Property Ratings at Trails at Flat Rock
Old and outdated everything. They send rude emails everyday to residents essentially talking down on us like we’re peasants. Bugs everywhere. They send out emails in regards to specific dog breeds but every dog you see is that of what is mentioned not allowed. The parking lot is falling apart. The areas around the walkways smell like urine because people don’t care to take their pets away from the building to handle their business. The kids playground looks like it hasn’t had a $3 bag of mulch put in there since 2009. The manager is snooty as can be. I was charged an extra month on the garage rental and they said there’s nothing we can do about it now because we don’t issue refunds. Well low and behold, I got charged a second time and was issued a refund. The paint on the cabinets and doors don’t even have primer. I would look at a couple other places before considering this one. This place needs a bath and a timeout.

The rent is too high for the quality of apartment the same stuff breaks over and over no equipment in the gym works
This place is terrible! We pay for a renovated unit and have a classic unit and there’s nothing that can be done about it. Our dishwasher haven’t worked since we moved in (have mentioned it 5 times, moved in July 2019) our hot water heater has leaked twice in the last two months so the hallway is soaked. The carpet is so wet and it smells.. they have stray cats EVERYWHERE! The garbage is at the front of the complex and it piles up so high that it’s all over the complex. They change management too often for anybody to keep up and the guy who was in office promised up that we’ll be moving into a new unit only to find out those are leased out.. the only benefit is that I have A roof over my head but I would Much rather stay somewhere else .. don’t waste your money, it’s not worth it!!

Run, Run, Run as far as you can...This place has new office managers every other month. There are 38 images posted on this site and 11 of them are inaccurate, either does not exist or looks nothing and I mean nothing like the image. Most of the amenities are not in service, no pool, no basketball court, no car wash area, and I still have not located the business center or club house. What you will get is plenty of stray cats, an overfilled dumpster, trashy parking area, and paper thin walls. It takes several weeks to resolve any maintenance issues. My refrigerator was not cooling and it took them approximately three weeks before replacing the refrigerator. I was told they would compensate me for the groceries that was destroyed, but I never received that because of course management changed and there was no reconciliation of it. My air conditioner wasn't cooling and the maintenance guy told me I should turn off the ceiling fan because it prevents the A/C from working.. I could not get in my mailbox for 2 weeks because they did not have a key. I have made complaints with new property manager, but she seems as if she is too afraid or could care less regarding any issues (very insensitive). I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are other places within minutes that may cost a few dollars extra or that is comparable in pricing with far more better services, benefits, amenities, and management. Broke my lease to get away!
I would suggest to anyone looking into moving to Brighton Park Apartments to run and do not sign your name to a lease. You can find better apartments around the same price in the area. This is by far the worst apartment complex that I have lived in. It started off as an okay place to live but is now becoming a place that looks like the hood. Don't let the pictures fool you into thinking it's this beautiful place because they just set it up to appear that way. There used to be some of the nicest people to work in the office, but the employees that work there now have negative attitudes when you try to tell them about the issues that are going on in the complex. They don't have an issue with collecting rent but if you have a problem to come up and you try to bring it to their attention, they act like you are bothering them.
Do not move here! The new management (2017) is horrible! Maintenence is horrible! They all have the worst attitudes and they act like they are doing us a huge favor by actually doing their job. Beware if you are thinking of moving here because they seem very friendly, until they get your signed lease in their hands. They do not have pest control and there are nasty water bugs all inside of everyone's apartments (told by neighbors and others from the other buildings as well). They do not check filters, fire alarms, fire extinguishers or any other safety features. I don't usually write these types of reviews (only the good ones), but I have been here for years and this place has went from a 4 star review to a 1 star with the current staff! There are much better apartments out there for this price and I can't wait until our lease is up...if we make it!
Brighton park apartments is a very friendly and safe community. The women in the leasing office has made our stay very welcoming since we moved here in 2009. We all look out for each other as neighbors. We have monthly get togethers for the kids. The school's are are really good the teachers go beyond helping their students.
This is a great place to put your roots down, with private entries. They keep up on the maintenance, of the apartments. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They have a great cascading pool to cool off in, with chairs and loungers. The rent is very reasonable and they allow pets, with a one time fee. If you like living, in the country, Brighton Park is for you.
