The Apartments are secure and require verification before entry and parking garages. TRIO is well maintained and offer Special Entertainment Programs throughout the year such as pool parties and movies. Various contests are also sponsored throughout the year especially during Halloween and Christmas. TRIO is also pet-friendly and many dogs and pets are Welcome !
Very nice apartment community:quiet, clean, walkable, excellent maintenance service.
I’ve been at TRIO for 5 years, including the COVID era, and the complex is a nice place to live and commute in the Pasadena neighborhood. There are plenty of activities to take advantage of and the location is right next to Colorado Avenue. Los Angeles City is nearby also.

This building is not a luxury building anymore and the rent goes up higher in proportion to the building deteriorating ever year since I have lived here.
Living here at Trio Apartments has been clean, peaceful, and friendly! Maintenance requests were taken care of within a business day or two (at least for me) and I've been enjoying my time living here so far - no complaints!
The quality of this building has drastically deteriorated over the 7 years I have lived here. It is not a luxury building anymore.

Living at Trio for a month now has been a very positive experience. The leasing agent Erick, the shipping and receiving agent and the maintenance engineer Alfonso have all been extremely helpful, attentive and thorough. The amnesties here have been fantastic. Of course the location is prime and for much of the week I don’t even need to use my car since many of my needs can be taken care of with a short walk to dining, grocery shopping and entertainment. My 8 year-old son also loves it here which makes me feel like I’m doing the right thing as a parent.

shoes are left at the door which is a violation of the rules. The corridor and stairwell are filthy. The pool deck is also crumbling and hurts the feet. There are not enough chairs at the pool.

My wife and I lived in Trio for six years. We had a unit on the fourth floor of the Union Street side. Pros - Excellent location, well-insulated units, good view of the mountains (on the north side), excellent maintenance staff, kind and helpful front office staff, good amenities (Pool, hot tub, package room, gym, grills, etc.), walkable area. Cons - Managed by Gr*ystar, Inconsistent lease increases, Questionable explanations for not returning security deposit, old elevators
Trio apartment location is very good, apartment interior is nice, furniture looks new. Staff are helpful when any request is asked.

We are really enjoying our place at Trio Apartments! The floor plans are spacious and clean, there's lots of available parking, and we are within walking distance to lots of local shops and eateries!
Trio Apartments offers an excellent choice for those looking to reside in Pasadena California. It offers daily security and 24 hour contact for any security issues after hours. It is also close to business and shopping. The amenities include pool, hot tub, weight room/exercise room, daily trash pickup and multiple choices regarding Apartment layout and size. Maintenance support is also excellent !
A nice community building, but it’s not as nice as it was almost seven years ago. The rent keeps going up, but not as well maintained as it once was. Disappointing!
The location is GREAT! The Tenant experience was bad especially I paid my lease timely and in full while not getting services or space that was included in my rental agreement.
TRIO Apartments offer a great location in Pasadena, California, in combination with a well-maintained living experience and a friendly environment. And I would also recommend TRIO to anyone looking for a pet friendly lifestyle !
The sidewalks reek of dog pee---it is so overwhelming and makes your eyes sting. Trio needs to hire a company to wash down the sidewalks once a week. Also---you will find stairwell doors locked--complete fire hazard. There are several elevators that read the wrong floor number on the inside---you don't know when to get off!! And, it has been this way for years and even after submitting many maintenance requests it has not been addressed. Other than those issues--the apartments are ok.
For any renters that are looking for a quality living experience in Pasadena, California, I recommend Trio Apartments.
The management team and maintenance here is great! I’ve been here for 3 years but the only complaint I have which is a big one is for 3 straight years we have been living in a construction zone. Because of this the dirt in my apartment is ridiculous. Soot everywhere, killing my asthma and construction noise often. Can’t keep my apartment clean. I must move which I really don’t want to but 3 years of this is enough!

Excellent place to live in Pasadena. Good management and the company makes everyone feel welcome.
Move in : All appliances are from the 90s. VERY NOISY because lots of cars and motorcycles were revving their engine day and night.... Extremely SLOW ELEVATORS The microwave and gas range broke within 6 months because of the rust inside them There is always No Staff in the package pick-up room and you will need to walk to the lobby and ask the leasing staff EVERY TIME! Did cleaning thoroughly before moving out and did move-out inspection recommended by them as well. The inspector said not much issue except painting the wall which should not be more than $200. As a result, they charged almost the whole deposit for Cleaning + Painting + normal wear and tear(which existed already before moving in) Advice: Be sure to take a lot of Photos before you move in and ask them to replace all normal wear and tear stuff BEFORE moving in. Be prepared to have a lawyer for security deposit disputes. They did not include an itemized list for deductions and will delay the return of your deposit for more than 21 days (this should be illegal, waiting for more than 40 days to get it)
My wife and I have been completely satisfied with the service we receive at Trio and would definitely recommend people consider moving here.

The location is great. You can walk to everything. Only complaint is for the high price of rent you would think they would update the old style kitchens. And the paint too. The cupboards are so cheap they will start to peel after a few years and the color of the kitchen early 90’s look. They need to update for all including current tenants.
Trio Apartments offer everything I need, location and comfortable amenities.
Nice place to live, but choose an apartment on the first or second floors in order to enjoy faster elevator service and less water bills.
The maintenance group in Trio is very efficient. They usually help us fix the problem in one day.

Maintenance workers are extremely nice and all service is done timely and I really appreciate that.
We lived at Trio for a little over a year. We loved the complex and location. It's walking distance to everything. Office staff is very friendly and competent, repairs are tended to in a timely manner and the amenities are nice. We renewed our lease after the first year, and rent was increased by $50/month. The only reason we moved out is for a job opportunity out of state. The lease break was expensive (thankfully new job paid for that) but the office staff helped us navigate that with ease. The only negative is that after we moved out, we received a bill from Greystar (property management company), when we should have been receiving most of our deposit back. I immediately reached out to the office staff at Trio and they helped correct the issues with Greystar and got our check issued and mailed to us. So thankful for the great office staff!

While no rental is all upside, I like the greenery in the courtyards, and we are conveniently located to quite a few restaurants and other businesses.
