Moved in March, stuck here until November: Where to begin… Paper thin ceilings / walls. You will hear and smell everything your neighbors say/do. Trash everywhere. They don’t have frequent enough trash pickups and the dumpsters/recycling are always overflowing. They rarely empty the dog poop trash cans either so they are always filled and stinking up the whole place as well. People smoke all kinds of things, all over the place, and you will smell it in your apartment. Renovations underway. The management wont give you the courtesy of advance notice that, one day, the apartment above/below/next to you will be undergoing renovations for weeks on end. Instead, you will wake up at 7am on a weekend because a contractor is pounding away for hours. And the contractors will blare their music while working and park their vehicles blocking your garage/parking. You will also smell the toxic chemicals they use while installing the flooring. Cannot wait to move anywhere else. Literally. Anywhere else.

I visited the apartment complex and met with Steven. I was shown a 1 BR model. He advised prior to seeing the model that they were having a special and the administrative and application fee would be waived. I asked, “so, I will not have to pay those fees? I can just fill out the app and there will be no fees? He responded, “yup, because of the special they’re being waived this weekend.I asked if there were updated appliances in the apartment I would rent and he said yes, but was not sure about the fireplace. After being approved I found out the apartment did not have updated appliances.I voiced to Steven that the appliances were a main reason for selection (the floor plan was nice, but the appliances were the sell) His response, sooo (emphasis), you only want the apartment for the appliances?” (condescending tone). As for move in day, the apartment was not painted, AT ALL! Different color hues, dirt on the vents and the fan in the bathroom, the ENTIRE apartment smells like wet dog and feet. The carpets were not cleaned, nor were they vacuumed. There was dog food left, dog hairs in the carpet. A dead roach in the window sill. The stopper for the bathroom sink was left on the sink. There is dust everywhere. The only people I’ve actually received any professionalism from are the two gentleman I ran into from maintenance. It’s frustrating that I will have to rearrange my furniture to have the apartment painted and the carpets cleaned. The carpet was cleaned, still a stench. The ceilings are not allowed to be painted due to budgets. My clothes, linens, towels, comforters and coats were placed in the closet in the bedroom and they all smell like wet dog and feet! I A resolution definitely needs to occur. I went to the leasing office on Wednesday around 2:30 pm to speak with the community manager and was advised by Steve(n) she was not in the office. I asked to leave a message for her to call me. It’s Thursday after 3 and no phone call. The vents still are not cleaned and the blinds have yet to be changed. This entire process leads me to believe that if you don’t say anything they will have you move into an apartment that’s not cleaned, not painted and a foul odor. This is a DISGRACE.
One star for the shelter it provided. Any 5 stars on this community are probably fake or people who don't mind paying too much for too little. I lived there from 2017 until June 2019. Read reviews!

Well seeker if you are looking for space and elegance this is your property. I have enjoyed this property, its an ideal location to everything Raleigh offers. I want to say thank you to the staff, who is sensitive to our need and able to problem solve, in a way that makes life easier. Nice neighbors too!!!
Up until this past spring Thornhill was a perfectly fine place to live, that all changed when Cynthia took over as complex manager, and the entire complex has since gone downhill. Issues began when they started charging a fee for residents to pay rent, then they began a paid valet trash service which doesn't get picked up half the time, next the pool didn't open on time, merely because the manager failed to get it inspected. Maintenance requests have gone for weeks without being fixed, emails and phone calls to the office manager go unanswered, the manager has a horrible if not hostile attitude and we have also caught her lying to us on numerous occasions. A locker service was started for package delivery, however it wasn't set up correctly for the carriers and residents so we are experiencing a ton of problems. We also found out that the Post Office is having issues with the locker service company because they charge fees that violate federal law, Cythia lied and told us USPS was just being difficult to deal with. We were also told by the Post Office that she had been confrontational with our mail lady despite her trying to help out residents during the transition. You're better off somewhere else until this place gets a better manager that can be honest, courteous, and professional.
My wife and I love our apartment. For the area, it is pretty reasonably priced and we have had mostly good experiences with the staff. They went through some management changes recently, which caused some miscommunication issues, but overall it has been great.
