Property Ratings at Towers at Wyncote
My move-in was my absolute worst nightmare. My leasing agent showed me the wrong apartment with the wrong number of bedrooms. I am a student and I drove in a uhaul from another state to move in and was shocked to open the door to a studio apartment when I thought I was renting a two bedroom apartment. The apartment that I moved into the next day had more than 7 dead German cockroaches, and in the week that I have been here I have found three more. For how expensive these apartments are, the quality seems to be lacking. This place seems to have an infestation of cockroaches due to poorly managed waste management and extremely poor upkeep and cleanliness of the basement and trash rooms in addition to poor tenant cleanliness. It smells absolutely disgusting and trash is usually overflowing from the trash cans in both the basement and trash rooms. The only solution to this issue would be better common area maintenance and regular fumigations or other forms of pest control in each of the buildings. For the price we pay as tenants, it is the least of what we deserve. The reason I am giving this two stars is because of how kind and welcoming the other tenants and concierges have been since I have moved in. The apartments look great when you are simply walking through or taking a virtual tour, but when you look closely at the baseboards and details of the apartment, it is clear that the 'renovated' apartments were cheap, quick jobs.
It has been super frustrating moving into this property. Andre specifically is an agent you would want to avoid. Heard from him once after we were approved for the apartment and he failed to respond to any of our multiple emails or calls. Just had a poor experience with him. We listed multiple issues that required immediate attention on the move in check list, and two weeks later no action has been taken like we were told there would be. Late last night I saw a baby (German) cockroach along with an adult in the bathroom. The only reason I am leaving a 2 star rather than a 1 star is the space in the unit is nice. If I didn’t have to deal with or rely on the staff at this apartment I would leave a much better review.
In my 12 month stay at towers, there’s been multiple mice sightings and I’ve had to place over a dozen noise complaints. As a student who is partially online and therefore spends time studying at home, the environment at towers is not conducive to success. I’m very disappointed with my experience.
I lived in the Towers at Wyncote for 19 months (2020-2021) in Tower 2 and it really did start off great. The staff is responsive, the location is ideal, apartment is spacious, and the gym fitness center is awesome! The only problems I had were the mice and the marijuana smell. There is a pest infestation problem. I know the buildings are very old, but the maintenance is subpar in this area for the amount of rent one will pay to stay in a “luxury apartment.” The marijuana smell was mainly from the neighbors. Management did address it, but it was a continued issue throughout my time there. If you want peace of mind, I would not recommend this apartment.
Property Manager at Towers at Wyncote, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are so glad that you were a resident for 19 months. However, we are saddened that we fell short in some areas during your stay. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experience with you. Please reach out to us at 215-885-1300 or towersatwyncotemanager@lindyproperty.com at your convenience. Thank you.
this place has a ton of mice and roaches. I have found mice droppings all over my apartment. I have seen the mice running on the floor. I contacted management by e-mail. They said I was crazy and don't have mice. I gathered the mice droppings to deliver to them. They refused obviously. Bottom line, this may be a convenient location, however, if you don't want to share your apartment with mice and cockroaches...look elsewhere. There is no denying there are mice, I have contacted the Montgomery County Healt Department as well. This is disgusting and repulsive!
The workers here are somewhat kind and nice, but I really want to move out asap due to noisy neighbors. Out of control and seems like the maintenance doesn't do anything about this issue. They will ask you to solve it by your own. I might be more generous about roaches here but, this noise makes me crazy!! Poor quality of life here. :( don't do it.
I moved here last Spring in a beautiful newly renovated apartment. I enjoy the clean and friendly environment, security, and all of the great amenities that are offered here at Towers at Wyncote. However, the renovations that were being done above my apartment were intolerable and was going on for almost 8 months. The workers started as early as 7am and worked through the evening and sometimes during the weekends. Management was made aware of this but I still heard the renovations being done at all hours of the day. Everyone doesn’t work 9-5 some of us work night shift. It would’ve been nice if I was aware that I was moving in below an apartment where renovations are being done. I understand they have to be done but as a new resident this is ridiculous. One day I heard the workers around 6:30am. The rent is not cheap to hear the constant banging and drilling almost every day. It’s a year later and i can hear renovations being done two or three floors above me. Also the neighbors who live right above me are teenagers who constantly make a bunch of noise all day and night. They are very rude and disruptive. Myself, concierge and security have repeatedly asked them to keep the noise down as they do not listen. I also let the property manager know this but they obviously don’t care about anything but receiving their rent. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s always the good tenants who get mistreated.
My move-in date was Saturday, October 19th. I visited the lease office a day before on October 18 to check the apartment and asked the office if I could check the apartment and get the key a day earlier. Because my agent wasn’t there, I couldn’t check the apartment, and they asked me to take the key on the move-in day, so I just made an elevator reservation for the move and came back. The next day, when I moved my stuff from my previous apartment into my new apartment, I was completely shocked. The apartment was indescribably dirty. It was absolutely not cleaned and there were piles of construction ruins and food waste that someone had eaten. I tried to contact the lease office, but I couldn't get in touch, and after making several emergency calls to maintenance office over two hours, they said someone will come out to check the apartment. I went out for dinner after I got tired of waiting, and when I got back from dinner, I heard from the front lady that a staff from the maintenance office came and took pictures of my apartment, but no action was immediately taken. In the end, I stayed at my friend's house for a night, then visited the lease office the next day. They promised me to clean up as soon as possible, and give me $250 in cash for the inconvenience fee. I spent two days outside, then went back into the apartment on Monday, but I saw the apartment was not properly cleaned. Still, there were some construction trashes, and a lot of paint stains remained. I let the lease office know the condition of my apartment, and they promised to clean it again, but I couldn't stay outside anymore, because I'm a student, so I said I'm going to clean it by myself and asked for the cleaning fee. Then, they promised to give me $50 more. Eventually, I had to sleep at my friend’s house for two days, and I had to clean by myself. They switched from giving $300 for cash to giving credit, and it has been over two weeks, even though I checked and asked for it a few times, I still haven’t received credit. The Towers has given me the worst moving experience in my life, and it seems to them that there is no effort or will to solve the problem.
The fire alarm. Utter chaos and a dangerous situation. The alarm has gone off twice now and the tenants are at risk because the security personnel are NOT trained on what to do. Also, these false alarms will only cause more tenants to stay in the building if there is a real fire. The first one was on Saturday night. Security and the lone maintenance dude seemed lost. No explanation for tenants that walked down several flights of stairs. No intercom system of any kind. Then at 3:40am on Monday it goes off again. Couldn’t tell if it was a real fire or yet another false alarm. Most people stayed in their apartments, while others took the stairs, especially when we heard the fire trucks. Guess what, another false alarm. The other two buildings don’t seem to have the issues bldg 1 does. It’s older and in need of upgrades. I’m in my apartment now and there is still an alarm going off in someone’s apartment a solid two hours after coming back upstairs. Security says, “yeah, we know. They’ll be back sometime today to fix it.” The rent is high, the utilities are high, and we have to deal with this too. I suspect there’ll be another “sorry for any inconvenience “ email from management when they eventually make it into the office.
My name is Joyce Brill and I've lived here for 13 years with my husband whom is now deceased(6yrs). There is no place I would rather live. Management is good no complaints, maintenance team is wonderful comes out ASAP when there is a problem. There are two attendees in building 2 whom are very kind attentive to me Ursa la and Frank M. They always assist me to my car and are there when I return to help me. I rate living here a 5 star.
Property Manager at Towers at Wyncote, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your 5 star review. We are so happy to hear you enjoy living at The Towers at Wyncote. Frank and Ursula truly know how to take care of our residents. If you need anything, please call the office so we can service you.
Over priced, they lie about the amenities. The pool is not heated, and I doubt it's salt water. It smells like weed everywhere, the leasing agents live in the buildings and are very unprofessional and use their position to intimidate neighbors. The apartments themselves are pretty basic, you can find the same layout in the area for much less. The leasing agents bypass peoples credit checks with $500.00 "personal fee" (basically a bribe) so you have a lot of neighbors that are just there because they paid someone.
Lived at the Towers from December 2015 to June 2016- really bad place to live, leasing office is disorganized and could care less about the needs of the renters, common hallways and elevators are not air conditioned, when you contact maintenance they just "patch" problems rather than fix them. So sad how far this great old apartment complex has fallen, used to be a wealthy community now is mostly low income. Everyone was hoping that when Lindy purchased the complex that they could turn things around, but that is not going to happen. Complaints go unanswered, no one cares, you cannot even reach the corporate office to have a conversation about the problems.
I lived there for 5 years it was fine with the old management .Its too noisy and not a restful place to live in with fire alarm going off at ungodly hours and other people being loud in the hallway and outside since i lived in the lobby, waking you up in the middle of the night with being loud. Not respectful of other residents. When management changed they upgraded facilities but they increased all the utilities fees which is not comensurate to what you pay for. I noticed too that even if i was out on vacation for 3 wks i still get the same bill for utilities that I didnt even use, ripping you off your hard earned money. Mgt doesnt care too if you lost something from the mail they wont reimburse you even if they signed for the package , happened 2x to me they lay the blame on the carrier even if concierge signed for it.
Been here for many years and management changed for the worse. It is a classic look premium from outside but inside is still the same. Contractors live with you, everyday you hear them working. Noise is everywhere. During day time it is contractors, night time college kids, security don't do much so be prepared to call police often. Fire drills are unbearable. You will see that fire alarm that rings will damage your ear, and their system is still old and malfunctions. Perfect for weekend parties. This is not a quiet place to call home.
This apartment is conveniently located, with easy access to the turnpike and Philadelphia. Highlights include an in-apartment washer and dryer (albeit small), friendly concierge staff and residents, an amazing dog park, and spacious closets to hide all your decorations/clutter. Unfortunately, maintenance is not always prompt and service can be sloppy. Since new management has taken over, prices have increased, though minot improvements have made. Other downsides include weird lobby smells (possibly linked to the trash chute?), broken elevators (usually 2/3 working at a given time), few late-night parking spaces, frequent false fire alarms, and rising rent prices, not including utilities.
In the Philly area it's hard to find a place that feels safe. I love that this is a gated community and has 24 hour security. The apartments are a little pricy, but so worth it! And the new owners Lindy, are putting a lot of money into updates in the apartments and the community. We love it here! I only give 4 stars because it is kind of expensive for the area.
Beautiful, comfortable, sexy, convenient, hip, consistent, friendly, stylish, quality, clean, value...the Towers at Wyncote
I live in a three bedroom apartment that I share with my mother and younger sister. There is a open center space that is shared as both a dining area and a living room. It has a kitchen with a walk in closet and 2 bathrooms (one of which is in the bathroom). There is also an average size balcony as well as 2 hallway closets. The maintenance staff is efficient and quick to solve any problems one may have and lobby staff that's available to answer any questions one may have. There is a Gym that is available to residents as well as a Pool, Office space, Laundromat, and a small convenience store with bathrooms and an ATM. Lastly there's a leasing office that has movie nights every Tuesday and Friday
If you are looking for a great apartment with a patio in a very nice neighborhood, the Towers at Wyncote is the place for you and your family. The staff is nice and friendly and quickly resolve any issues you may have. Maintenance is great.
