It’s poor because they don’t manage people with pets so there is doggy dodo all over the property, second they over fill the parking lot and don’t have parking available for residents who work late and on top of that they have a contract with a towing company to make sure there parking lots are safe from cars but they are to cheep to hire security with all the car break ins. Also with the change in owners we aren’t getting our deposits back even if the conditions are good.

I feel compelled to share my experience as a tenant at Toscana At Sonterra Apartments to warn potential renters about the ongoing lack of maintenance and management's refusal to address critical issues. Trust me when I say that you should avoid this complex at all costs. My time here has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I've endured. The most pressing concern is the persistent flooding issue that plagues not only my unit but several others within the complex whenever it rains. Despite bringing this matter to the attention of the management team repeatedly, it has been over a month, and the problem remains unresolved. The lack of urgency and disregard for tenant safety and comfort is simply appalling. Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this situation is the management's refusal to provide written communication. Astonishingly, they have a policy in place that prohibits any form of written correspondence, including emails, with tenants. This means that concerns and complaints are easily brushed aside or forgotten, leaving tenants feeling unheard and powerless. It's disheartening to witness such a flagrant disregard for basic tenant rights and effective communication. It is disheartening to pay hard-earned money for an apartment that lacks basic upkeep and where tenants' concerns are met with negligence. Unfortunately, my frustration with the lack of maintenance and the management's unresponsiveness has reached a breaking point. I am currently exploring legal options to terminate my lease and sever ties with this complex. The thought of spending another day in this disarray is unbearable, and I implore anyone considering renting here to take heed of my warning. In conclusion, I cannot emphasize strongly enough how crucial it is to avoid Toscana At Sonterra Apartments. The ongoing lack of maintenance, coupled with management's refusal to address issues promptly and their discouraging policy against written communication, creates an environment of frustration and distress for tenants. Don't make the same mistake I did. Spare yourself the anguish and look elsewhere for a rental property where your comfort and well-being are valued. They are under new management, and they are putting all their effort into first impression items to wow new tenants, and they are ignoring current residents. The new management recently decided to "upgrade" apartments and while many features are fine, they never once asked for input. The appliances are shiny steel, but are very low quality (and refrig no longer has ice makers??) Light fixtures were removed and replaced by weird LED lights that are bright blue--and you cannot change the lightbulbs. The "new" work out facilities are on wifi which doesnt connect and the screens on the bikes do not work. The TV's have no remote and are not tuned to anything, weird. The worst feature for most of us in our apartments is the bathtubs--the place is like 25 years old, but no work done there--many are moldy or stained--mine is. My biggest compliant, however, is the pool, it is constantly locked for repairs. I would say it is less than 50% availability last year, like down for 6 months each year I've been there--VERY frustrating. Its currently down right now and has been for 2 weeks. Also, the gates are now controlled by your phone app which is frankly a hassle--my phone is not near me when I drive, and I cannot load the app on my work phone. When you use the app, it many times does not work and you end up trying like 2-3 times. And lastly, if you don't want to spring for the $100 garage the parking can get really bad at night. I mean REALLY bad. I've had to park so far from my apartment before that it literally takes 5 minutes to walk to my apartment. When you are carrying groeries walking hundreds of yards is no good! If I were you, I'd Factor in the cost of the garage or be frustrated a lot. But really, all this could be tolerable if the staff was understanding and helpful. I frequently leave feeling angry or frustrated and anything they say they are going to do, they don't do it. There is very little communication on what's happening (or why) or when facilities are closed or will be back. I show up at the pool often to a locked gate with no sign or explanation, and no idea when it will be back forcing me to check each day for an opening.

Please note, the pool was closed last week due to the rain and scheduled maintenance, we alerted all residents of this in advance via email. If you would like a TV remote for the televisions in the fitness room, you can check one out at the office. In addition, WiFi is available, you just need to ask for the password. ZRS manages Toscana at Sonterra but does not own it, therefore, we do not have the authority to make upgrades to apartments but we always voice the concerns of our residents. Gates don’t work, maintenance staff doesn’t work, amenities are never open, they decide to do super inconvenient “reno’s” and will CHARGE YOU exorbitant fees for “noncompliance”, no parking, trash office staff that will talk to minors and blame them for their screw ups. This place is terrible ZRS is terrible just run away, so many better options to choose from in stone oak area especially if you want “upscale”. LMAO this place is FARRRRR from w constant police presence, break ins, and no security.

There is NEVER any parking. It’s so bad that we have to park in the fire lane or way on the other side of the apartment. For how much we pay we shouldn’t have to worry about having a parking spot.

Been living here for 2 years with my 2 dogs and recently one of them was profiled as a pitbull when I just recently signed a new lease with them giving them proper veterinarian paperwork stating his breed which isn’t on the restricted list nor a pitbull. I was told to remove him and I then decided to find a new apartment. Screw Toscana and their staff for being very unprofessional. It’s funny how my dog can get attacked my neighbors small dogs yet he was order to be removed based on what he looks like. Idiots.

Toscana at Sonterra, excellent location, closed to main highways, safe neighborhood, the apartments are in great condition and the leasing office is very prompt and effective to handle maintenance requests always very pleasant people to deal with. I've here for 2 years and love it, it feels like home. Very good prices to be in the Stone Oak area.
This apartment is located in the beautiful Stone Oak area-North San Antonio. This apartment is close to many great restaurants, activities, and malls. The apartment is nice, however, the issue is actually with the staff. They are all really nice, but when issues are brought to their attention- nothing is ever done. I know my fiancé and I have asked a few things of the staff and yet weeks and months have gone by and still nothing. It is also really hard to get ahold of them by phone, especially on weekends. If you are a low maintenance tenant, this is a good place. I like it as I can live in a great area of town without being totally financially drained. Chelsie Green San Antonio, TX
