Property Ratings at Twin Lakes Apartments
I didn’t even have the chance to move in due to a medical emergency, but these people have NO problem keeping my money. I have been trying to get an answer for a month know regarding my security deposit but I have yet to get an answer. Please don’t waste your money!
Property Manager at Twin Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused, we will endeavour to ensure such a situation does not arise again in the future.
Please I beg you, don't live here. They will screw you out of money, sanity, and pure happiness in life. This community was so loud, you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. People playing right outside your bedroom windows, cars that are right outside your windows and will wake you up all the time. Leaf blowers at 8am so if you didn't sleep you still can't sleep. They told me everything was included (fully furnished), totally not true. No one walks into your apartment with you so when you do leave they blame you for everything (coming or going). Maintenance doesn't get back to you and doesn't respect the comments you leave to call or make an appointment. I really really hate these people. They screwed me out of thousands. Don't let them do the same to you.
Any sign for a place the Solomon Organization owns says “Another fine community by the Solomon Organization”. However, this apartment complex is everything but fine (unless you want squirrels for pet). There have been squirrels in our attic for months and now have dug holes through our ceiling that are still unfixed. They had someone set traps but they are not in the proper location so they have done nothing. Sometimes the shower and other water faucets/toilets shoot out air instead of water making it very hard to do tasks such as showering or washing your hands. The kitchen has barely any cabinet space and the dishwashers barely clean the dishes. We also had no where to park for quite some time because the garage doors broke and no one fixed them. So I would rethink living here if you thought it looked nice.

Excessive noise from neighbors upstairs. Pest infested units. Too many problems with apartments. Neighbors leave dog waste in front of apartment, others smoking and living cigarette but at entrance of unit. Be advised, I would stay away from this slum. Can't wait to get the hell out of this slum
Property Manager at Twin Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello Rex, We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing these issues. Please reach out to our office to discuss your concerns. We value your residency and would be happy to speak with you.
This apartment complex has had 4 fires in the 5 years ive lived here and even more prior to me moving in, 2 of which have resulted in buildings being demolished and rebuilt, their maintenance team is not timely unless you constantly bother the leasing office, they say they will return to finish a job and rarely do, i would not recommend this to a friend or family member ever! They band-aid fix things and dont properly take care of things, AC units needing to be refilled every year instead of finding the leak and fixing it is a great example of this, and the only time they actually replace anything is when it is old enough that it catastrophically fails.
Property Manager at Twin Lakes Apartments, Responded To This Review

Been living here for years and we are Happy!!! Thanks Liz and staff for all you do!
First day in the apartment the toilet was broken, there were empty beer cans and cigarette boxes that came with the apartment, old dirty carpet, dishwasher was filthy, covered in dust and infested with fleas. Do not live here.
If you like mold, mice, bugs, crazy neighbors, cold walls and floors during winter and money hungry landlords this place has all above. By far worst company! I could go on for hours with how horrible this place is! It may be pet friendly but they didnt clean up after their contractors and there is nails everywhere around the buildings. Non safe rock salt and infested with squirrels, cats and geese.
The owners do not care about the residents at all! A true bait and switch tactic offer low rates to get you in the door and raising rent hundreds of dollars the following year! Beware: the pet deposit only covers the luxury of owning a pet and NO DAMAGES! They hide this in a lease addendum, read carefully! Also note, not in the lease agreement, they will walk through your apartment with a black light after you move out. The living experience on top of these things were less than ideal for a family. A clutter filled entry way which we complained about was never resolved despite it being a fire hazard and against policy as well as there were multiple moments where empty beer bottles and other used unsanitary products were left in the parking lot by our apartment. This was a horrible experience all around and I would never let my family or friends rent from this property owner!
I've lived her for 3 years with no real complaints. I moved to the area after finishing grad school. I did not know the difference between Clifton Park or Troy or Saratoga or Latham. I met some people at a work outing and one said that her grandparents used to live in Twin Lakes and while they were somewhat pricey, I should check them out. The leasing agents were a little different then the other communities I looked at. They were relaxed and down to earth and I didn't feel like I was "being sold" something. Things were cut and dry as far as move in costs and deposits. The only thing that was a pain was the National Grid and Nyseg utility companies wanted a meter read and they wanted ME to do it. This is not the office staff's fault, more of a utility company fault. I thought they would have sent someone or something. I asked the office and they seemed frustrated right along with me. They called the utility companies on my behalf and got it straightened out for me, but what a hassle. After that, zero issues since. I walk my dog around the lake everyday. Other dogs he has came in contact with are friendly. My fiancé and I utilize the tennis court, and they have catch and release fishing, which I personally could care less about, but it's offered. We sit in the grass by the lake and it's very nice. We should have paid for a lake view because the fountains are so nice. Our apartment is very spacious (2bd/2bath) and we even have a switch that heats the bathroom. Not the floors but a bathroom overhead vent heater which is a nice perk. Garage parking is offered, but we don't use it. Lastly, the location. You cannot hear the highway and it's close to...EVERYTHING. We have rode our bicycles to the movie theater once, just because. I wish Sitterly Rd. had a sidewalk, but again that's not the office that's the town or county or something. We hear ambulance on route 9 from time to time but overall I think the community is quiet. If you stop by the office, I love those girls they make me laugh so hard sometimes, tell them Brett H. sent you over. I think they'll know who I am.
Don't even bother living here. There's plenty of other places to live in the capitol region that its not even worth staying here for the cheap rent. You get what you pay for; The outside may look nice but inside everything is falling apart, and maintenance is a joke so good luck trying to find someone to fix it! No one picks up after their pets and there's litter everywhere. Staff sucks at handling basically anything, even when I put a complaint in about noisy neighbors. Stayed here for two years and I'm counting down the days until my lease is up. Good riddance!
Apartment complex looks fairly good on the outside, and even pretty decent on the inside, especially after the recent remodel. Got new windows, patio door, and patio deck/railing. However, typical corporate America-type business where they charge as much as possible, and give you as little as possible, so they can make the biggest profit. A prime example is their non-existent maintenance team. When you call them or actually run into them in person, they're great. Super friendly and seem helpful. Then when you need something from them, no answer. Just about 6 weeks ago, we got an email saying they would be around shortly to check all of our smoke detectors. 2 weeks ago they sent us a letter saying they would ve coming around the following Tuesday. They still have yet to show. At face value, seems like a pretty decent place to live. After being a resident, I'd rather try somewhere else. If it weren't for the steep discount they give me because my roommate is in the Navy, we'd be long gone.
Besides the rough time we've had getting our carpets cleaned and the current mold we have it's not that bad. The neighbors and neighborhoods are nice, and the area is beautiful. The apartments are fairly priced and Maitenence is kind and helpful. We'll probably be staying here until we're done with school, although our neighbors been here for 27 years.
We lived here for a year. We had a mice infested apartment. They attempted to fix it. Then just told us they had no idea where they were coming from. You could hear them in the walls. We had a police chase through the back of the apartment as they busted a guy for dealing drugs out of his apartment. When we went to leave they told us we owed them rent for the next month. We gave a 30 day notice at the end of our lease. They needed a 60 day notice. But failed to notify us that they were automatically renewing our lease. It stated in our lease we would be contacted through certified letter to renew. Never happened. You can hear everything that is you on above you. Most balconies in our building were unusable They were rotting away. I did not feel safe there. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
As you drive up to the Twin Lakes property, you will first seems one of two lakes, each with its own fountain. In the summer time you will also see the wild geese sunning themselves there. Fishing is permitted however you must throw back what you catch. Once on the property you will want to visit the clubhouse, a large gathering area that's great for parties, meetings, etc. The clubhouse has kitchen facilities, his and hers bathrooms, a working gas fireplace and an extra large television. It is available for rental year round. Take the tour and you will discover that there is also a health club, basketball court and tennis court, as well as an inground pool on the premises. What's more, several of the apartment layouts include sunken living rooms and decorative fireplaces. All units include washer/dryer hookups. Such is the ambience of Twin Lakes, located in Clifton Park, New York, a lovely development spread over 70 beautifully landscaped acres. The apartments come in one, two and three bedroom units and feature walk-in closets as well as central air and heat. Each unit comes with outside storage space, parking space and outside terrace space. And don't worry about your furry little friends because Twin Lakes is also pet friendly. Best of all, you're only about a 10 minute drive to the mall, the movie theater, bowling alley, the supermarket, the library (where you can make use of the Copy Center and fax),the post office and the DMV. And once you settle in you can take your pick of restaurants including Panera, Cracker Barrel, TGI Fridays, Red Robin, Olive Garden (to name a few) all within a 10 to 15 minute drive. Alternatively you can also order takeout or delivery from places like Pizza Hut and Domino's, chinese or or italian, etc. Monthly rents are relatively stable. For example, my one bedroom has a base rent of $874. I pay $930 which includes $24 per month for water and sewer, $7 per month for refuse removal and $25 a month pet fee. However, corporate month to month leases are also available. Take I-87 to Route 9 and Twin Lakes is located at 1-A Lakeview Drive just off Sitterly Road between Exit 8-A and 9.
I needed a place to live and I needed to move in quickly- like yesterday quickly. Unfortunately; like most things in my life that are important and involve a firm deadline- I let my search for shelter more of an open-ended "To Do (at some point...maybe)" rather than a "Do NOW !" 'Well don!e, huzzah!' - CORRECT! ... What can I say- I like to take risks. I found Twin Lakes on apartment finder- and when I arrived at the leasing office - everyone working was SOOO kind!, I was given a property tour, (the grounds, the lakes, the pool and gym), and then I was shown multiple units so I could choose what works for me. without a place to live- I was ready for anything- now I have my ownn space, a townhouse that allows my my 100lb boxer to stretch out comfortibly. The Leasing and the Billing staff is exceptional!
