Property Ratings at Thorncrest Estates
This place is a gold mine for a contractor because the condition of this property is on the borderline of needing to be condemned. My company took on a project their maintenance staff could not handle. We gave them an upfront price for the project and they agreed to the work, paid the deposit and we ordered materials and scheduled a start date. We discovered extensive structural wood rot and made them aware of it. We gave them a quote for the additional work and requested payment up front. They were unable to get a check from the owner immediately, so we agreed to keep the project moving and they promised to pay the entire amount due on the last day of the project, which was two days later. The day we finished, they had no payment and promised payment by the following Monday. More than two weeks later, we still have not been paid. We are going to have to turn to the legal system to get paid. So, if you are a contractor, RUN FOR THE HILLS, unless you prefer to work for free. If you are a potential renter, RUN FOR THE HILLS!!! We were there working for four days and heard more nightmare stories from residents that can't get any work done. The manager is high most of the time and owner could care less about the people paying rent.
I've lived here for about 12-13 years now. The employees are all really friendly and do their best to help however they can. The apartments are a little pricey but I would still suggest moving here. It's perfect for someone who is living alone or a married couple, elderly, or a small family. The apartments come in two styles, one bedroom or a two bedroom. It used to be really rough here for a nice small city like Saline but I would say it's much better now. They've hired a new landlord and a new maintenance crew. I should warn though that neighbors can be noisy sometimes, really just depends on what building you move into.
DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS PLACE!!!!!! Warning!!!! Following Reasons Why...Management horrible, Maintenance is Horrible, Too Pricey for A dump...There is no respect at all with Neighbors that may live in the same building or directly above you. It can be hard to find the right apartment to live in. Rule and Policy they "enforce on Lease" Yeah right...No one seems to be following them. There are some that actually do follow the rules, but are the ones who gets in so much trouble for others stupidity...There has been Dogs running around without leash on...parking is horrible, there are signs up for buildings to know where you are assigned, but no one follows it, for the most part. They say when your vehicle is being damaged and threatening notes are left on your car, it is not the Management responsibilities at all to what happens to your property. How dumb is that! Oh, and if you want to litter and don't want to pick up after your dog mess, then go right ahead. Management wont do anything about it..SMH....ANyways, it is not somewhere I would recommend anyone at all. Maintenance is horrible, if your a single person, do not be in the apartment by yourself. They will try to hit on you and ask you out and be very disrespectful to you. Make you feel unsafe and uncomfortable. They say, they have noise, pet, parking policy and such..well no one gets in trouble for breaking all those rules. There are drugs and other illegal things going on in this place. Just be careful to those who are very young, single women and or single mothers out there. This is not the place to move into. Too pricey and it's a dump. Sorry to say, but it truly is. So, for good word of advice, do not come here at all. Manager is two face fake a...and I feel bad for anyone who knows him and such...not professional guy at all. Same as staff members. Too bad the Owner isn't listed on Google search, he really needs to know what really goes on around here. BE AWARE is the final word I have for those. Good Luck!
