Property Ratings at Tower Place
Pros include location and good views on top floors. Cons include noise! Lots of noise transfer from apartments above and on each side. Very disruptive at all hours.

We have to move out of the area due to my girlfriend's schooling, however we would definitely be renewing our lease otherwise. The amenities are great, floorplans are very spacious, and the windows are massive. The management team is great and throws events consistently for everyone. No noise issues experienced in 13 months here, nor any other major issue you'd usually experience in an apartment building. There are a couple grocery stores within walking distance.

My daughter moved into a Carnegie 1-bedroom apartment this past July. The apartment is beautiful! Well-maintained and spacious! Mary and her staff were so helpful. Prior to move-in, they answered all of our questions and helped streamline the moving-in process. Now that my daughter is moved in and all settled, she feels safe and comfortable. The location to the subway can't be beat. The maintenance staff is extremely responsive and the security personnel are professional and friendly. She couldn't be happier!

My Roommate and I have been living in the Tower Place Apartment since July 2019 and till now we have had an amazing experience! All the staff members, right from the front desk to maintenance to the leasing office is courteous, helpful, punctual, and friendly. The apartment building has a host of amazing facilities and features like the Lounge Area on the top floor overlooking the Beautiful Philly Skyline. There is a pool table in the lounge area where you can hang out with friends. In the basement area, we have a nice Gym which has all the necessary pieces of equipment and also a Yoga studio. The best part about the basement area is the Movie Room, with all its reclining chairs, where you can enjoy a movie night with your friends! The apartment itself is nice, spacious and overlooks the Philadelphia Skyline. Both I and my roommate are in love with the apartment and whenever we have guests over we make it a point to show them the building! We would highly recommend this amazing living experience to one and all!

Do not leave out-going packages with the front desk! I left two of my packages for shipment and now they're missing. These items were for return, so now I'm out the return money and the items. The front desk said they accept all outgoing packages, when I specifically asked UPS, USPS, and Fed-Ex. I contacted management with this issue, to which they replied that they're investigating it. After another attempt to get information, management referred to the lease on how they're not liable for any items left with the landlord, yet their front desk staff accepted the packages? Additionally, management said "Tower Place will accept returns, we are not a UPS/FEX-EX/Amazon etc drop off". However, there is no information in the lease regarding this. They said they'd reach out to me the next day... it's been three weeks and I haven't heard anything along with no updates on the UPS tracking or return site. Please be cautious of the disconnect between what the staff tells you, what procedures are actually conducted, and the lease because you won’t get answers or be compensated. I’m a new tenant and so far enjoyed the apartment however I’m extremely frustrated by the way this was handled. I will not be utilizing this “service” in the future.

I'm not even sure where to begin. The management company here so god-awful that it has gotten to the point I don't want to even waste my time complaining. In the past year, the fire alarm went off multiple times for extended periods of time (20-30 minutes one time at 5am). We lost hot water due to the atrium ceiling FLOODING for days. Multiple apartments lost heat for the MONTH of december, yet were charged over $300 for the month in gas alone. Apartments were reaching high 50s low 60s. The utility issue has become a huge problem with multiple residents complaining, but we have yet to receive any answer. At one point, I paid $450 in utilities for 2 months in a row. Again, i am still waiting to be reimbursed for this and my apartment is 1000 square feet. Then, they sprung onto us that they will be doing major construction on the building where we are now losing our courtyard which is what draws most people to the building. I spoke with a resident who moved in 3 weeks before they announced the construction and she was NOT notified of this before moving in. Upon doing research this construction was in the works for months. Residents who park on site lost their parking privileges and now have to park down the block. They were told they would be reimbursed for their troubles, but when I asked those who parked on site, no one has seen any compensation. Forget maintenance orders. When a maintenance request is actually passed along to the maintenance staff, they tell you they never received the request from management. I once sent a request in and got an automatic response from management to contact the emergency after hours maintenance team at this given number. I called and they told me they've never worked with our building before and they are confused why they were listed as the point of contact. When you walk the hallways its just residents complaining about management and sharing their weekly horror stories about the people who run this place. They also treat the security team like trash, when in reality it is the nicest group of people. You would be making a huge mistake living here. If anyone in management is reading this, I'd love to talk to a supervisor to discuss my concerns, but as I know "there's nothing you guys can do"

This place is the WORST. I have lived here for two years and I can't wait to get out. Me and many others who live in this building. The alarm goes off every other day for ten minutes and it sooo loud! The leasing office is soo rude and has complete disregard for any resident. I believe her name is Christna-she's the worst. She actually thinks she can do no wrong, and she will give you an answer in such a condescending tone. The problem is you are right and she is wrong! The gym- omg it is horrible. It looks nice but you don't see that there is mold all over the turf and the refuse to repay it. There is mold all over this building and you are breathing terrible toxins in your lungs bc this building is soo hold they basically build "luxury apartments" on top of it Let's not even start with the utility bill. One girl's utility bill was 500 dollars and they gave a different answer to all the residents who asked about it. This place is a gimmik and they will scam you! DO NOT COM. All the good reviews here are because they bribed people $250 as credit to their rent if htey posted something.

Hello - Thanks for taking time to review Tower Place. I would like to speak with you about the items that you have covered. If time allows, call me directly at 215-887-8400. Thanks. ~ Andrew Phillips, Regional Manager
This is a beautiful, historic, well maintained building in a good location. Groceries are out of reach for practical purposes without car (you must either train or walk carrying loads a half mile from Reading Terminal Market or walk the same distance from Target or Whole Foods). If you have a car, family to shop with, or get delivery, you'll be fine. Walkability during decent weather is unbeatable - head to Fairmount or Center City and be either place in 15 minutes. The flexibility and positioning on the corner of everything is ideal; not to mention you're sitting on top of the Broad Street Line...I've popped on the train many times in snowy mush and arrived at work with barely a snowflake on me. The amenities are great -- there's a desk attendant (usually friendly and helpful), package service and storage (you can even SEND outgoing UPS/USPS packages from the desk -- no need to slog boxes to a post office or store), bell hop carts for giant loads of groceries or heavy boxes, a free coffee machine in the lobby, a vending machine in the basement for guilty midnight snacks, bike storage in the basement, a breathtaking view of the city skyline and waterfront from the Penthouse level lounge/study room with free wifi, multiple computer workspaces, and free printing, and an underused enormous and cozy theater room. Off-site parking came with my lease and is close, and while they let you live park in the loading dock to offload heavy stuff like groceries, packages, furniture, etc, it's not as convenient as on-site parking -- which exists but is reserved for a mysterious wait list. The gym is professional level awesome -- my one gripe is that usually only 2/4 treadmills in the gym ever work at the same time. The service in this building is particularly outstanding. The service portal makes it easy to submit requests and observe progress. Service requests are handled promptly and you are alerted of the resolution by email - a very efficient and convenient system. Maintenance tech Kirby is so professional, responsive, and friendly, he frankly makes it a pleasure for something to break in your apartment. I had a wonky shower he came out to fix multiple times (no fault of his - the parts given to him for the repair were wrong). Each time he followed up to make sure it was working to my satisfaction, and if it wasn't, he happily came back again to get it right. He really represents the definition of "service." Overall, I would recommend this apartment.
Found this place super last minute, and I have not had any issues whatsoever. Convenient and great value for the price.

Thanks for your 5/5 rating of Tower Place Apartments. We appreciate your positive feedback! Please let us know if you need anything, we are always here for you!
The apartments are nice, the location is great, the amenities (i.e. washer/dryer in apt) are a big help, and the features such as a gym in the basement, free coffee in the lobby, doormen to sign for packages, and nearby parking are awesome. As with any apartment building, there are some very inconsiderate neighbors/tenants in the building. Also the heat and AC battle the large windows and occasionally lose. Recently, the elevators regularly break causing long waits or walking significant amount of flights up stairs. The fire alarm is LOUD and seems to go off once a week. Heat/AC break a few times a year. And the worst is the hot water is out on a very regular basis. The amenities and apartments are great, but the building is old and breaking constantly. It's cool there is a movie theater, but I would rather have working elevators and hot water.
Open floor plan, lots of closet space, updated appliances. Reasonable parking garage and gym in basement.

Thanks for your 4/5 rating of Tower Place! We are pleased to know that you enjoy living in our community!
I would advise NOT to live here. The tenants that currently live here are dirty and rude. Their children run up and down the halls like a play ground and pull the fire alarms during very inconvenient hours. They smoke cigarettes inside of their rooms and stairwells. This smoke and stench WILL seep into your apartment. Management does NOT enforce the no smoking policy. In addition, there was a cockroach problem. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Pro: -New and nice appliances -Friendly staff and management -Maintaince works quickly -Affordability and closeness to center city Cons: -Cigarette smoke (people smoke inside their rooms and the smells seeps into neighboring apartments) it's disgusting. -The tenants are generally unfriendly and very noisy. It is like living in a dormitory sometimes. -The garage pavement needs to be renovated.
Great views, available parking friendly staff have made my two years here better then any high rise building I've lived in center city. The maintenance security and housekeeping staff are extremely responsive and friendly and leasing has made every attempt to make the residents happy and comfortable. You don't get better views from anywhere in the city and the apartments are spacious with all new appliances.
Lived here for a year. Apartment is okay. Pros: good location, friendly front desk, apartment layout, social events, dog friendly Cons: washing machines are not the best quality, walls are thin
