Property Ratings at Thomas Lake Pointe
I submitted a request to tour with date and time, never received any response. I followed up with a phone call and voicemail (as the call was not answered), never received a response to that either. If this company is currently not accepting applications, at the very least they could have responded to me letting me know this. While disappointed, I suppose it's better to know before moving in that I'd be dealing with an unresponsive management office.
Everything was mostly good until move out. Nice office staff, nice apartment. But then oh by the way, you have to pay to have your carpets shampooed for the next tenent, and oh by the way, your last sewer water trash bill we take out of your security deposit... Even if you were only there for half of the month. Complete and utter bulls***. We left the apartment in great shape and always paid on time and who knows how much of our actual security deposit we'll get back. Just not happy with this place in the end.
My husband and I resided at TLP from 2011-2013. We enjoyed the area of Eagan very much. We were overall happy with our time there. The manager Diane has been there for many, many years. We liked having underground, heated parking. The hot tub and gym were useful to us as well. All in all a great quiet community.
Location is very convenient to 35E and Cedar. It is a very quiet location, set away from the road. Units have their own washer/dryer, albeit the washer is very small so you'll end up doing more loads than with a traditionally sized washer. Each unit has central air and their own furnace, both pluses. Maintenance requests are handled promptly. The buildings are kept clean in the central areas (foyer, hallways, stairs). Very little modernization has been done to the units since the community was built in the 1980's. The cabinetry of the bathrooms and the kitchen is still the original - the fake white art-deco style which is cheap-looking. The units also still have old beige carpet, where newer developments go with hardwood (either real or fake). The garage for each building is set underneath the building, and is kept relatively warm, so this is a plus. Some units have newer appliances (stainless steel) which are more modern, but combined with the dated cabinetry it looks a bit odd. The parking lots have serious issues with pot holes every year after the snow clears off. It's not just a few pot holes, it's more like a war zone. This could be improved upon. The fitness center is barely that. The few pieces of equipment in the room are older than old and most don't work. They shouldn't advertise that they have workout equipment. The units that face towards the lake are very private. There's occasional wildlife that makes appearances which is interesting to see (deer, fox, owls). Being on the lake provides a nice backdrop for walks. Overall I would recommend living here. The units have all the amenities you want and the community itself is quiet and is in a great location. The downside is the dated-appearance of the units. They will need to start putting money into modernizing (floors, cabinetry, appliances). Regardless of how well maintained, something that is 40 years old will still look 40 years old.
We love our apartment overlooking Thomas Lake Park. There are extensive walking and biking trails in the area as well as shopping and restaurants also within walking distance. Apartments haven't had much updating since built in the 80's but rent is reasonable. New management company took over this year and they seem to be upgrading more than the previous one. Extremely well managed and maintenance response is good. Lots of closet space and having our own washer/dryer is a plus. Kitchen has a lot of cupboard and counter space! Underground, heated parking in MN is wonderful. Well maintained gym and sauna....hot tub needs to be replaced. Pool is immaculate. There is no tenant storage. Happy here and plan to stay for a bit.
Love the setting here at Thomas Lake Point. Complex is nestled in Thomas Lake Park, trails everywhere to hike and bike. Walking to restaurants a plus too. The complex built in the 80's and not much upgrading done since but complex was recently sold and there seems to be an initiative to begin to update things. Rooms are spacious and plenty of closet space. Kitchen has plenty of cupboard and counter space. Love having our own washer/dryer. We have had a few maintenance issues and they are prompt and efficient. Management here is great. They stay on top of everything. Love the heated, underground parking. Great amenities, pool, workout room and clubhouse. The only downside is no tenant storage.
Thomas Lake Point is nestled in Thomas Lake Park and has amazing views of the Lake and Park. The units are clean but are dated. Not much updating since being built in the 80's. Close to shopping, restaurants and schools. Diane, the manager, is on top of everything. She is awesome. The maintenance team addresses repairs quickly. The only downside is that there is no storage for tenants so that has proved challenging.
This is one of the best complexes I've lived in. One of the few that offer central heat and air as well as in-unit laundry. The pool is small and only 5 feet, but they take care of it, with nice furnishings. Service calls are answered quickly. Many amenities. Nice, friendly staff manage the office. The buildings are kept pretty clean. I have an amazing view over the lake. I see deer and other animals frolicking in the woods. Just renewed my 2nd lease. Very happy.
