Property Ratings at Union at Cooper Hill
“Serious health & safety issues at The Union at Cooper Hill. Lead hazards, fire safety neglect, and poor maintenance ignored. Tenants deserve better conditions and accountability!”
Property Manager at Union at Cooper Hill, Responded To This Review
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience and we take your concerns very seriously. We strive to maintain a high standard of living for all our residents. Your feedback is invaluable and we will ensure it is addressed appropriately. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The rent is overpriced for the quality of the apartments. The walls are thin. The cabinets are messed up and won’t even close. The staff is rude. The staff told me one thing before signing my lease, and three months later I called asking about it and was rudely told that the conversation I had with one of their employees “never happened” and that I was lying. The staff seems nice while you’re looking to rent, but once you rent, their attitude completely changes.
So if you want an honest review about The Union and Arlington Properties please read! I am going to start off with STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I lived at 1525 APT G. I knew the second I moved-in May 2019 it was going to be problematic. To kind of give you a summary of the management team and the owner of this property - No matter how many issues you run into they do not care. If you like drug deals going down outside your apartment this is the place for you. If you like seeing domestic disputes and women getting beat by their boyfriends this is the place for you. If you like having your possessions broken or people trying to steal from you this is the place for you. If you like to wake up with a parking lot full of trash because of your neighbors this is the place for you. Right now my apartment is for rent they have yet to replace the carpet even though I was a second person to live with the current carpet that is in there. I had a dog in their so the carpet needs replaced. My neighbors already verified that they did not replace the carpet. There is mold behind the wall where the stove, washer dryer and closet meet. They are aware of all of this and they refused to properly fix it. They were supposed to remove all of the walls and put new drywall in but that never happened. The last two months I was living there I had constant headaches and was sick due to this. If you don’t believe me move your stove out and unscrew that sidewall where your water heater is and you will see all the mold, trash and debris they refuse to clean up whenever they come to work. You will feel a bump in the floor and that’s due to them having to rip the floor up because it was covered in mold and the only reason that happened was because I started to rip the floor up to show them it was covered in mold. So there’s still more there.
??Alert everyone there has been many robberies and NOTHING has been done to secure the safety of the residence. There has been many complaints to the manager (Cindy) but then again nothing has been done. This place clearly does not care for the safety of your family! I do not live there but my brother and sister-in-law do and I have personally have gone to the office many times to let them know something has to be done to the carpet and A/C system. When my sister in-law went to few the place they had showed her a different unit similar to the one they are now. But when they finally moved in it was not the same. On the carpet there was "layers" of pet hair we thought if we vacuum it was going to be all over. We ended up vacuum 10X and a tone of hair was still coming out (never ends)!! We also washed the carpet 5x and still disgusting! I'm a pet lover but what I saw was the negligence on how this place was given to them, I was furious I went to talk to the manager and couldn't get a hold of her (Cindy). Later my fiance discovered the A/C system and when he saw it he was disgusted, there was black mold inside the A/C system (this is his job, he is an A/C mechanic build them and installs them). Black mold is something every dangerous for anyone to breath. The next morning I had gone to the office and asked to speak to the manager, didn't find her but left my cell # and email with her secretary so Cindy can contact me. I have kept going back but she is usually never there. All she kept saying when I finally got ahold of her was that someone will come by and check it out. They still haven't done anything!!!! ??This place is NOT safe for you or your family!!??
Living here now. It looks nothing like the pictures. I have 6 months left on my lease and I am dreading this. The walls are thin, I constantly smell drugs and cigarette smoke and loud noises outside. I don't feel safe here nor do I like waking up to the smell of drugs all over my apartment. DO NOT RENT HERE.
I’ve been here since October 2017 and love it! I’m in very short walking distance of Publix, Walmart, and numerous restaurants and banks. Credtwood park is about 3 minutes away & is very nice. The elementary & middle school are also minutes. The interior of my apartment is lovely. Granite countertops, beautiful floors, and all new appliance (including a washer/dryer). Every time someone sees the inside of my apartment they are stunned at how nice it is! Lastly, the staff at the Union at Cooper Hill are awesome! Cyndi (the manager) is great and always does whatever she can to accommodate me in regard to any issues I’ve had. Also, the maintenance staff always responds to my inquiries ASAP and are always pleasant.
These newly renovated apartments are awesome! Everything looks nice, including the grounds and the office/maintenance staff is always willing to help.
Love my open floor plan and full size washer/dryer connections. The new cabinets, floors and the granite counter tops sold me. Maintenance is quick and on top of things. They know my name on the property and some of the staff members live here as well. The neighbors look out for each other and has good community vibe. Pet friendly and like the fact that We Talk Dog so close so i can drop off/pick up my pup easy before and after work. The parking lot was a little dark at night when i first moved in but the owners put in all new LED lights that solved that problem. It feels like day time at night.. would recommend getting curtains if you are light sensitive. - Sara Beth
The loft apartments at Union are a hidden gem. They don't advertise as broadly as some properties but found their lofts on an online ad and love it. Great value and perfect live/work space. The leasing team was great to work with and I'm pleased with the quality of the renovations. Starbucks, Win Dixie, Publix, Walmart are within walking distance. Nice to have these so close. Overall, pleased with my experience. I didn't know about this place until i saw the online ad then a friend told me they knew someone who lived here and they too were also pleasantly surprised after touring. Two thumbs up. Karen C.
I moved in after touring several properties in the southside/highland neighborhood. I was greeted by friendly staff and appreciated the variety of floor plans offered at Union. The renovations are much nicer than I anticipated. I have had a few work orders since my move, but the staff has responded timely and are very friendly. The maintenance team is polite and professional unlike my past apartment home. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a quiet home with modern finishes for reasonable rent. Other communities like this cost at least $200/more/month. Short commute to my job downtown :) I just renewed another year and think I'll stay a while. - Gail
I love my new apartment! I like how they have the kitchen open to the Living room perfect for entertaining and TV watching while cooking. everything new is wonderful too. I also like that I am so close to all the good places to eat in town. The maintenance guy is super nice and always helpful. The girls in the office greet me even when they are out doing something else on the property. I have suggested her to all my friends that do not want to deal with traffic and need to be close to downtown.
Moved here over a month ago worst apartment I ever had! "Renovated"is the wrong word "patched up " is more like it.., if you have a maintenance issue here you are better off doing it yourself because it will never happen. Bug infestation in my unit!!! Pest control has came out and I have sprayed 500 times the bugs will not die and the staff doesn't give a crap about anything that goes on here .. the "new" unit I have has major issues that were poorly done, not done, rushed on and not surveyed before we moved in... not a place to call home I hate coming home...1 maintenance person can no way handle a small but big complex that has so much potential, but not a one person that is employed onsite here that cares and does anything. Manager and staff are rude, heartless, unprofessional and they all need a hug! Run don't move here!! You will regret it!
Bug infestation in my unit, they remodeled the kitchen and that's all, they don't care about the unit you are in and barely take care of it, they have one maintenance guy taking care of 60 units and when someone is at the office they are just rude. For the price it's ridiculous! Trash is piled up on the side of dumpsters because they attend to them once a week. You will only regret this choice.
This is a Great Apartment Complex. Nice, quite, if any problems day are night, problem is fixed timely manner. The Apartments are called The Regency, but is part of Red Rock group.I have alot of fast food restaurant choose from. There is aslo 3 main Grocery stores with in walking distance. They are Wal-Mart, Publex, and Winn-Dixie.
a nice community, but no one staff there on the weekends to assist.
