My move in at this apartment was the most stressful thing and such a bittersweet experience. I applied back in August and got accepted in September and my move in was November ( I love to do things in advance so i don’t rush last minute). When I toured the apartment I loved it and told the agent that I wanted the same and I knew it would be some differences and all but not how I expected to be. The day of my move in, I got in the apartment everything was dirty, poop in the toilet, dishwasher nasty and more. Not to mention the apartment did not look like the one I toured and was very small . I was traumatized and asked to get another apartment cause there is no way I would live there. When I told the agent she said I was toured by an agent that quit and in fact the entire management quit and they are all new so it’s not their fault etc. Long story short after spending 5 hours at the leasing office I was able to get the apartment I wanted with an increase of $200 rent of course but didn’t have a choice so I took it . The assistant manager was very unhelpful. Shoutout to Chalese and Asia for working this out. So yeah moved in my apartment that I love some maintenance issues here and there 1 got fixed and 2 more to go. Now trying to make the most of it.

The staff, setting, property, and surrounding neighborhood are all great. maintenance issues are dealt with according to severity. However, the property is managed by a commercial property management business. Meaning, don't believe the base rent of the advertised property is what your rent will be. The base rent does not include the mandatory 150.00 monthly amenities fee, which includes paying for your uncovered "carport " parking. Seems like a money grab to charge a resident rent, and then charge more to allow them to park on the property they are already paying rent for. Plus, if you are single living in a one bedroom apartment, a covered spot or garage is not an option. If you would like to pay for a garage, good luck. there is a waiting list because maintenance is using some of them as work shops and storage. Overall, it is a nice place to live, but be ready to spend more than advertised for the luxury of living here.

I have had an utterly disappointing experience with this apartment complex, and I feel compelled to share my grievances to warn potential renters. My patience has worn thin after submitting multiple maintenance requests that have gone unanswered. Upon moving in, I was welcomed not by a clean, ready-to-live space, but rather by the remnants of the previous tenants. Belongings and trash were scattered throughout, leaving me questioning the cleanliness standards of this so-called "luxury" apartment. One of my main concerns at the moment is a leak in the ceiling and an alarming amount of mold in the kitchen pantry and laundry room. Despite promptly submitting a maintenance request, I have not received any acknowledgment or response. It's disheartening that the management seems to turn a blind eye to serious issues that affect the habitability of the apartment. Furthermore, I was promised that my bathroom would be resurfaced before I moved in, but it has been five months, and there's been no progress. The false assurances have left me disillusioned and questioning the integrity of the management. Attempts to contact anyone through phone calls have been futile, and the inconvenient office hours make it impossible for working individuals like myself to seek assistance in person. It's as if the management is deliberately avoiding any responsibility or accountability. Given the exorbitant rent charged, I expected a top-notch living experience. Unfortunately, the reality is far from it. It's disheartening that the management seems to care little for the well-being and satisfaction of its tenants. I've reached a point where I've had to vacate the premises temporarily due to the unaddressed issues. If these problems persist, I will have no choice but to break my lease and move out completely. It's truly disappointing that a place that looks nice on the surface falls apart so quickly when it comes to fulfilling basic responsibilities. Save yourself the trouble and stay far away from this place. Your money and peace of mind are better invested elsewhere.

These apartments are the absolute worst apartments I have ever stayed in. I moved here in February of 2021 and my lease was up February of 2022. The maintenance are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They would come and fix one thing just for another to break. I have a loud knocking in my wall in the master bedroom the entire lease. The knocking would start everyday at 6:30 am and would come on randomly. When reported to the office the issue was never fixed (my neighbor also had the same issue). I have multiple videos of the sound im sure it was a plumbing issue but probably costed too much to fix. So they just avoided all of the work orders I put in for it. The amount of mice, roaches, and ants inside of the apartment was ridiculous (pest control did not help). The toilet never flushed properly and would have to flush it multiple times due to not enough water being in the back (per maintenance). This issue was also NEVER fixed even after maintenance came and looked at it. They were supposed to order a part NEVER HAPPENED). The diswasher was old and dated and whenever we tried to use it would fill with old smelly water. That would reak the whole house up if we opened it. We were never able to use it the entire duration of the lease this was also never fixed. The paint on the walls are very cheap and stain terribly if you put anything too close to it. The sinks in the kitchen also gave off a really foul smell because the dishwasher and sink were connected (per maintenance). We were never able to use the garbage disposal. Overall I would absolutely not recommend this apartment complex they have painted the outside and raised the price of rent are avoiding fixing the real issues with the apartments. COMPLETELY AVOID THESE APARTMENTS IF POSSIBLE ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

I’ve lived here 3.5 years (and I’ve also lived in 6-8 other apartments across DFW) and this is BY FAR the best experience of apartment living. Management is super professional and easy to contact, Maintenance is ON TOP of any service request, and it’s quiet here. Cool neighbors, good communication from mgmt on things like annual inspections or lease reminders, and it’s just a great place all around. I don’t know what else I can say, but I will mention that after the February 2021 winter storm, this entire property suffered a lot of damage and the staff and maintenance just worked tirelessly to fix and repair burst pipes, wet carpet, etc, as best they could. A lot of other apartment properties made the news for handling it bad, but here they just did a great job under historically terrible conditions. A+++ rating

Honestly, I think your better off at a different apartment. The complex and staff has completely gone downhill. The clientele that now lives around this apartment complex is dirty and unkept. Neighbors down the hallway got into a fight and broke a large full body mirror that sat in the hallway with broken glass for 2 weeks. After reaching out to staff, it still sat for another 2 weeks. There is mold growing out of the ceilings, the shower walls are peeling bc they paint them, and we can smell straight weed from our air vents from people across the hall. The biggest thing for me was my car getting towed. It was not breaking any rules that are labeled in their handbook. We received no call, no text, no email, or any type of warning asking for us to register the vehicle even though it was in the assigned parking spot. $300 later we got our car back. About a week ago, i find a warning sticker on another car in the complex. Obviously they messed up somewhere because i never got that. Why I wonder? There are still SOO MANY issues I could go into detail with but I’ll save it. It’s really sad bc I loved these apartments so much. All the trees, and golf course scenery is beautiful. However it’s just not enough to get through with handling all the other negatives that out weigh everything else.

I've resided at this complex for about a year and a half now. There has been some issues and frustrations in the past but recently the complex has made some changes that I like. I'm loving the new maintenance supervisor, Herman. He is very professional and friendly. Has a great attitude and personality. Looking forward to seeing him around for a while.

We have lived here for the past 5 years so we know how bad the services has gotten in the past couple of years. I would not recommend living here unless you have to. We have had a water leak from the AC unit in ours apartment for about 4 weeks now. Each time they're tried it fix it has made it worse. Finally they replaced the part in the AC and now the AC doesn't work at all. Just before the July 4 holiday. Now we don't have AC and it's 88 degree inside. I have called the emergency number about 6 times and no one from Thornbury can do anything about it. They willi leave you on your own and not taken responsibilities. I have other bad experiences from poor management experience but I think this will give anyone a good indication of what you willi face to live here.

Oh man! I have so much to say. I was suppose to move into this apartment community on May 16th, but upon arrival the apartment had not been adequately clean or the make ready had been not finished. There was dust and cob webs caked up on the walls and the door frames. The floors were not cleaned, the base board looked dirty and inside of the cabinets were dirty. The guest bathroom had not been resurfaced, there was yellow staining in the grout of the shower. There was some kind of black substance in the sink. The guest bath light gixture was rusted,there was a chunk missing from the counter tip. There were so many holes in the walls, and you can tell the walls weren't painted. There were so many exposed wires. The guest bedroom window seal looked like it had water damage. It was buckled on both sides. I also believe there was black mold in the apartment. I am currently 9 months pregnant and did not want to get to close to see. The grounds near the apartment we were going to move into had trash all around it! The most upsetting part is that we applied for this apartment 2 months prior to our move in. So they were very aware of the time frame we needed to move in. About a week after we applied for our first apartment with Thornbury, the office called and asked if we would be willing to move to another apartment since the tenant in that current apartment wanted to retract their notice. Since they had a first floor unit available instead of the second floor we agreed to this. We did them a favor by moving when in reality they should have told the tenant that they had already leased out the apartment to someone else and made them transfer. After we agreed to this I asked for a new Welcome home letter so I can see the pricing we had to pay monthly and for the move in. But after a month I never recieved one and had to call and ask again. After I received the new WHL the price for the new apartment was much higher than what they told me when they asked us to move. They ended up honoring the price that they first told me.. Over the 2 months time frame I began setting up my services required for move in and provided those details to Ross (the leasing agent). But the week of move in Kadence (the assistant manager) had to ask for all the information I had already provided. I brought all of this information to the manager Chip, and unfortunately I do not feel as he has been much help. When I picked up keys, Ross told me this was the best apartment he had seen!

I have lived here for 2 years and have been overall pleased. The front office is friendly and the service guys work very hard.
I had requested for a security deposit refund, even after calling them several times the only response I get is we are working on it and will respond in a day or two and they would never respond back. Ultimately they don't want to refund. Seems like they prefer quick money over long term customers.
Convenient location by the highway & restaurants. Maintenance responds quickly and office staff is helpful and nice :-) we had a few bugs one time but pest control came the same day to take care of it! a few complaints (no place is perfect): valet trash service doesn’t come 50% of the time they’re supposed to. Pool is often closed. This one is just small and petty, but the pool is mostly surrounded by trees and it’s hard to get sun if you’re not the only one there. Interiors and appliances are nice and overall Thornbury is a pretty good place to stay.
This place used to be nice but now it is a mess, you will find dogs waste everywhere, even tough office management send several emails reminding dogs owners to clean after their dogs, trash dumpsters are surrounded by trash bags, it looks like bags are heavy weight that residents are unable to place them into the dumpster (sarcastic). Regarding maintenance, there was a time when issues were fixed next day or two days after, nowadays most of the time it takes more than a week to fix problems, and they say all the time that maintenance crew is short of people. Make yourself a favor and do not waste your time trying to get an apartment at this property, there are better places for the same amount of money or less in Plano. PS: I am unable to post pictures to show you all the crap in this property.
I have been a resident with a six month lease and in that time: • I had a specific garage promised to me and the day I was scheduled to get it; the office staff did not have it ready, was not aware that I was coming in to get it and had to assign me a different one. In addition, that Saturday, I almost did not get the garage because no one was available to set it up for me. Luckily the lady in the office and I were able to figure it out. • The garage door opener broke and it took three calls over two months to have it fixed. This is typical of most of the repairs that my roommate and I have encountered. • My dealer loaned car was towed because I could not register the vehicle. In addition, I discovered the next day that I had no access to the mobile app to register any vehicles. The management company did not have my number listed, only my roommates. • The pool was often dirty because there are fabulous oak shade trees that would lose leaves and sticks into the pool. Wouldn’t be a problem if there were staff to clean it on weekends. • The hot tub is not a hot tub, merely a tub. • The gates are often not working. • The rent has raised significantly, and there have been few improvements. They did upgrade the pool furniture before I moved in, and they have had foundation people in presumably to repair the giant cracks in the walls. They have also hired a trash concierge service which has spotty reliability. The office staff is also nice and sometimes helpful but that is about it. I have been living in this complex for just over a year now. I am moving out at the end of August. This wasn't a terrible place to live in initially, but there have been so many key things for myself that made me want to leave. There has been a lot of foundation issues and I have to continually call to get them to fix/fill in the cracks in the walls of my apartment. The apartment complex switched company hands back in October and while I like some of the girls in the office, it has been really rough on us tenants. My unit suffered a massive leak when I first moved in (should have known) and I seem to have issues with water bugs from time to time, whether thats also because I'm on the first floor, I have no idea. It seems like each month there is a new "policy". Rent has gone up, but for what? Many units, including mine, do not have granite or upgraded fixtures, and they don't do package delivery. Some tenants can be really loud and unruly, this isn't exactly a younger community either. Lots of families and children, which is ok in my book, but some might not like it so much. It also lists this apartment as a "gated" community, but they frequently leave the gate open or it ends up being broken thanks to some idiot. The maintenance crew is the best thing this place has going for it. Kyle, Miguel, and the other few guys on the crew are always working hard and seem to be just as frustrated as the tenants with all the new policies. They do the best they can with what they have. My advice? If you're in a bind, this place might be alright. Its clean, yards are maintained, and they accept pets. But if you're on the hunt for a place you'll be happy at, keep looking!
Thornbury Apt Homes is the best spot to be in Plano. Right next to the golf course. In a great neighborhood. Trees everywhere. Easy access to the highway. There is no better place to live in Plano.

We have lived at Thornbury at Chase Oaks for almost two years. Our experience has been very pleasant. Our apartment is a large two-bedroom which feels like a small home. What we love most is that there are windows across the living room and the dining room which let in a massive amount of light. We are also fortunate enough to have a golf-course view from our patio. The complex is very quite. And at night our bedroom is very dark, which we love! We have found the office personnel and the maintenance staff to be very helpful and kind. There have been a few small issues but nothing that would make us leave.
