and they try they best to make everything good the little things they do for us be so cool and nice
Terrible communication from management, noisy, dirty, not a single amenity works as promised, broken elevators, broken doors, WiFi not working, terrible uncaring management and extremely overpriced rental amounts.
I love my apartment, I just wish there was a bit more communication between the administrative offices and the people who live in the building.
Wow! This place sucks. This is the second student apartment I have lived at (the first being Reflection Student Apartments on GSU’s campus). Reflection had just finished being built and I actually had a pretty good experience there. Theory Interlock, though? The customer service there is just PURE AWFUL. The workers are rude. Also, they would spam me with emails and texts about my rent being due and how they’d charge me extra EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY PAID ON TIME. Also, much of the apartment wouldn’t be available while I was living there. For example, the elevators needed construction so I couldn’t use it for an entire semester?? Also, the parking garage doors (I paid for the pricey parking) and the FRONT ENTRANCE DOORS CONSTANTLY needed fixing and wouldn’t work if I needed to get inside early in the morning. Please just live at a different apartment. If you’re looking to live here, you can certainly afford to live somewhere better.
It's an okay place to live but I would recommend elsewhere. Rooms are a good size and the furniture is okay. However, it's frustrating because we were lied to about several amenities including recycling & composting services, a grocery store, free coffee in the lobbies, etc. The doors are always broken and there is no maintenance/cleaning staff. There was a urine stain and stench in the stairwell and there is always trash in the halls. The staff is not good either. The officer workers / management NEVER responds to my emails. There is also a security team which do nothing but get paid to sit around all day. It's truly frustrating and NOT worth the high rent price.
Lease signing and move-in process was more arduous than need be, doors are all busted and main elevator is down, and some dumb and unnecessary move-in fees
Since the complex has just been built I’m giving grace however, if after a full year there isn’t a set structure along with organized responses and accurate information this rating will change. Often times it feels like the place is falling apart but it’s just constantly in construction.
I loved everything about this place the tour was amazing looking forward to move in soon ! Everything was so informative I loved the common, pool area the most
Look, Theory is fine but it is tedious. Right now I am living in Theory’s “construction phase” which means not everything in up to date: The elevator is sometimes inoperable, the front doors sometime don’t let you come in even with a key, and the walls are a bit thin. But, it is in a great part of Midtown and the rent isn’t too outrageous.
Pros: nice amenities (gym, pool, shuttle buss) Big room (queen size bed, walk-in closet ) Friendly staff Cons: The place can be noisy sometimes Management and maintenance (it’s gotten much better compared to when I moved in but still needs improvement)
I am enjoying my experience living at Theory Interlock. I not only enjoy my apartment, but I have also had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people while living here.
This is a great area to live. I personally love Midtown and its community. The rooms and facilities are also very nice and updated. I'm looking forward to staying here next semester!
I like it here, but of course, because it is a new building, there are some kinks in the system. The doors have issues a lot of the time and maintenance requests can take a hot minute. Also, there aren't any pet waste receptacles around and people dont clean up after their pets. Other than that I like the distance from Tech and the gym. I also like that it is kind of in the middle of a lot of things so i never have to drive very far to get places.
Living here is truly a dream come true. The sense of community and camaraderie among the residents is something that is hard to find elsewhere. From block parties to neighborhood clean-up days, everyone here is always willing to lend a helping hand and support one another. It's a place where neighbors truly care about each other, and that sense of connection is something that I treasure every day. Not only are the people amazing, but the service in this area is top-notch. From the friendly faces at the local grocery store to the prompt response of the maintenance team, everything is always taken care of quickly and efficiently. It's reassuring to know that there are people looking out for you and willing to go the extra mile to ensure your comfort and happiness.
Experience getting help in order to move in was a 10/10 my tour guide person was very informative and my place is really great. The building is very quiet & cozy
I just recently signed my lease here. The staff was there to help me signing my lease and answered any questions I might have had. Their community is really friendly. I can't wait until the grocery store gets there too! I can tell this an awesome place and great staff! Everyone should definitely come tour Theory Interlock. Thank you!
Theory Interlock is like having the perfect apartment where everything fits together just right. It makes life easier and more fun, blending ideas and spaces in cool, useful ways.
I love theory for its location and amenities. They apartments and rooms are spacious and have an en suite bathroom which is really nice. All the appliances are also great.
I love theory! This is exactly the type of apartment building and community that I had in mind when I started thinking about where I wanted to live.
The location is amazing, the cleanliness and care for residents is a huge concern though. I would only recommend this apartment for the area, and definitely feel like the security, conditions, and peacefulness could use improvements.
awesome signing process, cant wait to live here. was able to call amd ask questions with clear responses and take a tour of the beautiful facility
I love it here and I renewed my lease thank you! The amenities and the area are very nice and I like how it is just students . It's a safe environment and I recommend it
I like the apartment building. But not only that, the customer service is amazing! They’re phone service is very efficient and they helped answer my questions effectively!
I love the building, the staff, the amenities and the neighborhood that it is in. It’s a very quiet and convenient neighborhood so there is access to a lot.
Love walking around and trying new restaurants behind the apartment. There’s a lot of mini shops and boutiques. Right next to Puttshack and 5 minutes from Atlantic Station. Such a good surrounding area.
Great time! I enjoyed living here and taking advantage of the amazing location. I was able to get to class quickly and there was no issues even though construction was still being done.
I like the apartment, but there's no guest parking. The people working the front office are easy to talk to and accessible. Also, I enjoy the apartment location because it is close to a plethora of restaurants in walking distance.
a few walls were left un-painted other then that cool place! It is in a good location and easy to navigate, rooms are a good size and kitchen is great.
Overall, my experience has been amazing. I love the neighborhood and my proximity to campus. I will say that I wish there were more options for transportation like a shuttle that goes to the AUC and not just Georgia Tech
Lots of problems especially with appliances, noice is very loud from the parking lot with cars and people at night time. Other than that its fine.
It’s a great area and everything is so convenient like you 5 mins away from the Georgia tech campus and there are so many food options that’s in walking distance
Apartment design and layout are nice. The price is very high given the location and having to share an apartment. The safety of the area is also questionable.
great place to live, clean, and they listen to concerns if u go to the front desk. ofc neighbors can be loud but that’s everywhere. my only issue is that there is LITERALLY no guest parking. u can’t pay for it, u can’t register a car to park, it just doesn’t exist. which makes inviting people over hard
I like the place , my flatmates are nice and the upkeep is easy. Having a gym and a pool in the same building is really nice and convenient.
It's been really good so far. When I had some problems the managers where so nice and they tried to help fixing them really quickly. I am really enjoying living here so far.
I love that it’s a new build so everything in the building is luxurious and fresh! However, I do believe that the structure is unorganized and it seems that we are being overcharged for everything we go through here.
Amazing and attentive staff who care about their staff, amazing amenities and an overall nice community. Theory Interlock provided me with a nice living space and comfortable place to call my home.
Theory Interlock is fantastic! Convenient location, vibrant atmosphere, and responsive management. Amenities enrich student life, and the apartment is modern and comfy. Inclusive community events foster connections. Overall, it enhances my college experience, providing a safe, supportive, and enjoyable home. Maintenance can be slow, though.
I enjoy the unit I’m living in, especially because of the organized closet layout, ample storage space, included tv, and nice kitchen appliances. I do live on the west side where the noise from the street near Interlock can be loud. Amenities are nice but could be more well maintained. I also sometimes face issues with the key fobs not working for the gym/pool area.
Overall my experience has been great. The management team is very responsive and knowledgeable when I call with questions. The building is kept very clean and communications are timely.
I like that people can gather or stay by themselves if they want to. The facilities are well maintained and I like the location of the building. It's right next to a lot of restaurants.
