Property Ratings at Thomas Apartments
I am moving out after 4 years because the quality and service at Avalon 4121 has declined drastically. Management refuses to enforce community policies and tenants are disrespectful of their neighbors with regard to noise, smoke and trash. Even though this is supposed to be a non-smoking building, secondhand smoke travels through the vents from residents who smoke in their units. Problem tenants have also disabled the front gate lock and attracted crime to this building resulting in multiple break-ins and thefts. This is building is trashy and unsafe.
I've really loved the fact that I can be on a quiet street and about three small blocks away lies the epicenter of Studio City. Walking to the Farmers Market, Grocery Stores & Restaurants has really been special. I got to celebrate 4th of July with family & friends watching the best fireworks in the city outside on my balcony. Try to get an apartment that doesn't directly look into CBS Radford's parking garage..for privacy. Its small square footage for the price, but its sleek with a nice design & floor plan. The price has increased but if you have the money to afford it.. its a great place to live.
Overall living at Avalon has been a rewarding experience; having great neighbors and being a part of a community of people in a bustling city. I have been able to look out my window at CBS Radford and see actors filming action scenes suspended off the building (who needs TV?). Also living close enough to walk to the grocery stores & restaurants saves me money in gas & in Uber!
When the time came to finally get the opportunity to move to LA, I knew there was only one challenge standing in my way, and that was finding the perfect place to live. I must have searched and viewed over 25 different apartment complexes before finding Avalon Studio 4121. I had a list of items that were necessity and a list of things that would be deal breakers. It was such a relief to find a place that had a safe parking garage, secure doors and stairs, storage space, fully equipped appliances, a workout facility, walk ability and a friendly office staff. Of course you get what you pay for and the only downside is the high cost in rent. I would be lying if I didn't bother me, but the cost of finding a great place is always worth it in the long run.
Been living here for almost 3 years and the place has gone down since Archstone took over. The location is the best thing it has going for it. Otherwise I would recommend looking elsewhere. Staff only cares about bringing in new residents, not the residents that live there.
