Property Ratings at Tuckernuck Trail
I’ve lived in my apartment for over a year, would not recommend signing a lease here. I live in one of the newer renovated units , I was very surprised when I moved in that there were so many issues. From unfinished bathroom construction to shorts in lights. The front office staff member Karen is very nice a helpful before you sign your lease , but as soon as your in she is almost never helpful (she is the only front office staff) , you will have to send emails upon emails to get your issues resolved. If you read the reviews for the management company which is King Properties you’ll understand why there is such bad customer service and disorganization. There isn’t any way for you to pay your rent online or at the leasing office like most apartments, you physically have to take your rent downtown to their management “corporate” office (Which looks like an episode off of hoarders , tons of paperwork everywhere) or mail it in ( which is completely inconvenient & outdated , I didn’t know this until after I signed my lease). I’m most definitely not going to renew because of my experience but I also find it odd that you can’t renew your lease even if you want to. They automatically will put you on a month to month agreement as a way to make more money off of the people that lease from them& they do not send out 60 notice to hook you (thank god I asked in a timely manner) Overall they run really janky business which is a shame because it’s a pretty nice property with great potential, it would be ALOT better if it was ran by a better management company.
I gave them a $150 "reservation fee"for the apartment i wanted and later signed the lease for. Karen called me in Florida while i was attending my brothers funeral 3 days before i was suppose to move in and told me they were changing my apartment beacuse the one i signed the lease for was not ready. When i was signing the lease Karen told me it was ready and had new carpet and paint. When i asked for my reservation fee back i was told no because they have no control af the contractors. The apartment they put me in was not move in ready and still needs a lot of work which i have reported and still is not repaired. The neighboor upstairs sounds like a heard of elephandt running around until at least 2 AM. I have complained about this an nothing has been done. They also toss their cigarette butts on my porch and patio. I have reported this and nothing has been done. They had a fire about 2 years ago caused by cigarettes
This is a terrible place don't let that good review fool you. Mr. King the owner does not care one bit about this complex. They only care about how the grass is cut or how the bushes look! What's on the inside is horrible. Avoid this place at all cost. I wish I would've believed the bad reviews years ago when I decided to move here. They only have 1 maintenance man who fixes everything. But only when Mr. King thinks it's important enough. The rental office is a front you have to pay your rent at the Willow Lawn office and they don't have a drop box or nothing. My washer was broken for 6 months before they youtubed how to fix it. My AC was broken for 2 months before they came to fix it. My AC/Water heater leaked so bad for months my neighbors below my got MOLD! And I'm sure I do too. They have so many bugs from Sliverfish to Caterpillars and when they exterminate (per your request) it does nothing. They don't update anything! They have never cleaned the chimney since I've lived here. My car was broken into. Ducks/Geese swim in the pool because neighbors feed them all of time. My list can go on and on. I would truly advise you not to move here. Do it at your own risk! I warned you! I wish I would've believed the reviews....
This is the worst of the 4 places we've lived in the west end. In the one year we lived there, we had 2 big water leaks from the unit upstairs that they took their time addressing. The first time, a hot water heater upstairs had ruptured and flooded our unit. We were confined to one bedroom for 3 days, and they ran 2 big fans on our electric bill the entire time. It took 30 days to finish doing those repairs. The second time, the AC unit in the unit above us was leaking & caused our carpets to stay wet. It even resulted in mold growing in a bedroom closet and on 2 patches of carpet in the unit. I ended up having to go to the doctor because the mold made me so sick, and believe it or not, they ended up charging US for carpet shampooing, even though this was due to their negligence. We had a leaky window for 2 weeks, and they said they came by to fix it one day, but the same paper towel I'd left in the window was STILL there when I got back and checked. The only way to address concerns is through the main office, 15 minutes away, and the supervisor will NEVER talk to you. He will only go through secretaries. You can't even pay rent on site. You have to go to this main office, which closes at 5, and is not open on weekends. There's also not a drop box, so you have to go pay rent usually in the middle of your work day, or they'll charge you a late fee. Avoid this complex and King Properties, no matter what. We were paying almost $1000 in rent, but felt like we were living in a slum. I wish I could give zero stars because this place doesn't even deserve one.
I am giving Tuckernuck Trail only one star because it wasn't possible to give them zero. Beware of this complex. Throughout my year here I have been forced to go 3 days without hot water and a week and a half without air conditioning during the heat of the summer, with no offer to provide alternate accommodations. Then when it comes time to give my notice that I'm leaving, I am told that they automatically rolled over my lease for 6 months!! What?! Now I have to pay $1500 to leave when my original lease was up! This place is a hole and they will rip you off. My recommendation is to look elsewhere.
I moved into Tuckernuck Trail apartments in March of 2015.I live in a large 1BD and 1B. I chose this apartment do to its close proximity to my job, I also liked that this particular complex isn't too large of a community; it's actually quite quaint. But with pro's there's always some cons. One of my biggest pet peeves is the dated appliances. Yes, I did look at the apartment I was moving into and knew the appliances were a little old, which was fine. However, upon using these appliances I realized that maybe having older appliances wasn't such a good idea. My dishwasher is starting to dry rot at the bottom and I refuse to use it. The microwave takes forever to heat up my food and when it is heated there's still some cooler parts of my food due to the fact the microwave does not contain a spinning plate. One day when I was cleaning out the microwave I took a glance at the manufacturing information and realized this appliance was made back in 1988.... 3 years before I was born. Another issue I have with this apartment is that the water stinks. I know that's a strange thing to say, but on multiple occasions I have used the water to wash my clothes or simply wash my hands and it has a putrid rotten egg smell. I will say maintenance is great here and have been kind enough the flush the water pipes in my apartment to try in aid in the issue. This doesn't always last though as the water will begin to start stinking again. Overall, the size of the apartment is great and I like where I'm located within the complex. I find the rent for my apartment is a little steep (790) however because I'm located close to my job and in the west end I understand I'm paying more for location than anything. I gave my apartment 3 stars because it's not great, but it's not bad either it just suits my needs at the moment.
Overall the apartment is a decent place to live. I've lived in a few different apartments here, and the only thing I can advise to be cautious on, is don't expect to get your full security deposit back... They try and keep as much of it as possible. The location is great, and the people are friendly... Most of the time maintenance is quick, but the first major issue I had(plumbing) was not handled timely at all, and I was very unhappy with that one instance... Everything has been great since then though, and I believe they do have a new maintenance staff since that instance.
Tuckernuck Trail is an amazing complex for either families with children or just a nice luxury home to enjoy yourself or with a partner. It includes a wide gated pool with complimentary grill. Both are always maintained and cleaned weekly. The area itself is like a big park for taking a nice walk with yourself or pets (did I mention they are pet friendly? Small and large pets.). The neighbors are very friendly all around the complex, it's an extremely quiet, peaceful neighborhood if that's what you're looking for. The complexes surrounding Tuckernuck Trail are just as quiet and secluded. Inside the apartment is just as beautiful as the neighborhood itself. Beautiful fireplace in the living room, vaulted ceilings, French doors, the list goes on. The apartment is fully carpeted aside from the kitchen and bathrooms. The master bedroom comes with it own big bathroom. Each bathroom has a shower/bath, huge mirror, and big beautiful sink. Not to mention the shower heads are like an amazing massage with two different settings. There is also a washer/dryer combo included. The closets in each room are perfect as they are very spacy with shoe racks installed. Plenty of space if you have a huge wardrobe. Each room also has a large window and beautiful ceiling fan installed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, oven, and double bowl sink, everything you could need. There are also very spacey cabinets under the sink. As well as above the stove, above the fridge, in between the stove and fridge, and on the other side of the kitchen up top next to the sink area. There is plenty parking, maybe more than needed which is great for me since I get off work when everyone is already home and parked. My residency here is going on 4 years and I've had no issues with bugs indoors, the maintenance crew, the rental office, or neighbors. I definitely recommend this area to anyone looking to get some peace and quiet in an affordable, luxury community. Also 1 week ago they have finished painting the entire complex down to the doors which you won't see on the actual pictures. It looks great!
