Jacksonville’s close proximity to Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River makes it a popular area for military personnel and civilian D.O.D. employees to find off-base housing; as a result, the local culture is heavily focused on the military.
The city’s nightlife scene and shopping centers like the Jacksonville Mall are popular hangouts. The area surrounding Riverwalk Park is full of historic brick buildings and quaint storefronts, giving the area a sense of rustic charm – it’s the perfect place to find your new favorite coffee shop.
For weekend trips, folks in Jacksonville enjoy easy access to large nature preserves like Hofmann Forest and the beaches of Emerald Isle. With an exceptionally low cost of living, apartments and rental houses are available to fit any budget.

Thank you for your feedback! We look forward to having you and your family at our community many more years to come.
They will over charge you for everything and they offer nothing for their expensive pricing and small apartments! They will ignore you about your security deposit and take longer than 30 days to give it back!
Very nice quite neighborhood . Staff are friendly, welcoming and polite. Apartments are nice comfortable and all appliances are brand new. Great idea place to call home.
Very quiet and comfortable place to live . Staff is very nice and there for you if you have any questions or concerns. 10/10
These are very nice apartments. Everything is new inside and out. All new appliances including washer and dryer. Nice and quiet neighborhood. The management are very nice people and very welcoming. Great customer service. Vivian
All the old reviews don’t even explain the beauty of the renovations that the apartments have had. They worked so hard to make this feel more like home to their new tenants. Such a wonderful place and I love living here. Perfect location too, everything is so close by. Seriously love it here.
Crime and roaches. I have lived here not even 2 months and the place is infested with roaches and i have been broken into twice and i came to the office worried about the health and safety of my children and they brushed me off and promised to spray for the bugs but never did no matter how many times i pleaded with them to help. Paid for it myself to try and fix it but it was so over run it hasn’t done anything. I’m fearful for our health and safety if we stay here but they don’t take police reports and the health department seriously.
Very knowledgeable, friendly, pet friendly staff. Property manager even met my dog which was wonderful. Can't wait to work the folks here. really enjoyed walking the property looking a sample unit.
I've only lived here a few weeks and so far everything's been just fine. There were a few minor issues with the unit when I moved in that were delayed in getting addressed due to the Maintenance and the Leasing office being separate entities, however most of them have since been taken care of. You really cannot beat the price, the units are old but mine has recently been updated so its plenty modern enough for my liking. Chelsea in particular in the leasing office has been a delight to work with.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ANYONE LIVING IN JACKSONVILLE, NC. If you are looking for a place to rent the price may get you intrigued and the people in the office may seem nice at first but do NOT I mean UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES rent from Town Center Apartments. And if you wanna know why I’ll tell you. It’s a plethora of reasons. 1. When they put the lease in front of you they’ll tell you that everything is fine and dandy and go over a few small pieces of the lease with you and will turn the page for you, while your reading I may add. So when you sign you don’t get the chance to read over all of it. 2. When something brakes it takes weeks to months to fix. The first thing that broke in my apartment was the AC. It first broke in the summer. I had 2 small children in the house that were walking around in their underwear because it was so hot and it took them two weeks to come fix it, they came and fixed it when I was not home they entered my home without my permission and left the front door unlocked. Two days later it went out again and it took them 2 months to come and fix it. The next thing that broke was my stove of all things. Again I have 2 small children that I needed to feed it took them ANOTHER month to come fix my stove. There’s many out her things that have broken but I haven’t even called because it’s not worth the wait. 3. Our trash (that we pay for each month) has not been picked up in over a month. I have called 2 times to see why and they’re like they can’t get ahold of the company that’s their problem not ours. 4. We just got a paper on the windshield of our cars saying that we have 48 hours to get the tags fixed or it will be towed. If they had bothered running one of the tags they would have found out that it was indeed not dead. And the tag office is not open right now and if it was it wouldn’t be open for 48 hours. 5. After paying rent never once late for over a year they don’t care about you. You are just a number on a page. 6. Today I went down there or talk to them about the tow threat and they said that I didn’t read the lease when the put it in front of me. Anyone that knows me knows there’s one thing you never imply about me. Do not imply I’m dumb. 7. After a year when you resign your lease they start charging you MORE not less Rant over. Long story short do not rent from Town Center Apartments.
I would never recommend anyone to rent from Town Center Apartments or Tarantino Properties. The property manager will charge you for things you didn’t do when moving out then never answer phone calls or emails. The apartments are infested with cockroaches. My stove blew a fuse and for a month and a half I went without a stove or properly working electric. Eventually the property manager had maintenance cut the power to the apartment because the breaker was getting too hot but didn’t offer us anywhere to stay causing my dog and my pregnant self to live in the cold with no heat running water or electric but I continued to pay my rent. At that point I broke my lease early. Now the property manager is trying to make me pay property damages for things that were broken or non existent upon move in or were damaged by a water main break that maintenance never repaired. Also, upon move in I was never given a move in sheet to document damages upon move in and the property manager stated tenants have to ask for one or they just put a blank one in your file. The assistant manager assured me that there wasn’t anything in my file. I was billed after 30 days of moving out and when I ask for actual damage receipts they cannot come up with them. I had to pay for electric lost groceries and hotel stays because of the property manager cutting the electric and not fixing it and I wasn’t offered any sort of reimbursement. The property manager stated that renters insurance covers this but because it’s not a natural disaster and was caused by the choice of the property manager they are liable. The apartment was moldy no matter how many times I cleaned it. I was also told upon move in that I could plant a flower garden if I wanted to and trim the bushes down if maintenance wasn’t maintaining them and when I did so they are now charging me for destroying the tree. When I first moved in the stove didn’t work at all and it took them 10 days to fix it. When I moved in I was told I was signing a paper that would cover up to 750$ in damages when I moved out at no cost to me and now I am getting charged the 750$ because it was a surety bond that was not explained properly by the staff. The assistant manager assured me that if she was in charge none of this would be happening but the property manager doesn’t care about humanity or any tenants that live there. This is an awful establishment and needs to be shut down.
This apartment complex is awful. My husband and I have been living here or 6 months now and I don’t know how many times I’ve had to go to the office for their laziness and non caring. I don’t care that you have a lack of staff there is 600+ apartments here and we all pay to live. HIRE MORE PEOPLE. We have had issues with them over charging us to not fixing our A/C in 100 degree weather with no replacement for a WEEK. I am currently experiencing a sewer issue and we are actually getting sick to do the lack of care and non professionalism they have. My neighbor has kids and her drains won’t drain because our sewer is backed up. SHE HAS CHILDREN. I am so tired of this place. We haven’t had any problems with bugs but we are also very clean. If I could get one of the lease tomorrow I would gladly do so. I am so tired of sitting in this house with this terrible smell. We are having to stay somewhere else tonight because it’s gotten so bad. Don’t make the mistake we did. Pay a little more don’t live here.
As a current resident here I will warn browsers. 1. Infested with roaches in every spot of the house and there’s nothing you can do to get rid of them 2. Outlets do not work and is very HAZARDOUS! I called in a work order for it to be fixed MONTHS ago and have heard nothing back STILL. 3. The Staff is very lazy, disorganized, rude, and lastly unprofessional. They never get back to you or contact you unless it’s about late payments, nothing else matters to them. 4. PLUMMING SUCKS! I literally had sewage get clogged and flood my bathtub!! DISGUTING!! lord knows I had to fix it cause they will not!!! 5. This neighborhood is very UNSAFE!! My fiancé had his car BROKEN INTO and had $2000 worth of gear stolen and now he owes the marines back for it. I find more and more problems everyday and pray for the day my lease is up to come faster. Please head my warnings and DO NOT RENT HERE!! It’s cheap but this ain’t it chef.. it’s not even worth it. IF I COULD ID GIVE 0 STARS!! Don’t make the same mistake I did. There’s better options, please look somewhere else.
Today was a pleasant surprise. I have had an issue of slightly slower repairs than I may have liked here and there due to there seemingly not being enough maintenance staff available at a certain time. Sometimes management and I bump heads a little, but I mostly try to stay out of their hair. But today was a lease renewal day. My stomach felt as if it were on fire. I felt as if I would pass out soon. I knew the office was likely busy being 10 in the morning, BUT I figured I might need to go to the hospital. Instead of being jerks about it, they ensured I had access to the lease renewal forms in a timely manner. I may have underestimated this new company. They may just care about their residents a bit more than I thought after all. Thankfully some Pepto and bread helped to calm my stomach (Haha). They keep showing this level of professionalism and care, and I will (if it's possible) change my review to a five star. Be blessed all.
Sense living here, I’ve experience a few minor issues. A/C problems but the guys came over 3 days later and got to work. They gave me a window unit until they could fix the issue properly. Had a problem with my toilet leaking the next day I received a call saying my toilet was fixed and I got new screen doors. I’ve read a lot of reviews about critters in there house, but I’ve been here for 6-7 months now and haven’t had a problem, might want to check your living. Staff are great and very friendly. considering these apartments were built in the 40s and it’s 2019 they are holding quite well. Always room for improvement but over all great job!
My apartment since moving in (5 months ago) is still infested with cockroaches, I’ve been paying monthly for a washer and dryer that has still yet to be installed and now my air conditioning is broken and they only have 1 person fixing the 13 work orders ahead of me which is causing my apartment to be 90 degrees with my animals inside all day long while I’m at work. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT FROM HERE

Hello, Our apologies to hear of your negative experience. Please stop by the office so that we may discuss further and work to resolve any issues. Thank you, Town Center
im a current resident of this place and it is horrible i evacuated from tth hurricane and i acme back the the ceiling caved in and i calle dthe next day for them to come fix it and they said they would have them come look at it and they never did i had to clean it up my self patch the ceiling to gether with tarp and trash bags there is a bug problem not matter what you do to try to fix it they always come back dont rent here no matter what i had called in for my oven that had had broken and i called it in about two months ago and they havent fixed it yet or even taken a look at it this place is horrible
This place was a problem from the day we moved in. Our apartment was not clean, the staff told us on move in that we could paint and mount tv’s on the wall and then we were charged for that on Monday be out. There is a bug problem in this place no matter how much you clean and pest control. The staff is rude and unresponsive to tenant needs. If I could give them zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and don’t rent here. They lie to you to get you in and then do not honor their word. Horrible customer service, rude employees.
They are horrible. It takes the maintenance people forever to fix any issue you have with the place. There are roaches everywhere even outside. You have a thousand and one cats living underneath the apartments and they take forever to mow the lawn. Don't rent from them. It may look nice when you move in but then you will see everything will come to light.
The worst and when I say WORST that's just what I mean! Grass always over grown, mold, bugs. Yeah the rent is cheap but you pay for what you get and if you have a clean business...thinking of cleaning for Town Center.. Don't! You never get payed. They are VERY unprofessional. You have been Warned!
I heard bad things about this place, and I guess it used to be beat up. But for the price, and the fact they are renovating them now, I think it's worth it! Plus military/school students get 10% off rent.
