Property Ratings at Summit Hermitage
I do not recommend anybody rent here. The units are affordable, but the conditions are nearly unlivable. Our apartment had black mold, brown recluses, water damage, and leaks that never got addressed despite multiple reports. Additionally, there are gaps in all the cabinetry and drywall behind cabinetry that present a safety risk for animals and small children. Finally, the dishwasher was too filthy to function properly and the entire apartment would smell like old framing and mildew every time it rained, leading me to believe there are even more gaps not visible. We ended up having to move out due to the condition of the apartment. Tulip Grove allowed me to break the lease, but is still attempting to charge multiple fees for breaking the lease. Unless you have no other option I would recommend staying as far away from these apartments as possible. I will provide an update if we can reach an agreement about the fees.
Friendly stuff! They understand the residents needs been here 6 years going on 7 years !
Will not fix maintenance issues and won't even answer the phone. If I could leave 0 starts I would. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Your maintenance issues will be ignored, you won't ever be able to get in contact with the office if you work a normal job. I've had them come out on 3 separate occasions to fix the water heater (water leaking onto the carpet and losing hot water) and once for water coming up through the floor when it rained, having to sleep (try to sleep) with a loud fan and dehumidifier running nonstop for about 5 days each time. Oven has been broken for almost 1 and a half weeks now and still no one has come out. Dumpsters are always over flowing, you can't park in front of your own building, cockroaches EVERYWHERE, I've had 2 separate occasions of HUNDREDS of termites in the bathroom, I lose heat through all the windows (there's about a 10 degree temp. difference between the bedroom and the hallway), the front door isn't sealed properly, cabinet doors don't shut, the blinds on the windows falling apart, window seals covered in dead bugs, etc. I could go on and on about the noise and the type of awful people that live here (including myself) but the worst of them work for the property. I've ended the lease early after talking to the Regional manager (since that's the only person who will ever answer) about SOME of these issues and she even admitted fault and waved the early termination fee. These people are out to take your money and will do as little as possible in order to get it. Some one needs to shut this place down it is disgusting. Do not raise children here. Find another place I know it's the cheapest place around but you will be paying more for the headaches you will certainly be having as a result. I found a place for 20 extra bucks a month that is head and shoulders above this dump. And dump is the right word, there is trash everywhere.
In real estate, any pro will tell you: location, location, location. Tulip Grove Apartments is in the middle of everything Nashville has to offer. The community itself is across the street from Oakwood Commons shopping center; as well as 15 minutes from Opry Mills mall & exciting 2nd ave, downtown. The property is 40 years old; so the grounds have the old growth trees, & lush lawn that set the stage for nice walks in the evening. The grounds are a great piece of nature; nestled in the urban borough of Hermitage, TN. Amenities, including a 3'-9' pool, & a laundry room. It's a great place to live.
When I moved to Nashville, I picked Tulip Grove as a temporary landing spot - they offer 6-month leases, low deposits and were willing to let my brother, who lived in the area, come check things out for me. They also let him pick up keys for the apartment so that when my dad and I arrived with all my possessions, we could move straight in. My six-month temporary lease ran out three years ago. I've stayed because... why not? I've looked around Nashville for another apartment, but for the price of Tulip Grove, there's nothing that compares. Tulip Grove is quiet, green, and really pretty awesome. Sure, my kitchen isn't newly renovated and doesn't have granite counters, but I do have a parking space every night, washer/dryer hookups, responsive maintenance people, a pool and a view of a pretty creek that runs through the complex. Management takes good care of the property - and this shows in the landscaping and in the routine maintenance done in every apartment once a quarter (they come in, replace air filters, smoke alarm batteries and clean out the dryer vents - things renters often don't think about). I adore my apartment and, thanks to the management at Tulip Grove, really can't see any reason to move in the near future (unless I land a job somewhere far away, like... Franklin).
