Property Ratings at Turnberry Wells
I've lived here for many years and I wouldn't live anywhere else in Newport News. For the square footage, price, maintenance and amenities you cant beat it! Office staff and maintenance are so great. 10/10 recommend to everyone i know.
All the reviews you read about roaches .. are an understatement. These are Cockroaches! Huge and they fly. It’s so bad that the rental office has a contract with a pest control company and you have to get your name on the list every Wednesday to get your unit sprayed on fridays . The staff isn’t friendly and the rental office smells like a pack of Marlboros! Run! Look elsewhere!
Everyone on here talking about roaches is speaking the truth. I'm a current resident here and the office does nothing to fix the issue. There remedy is "Treating" your home but that doesn't solve the problen. More continue to come in and they even offered roach traps which to me is a big slap to my face as a tenant
I wish I could rate them a zero! Very unprofessional and rude

Please understand that every apartment community is going to have their own rental criteria that they must adhere to while trying to approve an applicant. We are very sorry that as hard as we tried we could not approve you and wish you all the best on your apartment search. Turnberry Wells Staff
I have lived here almost two years, I find the staff and maintenance to be very prompt and courteous. My two bedroom townhome is very spacious and like not having anyone above me or below. My surroundings are quiet and yet I am close to everything I need. Highly recommend Turnberry.

Shannon, Thank You for taking the time to write a review, a kind word is always greatly appreciated.
I recently moved into my townhome, here at Turnberry Wells. The apartment is very spacious, so much more room than my old place. The kitchen is beautiful and I love my patio area. I had one or two small issues when I moved in but maintenance was here that day and took care of it. Management seems very concerned and willing to assist me. Looking forward to enjoying my new home for years to come.
The staff is fun, treats you like respected members of the community. They do everything they can to get things done. The townhomes have great square footage, awesome new upgraded kitchens with stainless steal appliances. I love living here. Kids enjoy the basketball court and play ground, spending time at the pool. Our dog has fun going to the dog park, gives him time to burn energy and get exercise. And do not forget the price for the size is a steal.
The space of the rental is truly all it has going for it. It will lull you into renting. But it is SO not worth the money. The buildings are poorly maintained and require constant upkeep. Every bathroom has issues with the faucets never shutting off or the toilet piping being leaky or loose. We have a refrigerator that shuts off or "shutters" with power surges. Our "pantry" is actually the water heater closet and furnace space. We have had constant water leaks and now even an electrical issue that I'm certain is not up to code. The home never heats or cools evenly. We have a fireplace but have been "advised" that using it may not be a wise decision. Never has it ever been cleaned or maintained. Our back patio storage is falling to pieces and nearly unusable. There has been an increase in crime and now there are more security guards that patrol at random times. They need to be run by a REAL management company like community partners in Yorktown. So far it is laughable at best to call this a good place to rent or raise a family. RUN away from this property.
These townhouses are reasonably priced for the amount of space you get. But that's about it, our "pantry" is where our water heater is, so we only use it as a closet with a broom! Our full bathroom is right above that utility room and it has had water running down the walls since the day we moved in, I called in a work order and maintenance came out and said they couldn't do anything about it because it was a old building. During the summer we have HUGE roaches (waterbug ones) but they're HUGE! even with an exterminator coming out it did not help. My husband and I cannot wait for our lease to be up!
Turnberry is a very quite neighborhood to live in , and the apartments is very very spacious, they were built some time ago so some appliances my be older but it's somewhere you can call home
I love living here!Beautiful landscape, bridge to pool and shortcuts to shopping center.fitness center with all the works and a basketball court.24 hour security so I always feel safe and maintenance has always came within hours of me calling . extremely large townhouse with utilities included, doesn't get any better than this
I haven't move in yet but my first impression is that the whole community is very clean and well-maintained. It has very nice and organized floor plans. The staff is very friendly and approachable, I can't wait to move in there next week.
Turnberry Wells is a very nice community to be apart of. I moved into the area last year and have been very happy with my home. Just like every community or home you may have the company of an unwanted insect. Turnberry Wells does a very good job of keeping them out.
The Management and Maintenance Staff are ALWAYS kind and friendly and when something (no matter what) is brought to their attention - it is addressed immediately. It is a wonderful community to live in with all types of shopping and lots of local eateries nearby.

Turnberry Wells' goal has always been to provide our Residents with a clean , safe and comfortable place to call home. Staff and Maintenance is here to meet our Resident's needs and desires.
From day one of living within the town home I was greeted by a dead very large roach in the kitchen sink. Within the first week we were visited by several of the roaches living family members, larger than him. When it was brought to Managements attention they claimed they never had any roaches before. In speaking to several other tenants that have been here for years, they said it's always been this way and never tended to. In 9 months only 2 exterminators entered my home. Placing a sticky roach trap under the stove, was all that was done. Never would I recommend this place to anyone.
