With SEPTA trains whisking commuters into Downtown Philadelphia in roughly 18 minutes, Wynnewood is the perfect suburban community: attractive homes along hilly, tree-lined streets, beautiful parks with everything from carousels and playgrounds to green space for community events, great shops and restaurants, and a nearby college (in this case, Haverford College). Wynnewood is even close to golf courses, with Merion Golf Club and Karakung Golf Course both located just outside the neighborhood.
Wynnewood's ideal location places it between Merion Station and Havertown, minutes from West Fairmount Park. While mostly residential, Wynnewood's shopping area is located along Lancaster Avenue at the north end of the neighborhood. Here, you'll find everything from bistros and cafes to a Whole Foods Market and large chain stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond. Wynnewood is home to Lankenau Medical Center, located on the south side of the community.

Property Ratings at Thomas Wynne Apartments
The community of staff and neighbors are wonderful. Everyone is warm and welcoming. We love that we have neighbors in every age group. We LOVE our apartment, the large rooms and big windows. It is everything we were looking for
There are many smokers in this complex and their cigarette smoke leaks heavily into non-smokers' apartments and hallways. It's awful, stressful, and I feel helpless.
My husband and I lived at the Thomass Wynne Apts. for the past 9 years. The location is perfect being that it is close to the R5 regional train to center city Philadelphia where both of our jobs were. There were many shopping areas close by so no need to pull out your car. The park like setting was beautiful and peaceful. The residents are super friendly. The management and maintenance teams are excellent! All in all a great place to call home.
We needed a short term 2 bedroom apartment while we house hunted after a cross country move, and Thomas Wynne apartments was incredibly accommodating as I made arrangements from Portland, OR, and during my cross-country drive. I was delighted when I finally toured the apartment -- the kitchen was completely updated and in like new condition, the bedrooms were spacious and having two bathrooms was a nice surprise. They deep clean and repaint the apartments between tenants. Kathryn, the leasing manager, was helpful and great. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is great if you're looking to live on the Main Line. Free (outdoor) parking was a great plus too that we didn't see with other buildings we considered.
My family recently rented a 3 bedroom apartment at the Thomas Wynne for two parents, two kids, and a regular out of town visitor (a grandparent). I could rewrite the review here, but I solidly second the review below titled "short-term gem". We had a great experience in terms of space, building management, and overall community. As stated, the building is older, but it could not be better maintained, nor do I believe the management could be more professional, responsive/accommodating of tenant requests. Location is impossible to beat, from walkability to access to the city by way of SEPTA commuter rail. 30th St station is a quick/easy 15 minute ride away, and the Wynnewood station is practically on the Thomas Wynne property, it is so close (by footpath). Highly recommend.
We recently leased a three-bedroom unit at the Thomas Wynne Apartments. We have four children ages 2-13 and had plenty of space to spread out and settle in. We had a short-term lease yet the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Anytime we had questions or needed help with our unit, someone was on site within minutes. We also enjoyed the location; there are so many amenities within walking distance. We felt very safe, and residents were so welcoming. This building is older, but is maintained impeccably. The staff is constantly working on improvements, like new paint and furniture in the lobby, new sound proof and heat efficient windows, paved parking lots, etc. We recommend these apartments hands-down!
My wife and I lived at Thomas Wynne Apartments from the summer of 2005 to the summer of 2016 (11 years!) while we completed our undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate training. And, for one night -- our last night -- our newborn son called it home, too. Our one-bedroom apartment was cozy, nearly problem-free, and when there was a problem, extremely well-maintained. Our neighbors were extremely quiet and respectful of each other. The building also was well-maintained and staffed by an extremely friendly management and maintenance staff. The community is quaint, yet located close enough to busier suburban areas, a convenient train station, and roads capable of timely travel anywhere in the five-county area. The time we resided at Thomas Wynne Apartments, the July 4th fireworks across the street at Narberth Park, the friendly faces of the Apartment's day and night managers, maintenance staff, and residents -- everything -- will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Really good environment, the apartment isn't extremely fancy but nice enough.
