These are all the issues this apartment needs to address to be more competitive: Outdated fridge, outdated washer/dryer, very small kitchen sink, old/stained carpet in bedroom, cracks in window foundations (dirt and bugs get in all the time), small bathroom sink and counter, small/outdated toilet, poor shower water pressure, outdated shower head and drain (clogs a lot), and cockroaches get in frequently. You can find better value elsewhere for the same or slightly higher rent.

The floor plan for the 1 bedroom is quite nice and open. I get lots of compliments when people come to visit. The grounds are well maintained (although too many residents leave dog waste around). Maintenance requests are handled promptly and well, and the staff does a great job of communicating with the community. The garbage situation is inadequate. The compactor is regularly overflowing, and the cardboard recycling bin is routinely inaccessible due to an overflow of boxes. The smaller recycling bins are likewise almost always full and it's difficult to find one to deposit into. The gate situation: I chose this community over some others because of the extra security that comes with a gated entrance. Unfortunately, the gates are wide open about 25 - 40% of the time. Even when they're operational, it is IMPOSSIBLE to prevent cars from piggy-backing through (I have tried), rendering the whole point of gates utterly useless.

I lived at this complex for 2.5 years, and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. While I adored my quaint apartment, the top-notch maintenance staff, and the friendships I built during my time there, the leasing staff became increasingly difficult to work with. Upon my move out, I had several questions to ensure I would not be charged additional fees. The staff did not seem to think my questions were important and delayed in answering me. It was upsetting that even though I had spent so much money and time in this complex they did not treat me as a valued resident.

The apartment unit itself I love. I love the floor plan, and the grounds are kept up very well. Full-size washer and dryer in unit is big plus. Management staff seems to care about the tenants. My friends and family are impressed with my apartment. But the HUGE negative of this place is the garbage situation. Tyvola Centre has 403 apartments spread out among 17 buildings. There is ONE dumpster for the entire complex! It is located in the middle, and personally I have to take my garbage in the car because it is too far to walk. The dumpster is almost always overflowing, and it is woefully inadequate for a complex of this size. I am truly amazed of this setup! There is also a recycling center which is equally inadequate for a complex this size. Sadly, I feel compelled to throw my recyclables out with the rest of my household trash. If it wasn't for the garbage situation, this property would be 5 stars.

This place is awesome. I have lived here for a few years, and the office and maintenance staff are stellar. The location is perfect for traveling out of town for work. The landscaping is stellar, and you can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in the place. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

Basically the leasing office staff treat the residents as Trash and are rude as much as they can. I will provide very simple example: A letter was delivered by USPS to my apartment mailbox by mistake , so handed over the letter to leasing office and was told they would call the owner of the letter.Today received call from the owner of the letter stating they dint have the letter.So when we asked the leasing office staff about the letter they first denied getting letter and disconnected the call, when we both parties went to the leasing office the lady in the leasing office was very rude to us and then she changed her s to statement may be we got it i dnt remember i meet so many people(agreed) but why are you being mean to the people who are resident . No apologies at all , we are asked to leave the place.This is really disrespectful. Thank you for sowing where the residents stand when they need help. This is case of a letter, this has happened for cheques given for rent . then later they came back saying someone had kept is somewhere else(yes i do have proof) If u cannot be responsible at least be polite.

The management is fully Money mind be ready pay more when you move out. I was charged totally $900. The kitchen counter top $550 for joint miss alignment. I forgot got mention during move in but they never accepted our concern. My 2 friends recently moved in had same issues I alert them to mention it. The maintenance came and put clamp for joint to match. Means they get money from previous renter but not replacing. If you missed to mention in move in check list then will charged you when move out. Carpet replacement $340 , we handover same condition when move in. Micro oven door $134. I sent pictures to show cracks and asked someone to show us, but no one came till move out. If decide move in please mention all in move in check list for Happy move out.
DO NOT RENT APARTMENT HERE IN THIS COMMUNITY. This community has worst management team ever. Recently there have been home breakages, car breakages, car thefts happening and management does not take responsibility too. Tyvola center apartments should install surveillance cameras throughout community as well as entrance gates. Community also lacks street lights and most of the times dark.. This community charges big time while moving out or for lease breakage but does not provide necessary safety facilities for its residents. This is very very very bad.

This apartment is conveniently located close to Costco, Publix, Walmart and other utility needs. The leasing team is great and they address any problems with ease. I like the maintenance team too. They are polite and attend to work on time. I even had an emergency water leakage issue and they acted on it very promptly. The only concern or drawback in this community is there is no control on the residents and their activities. I see houses with crazy & scary decorations on the front door, common areas painted with decorative powder, lamps lit across the passageway which is really dangerous. Mostly looks like some voodoo magic crap with black threads hanging out, lemons painted in red color!!! I used to take evening walks as this community has good landscapes. I mostly see clothes hanging out in the balcony, trash placed all over the dumpster area. Many of these are mentioned a strict 'no' in the leasing terms. But no one intend to follow these and may be the leasing office also does not care much about this. If you are ok to take these lightly, then u can consider this to a good place to live in.

This apartment looks good to stay as outfit is really good. But when you will leave , be ready for a huge charge imposed by them I stayed here for around 2 years when i left this community 3 month back, they did a initial inspection on which they found every thing is good condition. But after i left, they charge me 1600 $ for maintenance repair plus 2500 $ for lease breakage even after giving 2 month notice. When i sent them my old inspections report which was done just 10 days back, they said that it was not final and they used to do that a final inspection. Even in past when i was looking for apartment, my friend give me a red signal for that to whom they charge 4 month rental and 700 $. Also check the school for this apartment community before taking your decision.

Thefts, robberies have become common with this apartment. Maintenance is also horrible. They might sneak in without leaving a note which is also bothering.

Do not consider living here. The only reason you can consider to living here is the timely transport to down-town. This is the worst place you can possibly pick in Charlotte. I stayed here for one year. The Property management is the worst and tries to get money out of you every chance they have, especially when you leave this apartment. They charged me $1500 for Carpet replacement, Tub resurfacing, Counter-top replacement ... what not. The management will renovate the apartment with your hard earning money. The property management team will not consider to repair anything instead they will replace it and charge you. There is no wear & tear concept in their books. The Apartment design was not well designed, even in double bedroom Apartment you'll not get much space to live comfy. Lot of space is wasted in the form of Foyer & passages. In that way, the ventilation is a big question. Maintenance wise, the maintenance team will not resolve the issue in single attempt, you need to follow-up and raise new requests to get it resolved. The Property Management feedback mechanism is big joke, as nobody will act on your feedback. Also the security wise, in the beginning the packages were collected by Leasing office, then they started allowing Courier vans inside. Then what’s the point of living in a Gated community?
