Property Ratings at Twelve55 Living
There have been countless break ins since I have started living here this summer. Whether or not you parked in the gated parking lot, no one is safe from a break in.
I have applied to this property, but have not gotten any follow through from management or anyone working there. I have called 3-4 times with the promise of a call back with information about the process of my application, to the point where I was promised a call back 30 minutes later after my application was reviewed, but that did not happen. Before even seeing this property or visiting, this has been a frustrating process and I have given up.
I have been living her almost two years and have had to put 15 maintenance requests in. Everything from the door handles falling off to the cabinet doors coming down. When we moved in our fridge would constantly stop working. We submitted multiple requests which would get it working for about a week. Costed us a bunch of money in wasted food. We were then told that we would be charged if it stopped working again because it was our fault. When it stopped working again I demanded they replace it. It’s been fine since we got a new one so i guess it wasn’t our fault after all. Recently our bathroom has been getting mold on the ceiling. We’ve put in multiple maintenance requests in which they simply wipe it off or paint over it. The property management has made multiple side comments saying that maybe we take too hot of showers or we are the ones causing it in some way. Today the entire bathroom ceiling started leaking. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LIVE.
Probably 3 stars was a bit nice. Rent isn't worth the price to live here though it is expensive everywhere nearby as well. I hate that I can hear almost everything that my neighbors upstairs does. The walls are not that strong when it comes to being soundproof or at least almost. Example: I don't want to hear their bed shaking from hanky panky nor do I enjoy hearing them sing or rap in the bathroom upstairs while I shower. Space is really small if you have a lot of stuff. But good side is that they keep their complex clean often and keep their maintenance up. Few spiders come in from time to time too, especially since we live near the river. Worst part is that parking is first come first serve. I've lived here for a couple years when management changed and I don't understand how there are so many residents with cars. Landlord gave way too many permits more than the parking spots itself. I work a night shift and won't usually be home until midnight or 3am so I would have to park across the street and wake up at 9am just to move my car and park it so I don't get a ticket (need e a residential permit to park across the street). Also, it's individual leasing so you are responsible for your portion of rent.
The place is pretty decent for a student housing place with great amenities and various facilities and services (pool, study room, gym, barbecue area, clean and neat laundry rooms, night security...). My daughter lives here for two years now sharing a one bedroom with a friend. The staff in the office is very helpful and responsive. I recommend the place!
The place is noisy and full of drug users. The smell of marijuana smoke hangs in the noisy hallways. Apartment parties start around 11:00 pm in room 130 and it goes on until the early morning hours. If you are underage and want to use drugs this place is for you. Girls are yelling in the night and morning hours as if they are raped. When you wash you close in the washing machines, your clothes will smell like someone’s dirty gym bag and sweaty socks. The property manager is nice, and she gives out too many parking permits resulting in an overcrowded parking area and not enough parking for the residents. Make sure you have good auto insurance because your car will be broken into while parked in the gated area. The street is worse because you will get a ticket or be towed after 10:00 am. If you get a ground floor apartment, you will have an added bonus of listening to the tenants walking on the squeaky poorly installed laminated floors above you. It is so loud it will keep you awake so you can study easily through the night. This fun hole is for drug users what do not like to sleep and love a noisy environment. This place has many leasing rules, but no one bothers to enforce them. If you lucky your car might get towed because residence/tenants frequently complain to the property management towing company. This place offers unlimited action, and it is the place to live if you not serious about your studies and want to just mess around for a year or less and then go and flip some burgers. Twelve 55 Living might just be the best place for you.
