On the north bank of the Columbia River, separating Washington from Oregon, lies Portland’s largest suburb and the fourth largest city in Washington: Vancouver. This riverfront retreat is filled with a rich history, abundance of shopping, outdoor recreation, and a family-friendly atmosphere. With excellent public schools like Hudson Bay High School, families flock to this thriving suburb. There are more than enough community parks to keep outdoor lovers content, including Vancouver Lake Regional Park, LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park, Orchards Community Park, Esther Short Park and Playground, and Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, a fisherman’s oasis.
Interstates 5 and 205 run directly through town, connecting Vancouver to Portland, so commuting is a breeze – not to mention Vancouver is just across the river from the Portland International Airport.

Property Ratings at Thunderbird Village
Management is friendly and responds to questions/ messages in a timely manner. They are dedicated to make your move in experience smooth. The management is wonderful at listening to your concerns and works to fix the issue. The apartment complex is quiet and inviting. Maintenance is out every day working to keep the grounds clean and garbages empty.

Hi User, Thanks for sharing your expierwence living at Thunderbird Village. We'll be sure to share your experience with the rest of our team members as inspiration! Please let us know what we can do for you in the future.
This has been an unfortunate experience from the beginning. Management is absent, there is no access to the office. There is no receiving packages from USPS (the office will not take them). The pool looks nice, but don't get that close to it. The parking is a terrible situation and there is no rules. The tenants are allowed to do whatever they want. DO NOT recommend.

If you have a problem let the staff know, They jump right on it. These are older apts. that have been well maintained. They can use new windows as the old ones are a bit drafty, that would be my only complaint about the apartments themselves. There is no smoking on property and no grills, though some tenants do and claim they didn't know, it is in the lease agreement. the pool and weight room are pretty nice. The staff are always busy with doing what they can but always stop to talk with you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this 5-star review. We really appreciate the feedback. We are happy to hear that you are really enjoying your time at Thunderbird Village!
I have lived in many apartments and many rentals over the years and I have never had such wonderful service as I have living here. Yes, it is an older apartment complex and has it's issues, but the maintenance crew is right on it if we have a problem. The improvements being done by the staff are swift and very obvious. I moved in 4 months ago and every little mention of something to the staff is jumped on and taken care of. Brad heard me mention to Jazmine that the crows were getting into the trash can by the basketball court and Susan had the maintenance crew start emptying the can more often. It wasn't even a complaint! Wow!!! You sign a lot of documents about the rules, so you better read them and observe. The staff definitely enforces them. But that is fine with me. They are to protect the property and those that live here. Obey the basic rules and communicate with the staff when you have an issue and this is an awesome place to live. Susan, Brad, and Jazmine really work hard to make sure your needs are taken care of no matter how small the issue is. They truly care about cleaning up issues and making sure you love living here. It is so nice to hear children playing and laughing and knowing you are safe and respected here. The ponds and fountains are wonderful to sit by on a sunny evening. I love to watch the ducks and turtle in that calm, quiet atmosphere.

Amazing place to live! I have lived at Thunderbird Village since December 2017. When I first moved in there were a few issue, but within a few days the issues were rectified and it's much more quiet and pleasant. The staff are over the top amazing and work diligently to provide the best accommodations there are. Susan works with you and gives you her attention and has the get it done and make it better attitude! Brad is very informative and will provide the best help there is. Jazmin is very bright and will get things done! Best staff ever! Would highly recommend these apartments to anyone! I even brought in baked goods and they truly appreciate it! Top notch place to call home! As I read the prior reviews, all I can say is, you should of followed the rules and guidelines, that are set to assure a non hostile environment and a safe place to live. Don't blame the staff for your ignorance and lack of respect.

We are so glad you choose Thunderbird Village as your new home and that your experience was a positive one!
My wife and I had to suddenly break our lease because of me going to school. Lease breaks are always a scary thing, and re obviously not smiled upon. When we told the manager Susan, she was so helpful and instantly starting helping us find a solution. All the way through the process Susan has been understanding and extremely helpful. If we ever end up back in Vancouver we will be looking for an open apartment in Thunderbird Village.

Thank you for your positive feedback and congratulations on going to School. We look forward to having you back at Thunderbird Village when you return!
Iv lived here only about two weeks, and the managers have only had the property for 3. They have been a lot of help with getting things fixed and answering all my questions. The property is quite, and really nice. The newly renovated places are amazing! I'm happy to be here. The managers are very nice and actually help when you have questions or concerns. Highly recommend

I recently applied for a apartment at Thunderbird Village. It was a great property. There was nice landscaping, newly remodeled 2 bed 1 baths. My experience at Thunderbird was great. I was able to easily communicate with the dedicated, respectful and responsible employees at ThunderBird Village. I would recommend renting at Thunderbird Village because the property is a calm and quiet community that has staff that are very fleaxable and tend to the needs of the residents. Thank you Thunderbird staff. I really appreciate the time you took to look over my application and show me around the property.

Great experience at Thunderbird Village. I recently applied for a 2bd 1ba newly renovated apartment. I had a fast, easy application process. The employees there at Thunderbird were wonderful they were always willing to ask answer questions, happy, greeted you at the door, called you to make sure you had updates on application, flexible and outgoing people. I would recommend Thunderbird to anyone who is looking for a 2 bd 1ba newly renovated!!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We strive to make the application process as seamless as possible because we know searching for a new home can be a stressful time. We are glad you loved our renovated units and are looking forward to having you as a resident!
I have lived here three years now and Thunderbird staff has always been great. They are working on cleaning up the previous issues with finding parking. This has been both a positive and a negative. The positive is that the tenants have no problem finding parking anymore. The negative is that there are no overnight guest allowed at the moment. The staff does say that they are working to remedy the issue and make it work for everyone. The maintenance is quick and when I have put in maintenance tickets it has always been the next day when they look at the issues and fix things. The great thing about Thunderbird is that they do take pride in the common areas and keep it landscaped and looking nice. The workout area and sauna have been remodeled and it has nice equipment. The place is pretty peaceful and quiet. I do not have any issues with neighbors being loud or partying. I have never had any issues with feeling unsafe or uncomfortable walking the pathways and trails around the grounds. If they fix the current no overnight guest policy....I would have no complaints at all.

Thank you so much for the positive review! We re glad you enjoy the grounds here at Thunderbird Village, we take a lot of pride in providing top notch amenities for our residents. Hold tight we are coming to a solution soon that will allow overnight guest once again while still alleviating the parking stress for our current residents. once this change has been implemented all residents will receive a notice of the change. Thank you for being a valued long term resident!
Do not waste your money moving here. The company that own's this property thinks they can bully the tenants around! They think it is ok to change the policies after someone has signed the lease and then charge you a $1300. fee when you want to leave. Now they have decided that tenants cannot have ANY overnight guest (a violation of a tenants privacy). Then again did I say they constantly like to change and add new polices. Save your money. I have never lived in a worse place.
Property Manager at Thunderbird Village, Responded To This Review
We are very sorry you are not having a positive experience here at Thunderbird. It is common practice in our industry to charge a lease break fee when a resident chooses to leave early. The standard is 1.5 times your monthly rent. If you have any further questions about your lease the staff would be happy to assist you. We are available for questions and concerns 6 days a week! We have been in the process of shifting our parking policies to find a solution that works for all of our residents. Concerns in the past have been overcrowding due to excessive guest parking so we limited guest parking to only daytime hours. We are working on updating this policy again to allow overnight guests while still alleviating the over crowding. We thank you for your patience while we work on resolving this matter.
As a tenant who has lived here for over two years, I am not feeling good anymore about my experience or relationship with Thunderbird village apartments. The buildings are old, the windows are drafty, the electric bills are high in the winter(due to inefficient weather protection), the kitchen is micro mini, and the apartment is prone to getting mold in the winter,as the ventilation/air flow is not good (old building, no updating). This year they have suddenly decided that we can no longer have over night guests. Your guest will receive a $50 dollar parking ticket or be towed, if they park in the guest parking lot after 9pm. When I have talked with the management about the situation and my feelings of having my rights to privacy as a tenant violated, they showed little care and did not take my thoughts into consideration. As an adult and paying tenant I should have the ability to decide myself whether I want to have an overnight guest or not? I have NEVER lived anywhere that a tenant was not allowed to have overnight guests (what about company out of state or family). I feel as if they are saying ,"oh well, too bad. There is nothing you can do about it, now that we have roped you into another year lease." On the positive, I will say the staff and management in the office has always been very nice. Every time I have a maintenance order it is fixed that day or very soon after reporting a problem. I have always liked the staff and taken pride in where I live (even though it is in one of the worst neighborhood in Vancouver). I have never had any problems with safety (although, there were a few sketchy times that there looked liked some sort of drug deal was going down in the parking lot and I have seen the police keeping an eye on things a few times?). I am sad to say I am planning on moving out early (almost worth it to me to pay the $1200. fee to break my lease early) or I will definitely not be resigning my lease when it is up this year. I get the feeling that management does not really care about how I feel, because that way they can charge someone else the inflated price gouging costs that all the landlords in Vancouver are currently charging people!!

Thank you for your feedback we are always looking for ways to improve our resident experience. We are thrilled to hear that the office staff has treated you well and that maintenance has addressed your requests very quickly. We are sorry you are frustrated with the new rules regarding parking. This has been enforced to help eliminate the stress residents had with finding a parking spot when coming home from a long day at work. The new rules & patrol has also helped with the issues of unwanted visitors causing potential problems. If you ever witness that kind of activity it is important that you contact the police immediately, tell us right away or call NW Enforcement (503) 893-8858 . Visitors are more than welcome to park on-site from 8am-9pm. All suggestions are important to management and will be reviewed. Please note that changes take some time to revise if it is approved.
Thunderbird Village Apartment has very nice landscaping just taking a walk around the little lake with two different fountions and a waterfall makes its relaxing and a place you live at should be that way. The complex is very kid friendly with a basketball and tennis field.
