What began as a resort getaway for the Low Country elite in the 19th century has blossomed into a thriving community on the outer edge of the Charleston area. Countless buildings in town have been added to the National Register of Historic Places, so the local architecture definitely contributes to the charming atmosphere.
The town has experienced massive growth since the 1980s, meaning many of the apartments and homes are fairly new, and the cost of living is very affordable compared to many places closer to the city. Only about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston via I-26, it’s a great place for commuters to call home. Parents will appreciate the terrific local schools and family-friendly events like the annual Flowertown Festival.

Property Ratings at Treehaven
I'v lived at Treehaven Apartments for four years. This has been the worst experience of my life .First when i moved in family service helped me with the money because i was homeless and unemployed , I was promised the apartment on the bottom floor. I had to go pick the check up from family services, when I was doing that the leasing agent leased my apartment out to someone else management was AMCS. the next thing that happened was the next leasing agent was letting me pay weekly , i was ok as long as my rent was payed by the time she closed her books. Head Quarters came in and checked the books. when they seen i was paying weekly the made me pay two dollars a day late fees and 45.00 a month late fees. which added up to 450.00. So I had to ta take a title loan out on my vehicle . Now it was the leasing agent that set the arrangement . now Darby is running it they are bias . If the maintenance man does not like you he gets you in trouble, The buildings do not have any insulation. the windows are old when the wind blows your curtains move(window closed) when the nest door neighbor cooks the smell from their food penetrates your apartment. the building is around 50 yrs old , it looks like a 70 yr model home inside. my light bill runs 100.00 more than the person downstairs. I have block out blinds ,drapes and black plastic over my windows, SCEG came out and did a home inspection they said doing I was doing everything right. that when the AC was off it was only reading .1/2 kw when AC was on it was reading 30 kw. management wont change the unit out because it was built in 2004. SCEG suggested to pot a digital thermostat and insulation .they wont. They did have someone give them the cost on insulation. The have sever empty parking spaces sometime i park in one of those spaces because its closer to the stairs expecially when unloading food, the maintenance man said that was for visitors.,Other people uses the empty spaces also that have their own spaces. but there was a sign put just on one space where I parked. I think there should be sign on ALL empty spaces, I feel like I'm being picked on . My dog was off a leash to use the bathroom so our other people. I got a letter from the office because the maintenance man said something to the office . I complained about other dogs the never got a letter. I would know because my neighbor is very vocal person and I would have heard. Also Darby raised my rent 100.00 in one year. I went from 510.00 to 609.00
