Just one subway stop from Midtown Manhattan and the Upper East Side, Long Island City sits along the East River with spectacular views of the city skyline. Since it once served as a manufacturing hub, a variety of former industrial buildings now house historic lofts. Luxury condos also dominate the landscape, along with a smattering of low-rise apartment buildings and single-family houses, providing a unique mix of architecture to suit any renter’s lifestyle. Living in this Queens neighborhood will put you close to not only Manhattan, but also trendy neighborhoods like Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
If you're planning to move to Long Island City, you might be wondering what the cost of living is, and how it compares to the rest of New York. Like much of NYC, the cost of living in Long Island City is high — roughly 80 percent higher than the national average. Those fantastic views and being less than 10 minutes from Manhattan by subway come at a cost.

Property Ratings at Tower 28
Good amenities and nice location. But irreponsible management . Nobody came for giving a tour which was scheduled already and had waste of time for self tour of the apartment which was already rented . Should have let know before that apartment was already taken.
Don't even bother to liver here. Their management team is extremely irresponsible. The whole building has really bad soundproof walls/doors. There is a screaming kid live cross hallway of our unit and kept screaming all day during the day time. His month provoked him to scream instead of stop him. We filed the several complaints to the mgmt team and basically we were told that we should "suck it up". Also, residents smoke weeds and left trash in the hallway. The kid's mom left her personal shopping bag/cart on the hallway for months and no one can stop her. During summer the AC was broken and the maintenance guy told us to wait until Monday regardless it was 100F outside. If you consider this is "Luxury", i would be laughing really hard.
