Property Ratings at The Union on 28th
I normally do not write reviews but Union on 28th is the most unprofessional apartment complex I have ever encountered. If I could vote negative 5 stars I would. First of all it’s hard to get in contact with the office. The phone always rings and allows you to leave a voicemail that they never return. Laundry room is horrendous and sometimes you have to go through the WINDOW because the KEY won’t work. Can’t even use the swimming pool in my 10 months of living here. They also have a bug problem that they don’t care to resolve. They did their semi annual inspection of the apartments which was fine. But when they inspected my apartment, for whatever reason, they decided to leave KEYS in my UNLOCKED apartment door to allow anyone to enter my apartment. They left my home unlocked until I returned home 5 hours later. Thankfully, I have a security in my home and I know when the doors have been opened and close. This happened last Tuesday may 3rd, I called the office and left a voicemail Wednesday to voice my concern. Called again Thursday and Friday with no answer. Due to my work hours I was unable to go into the leasing office until Friday evening. When i went to return the keys to the leasing office the woman advised me the property manager would be made aware and call me. She essentially blamed the maintenance team. I did not get a call back, even when I went back Monday afternoon into the office to advise I have not received a phone call. It’s now been a week and I haven’t heard back. I’m livid and was already not renewing the lease and cannot wait for the day I move out! They play with your safety and then do not even care enough to address the concerns of their poorly executed team. Absolutely the WORST complex ever. I blame the maintenance team AND the property manager for not doing their due diligence. How do you FORGET A WHOLE SET OF KEYS? The apartment number on the keys isn’t even mine. I should of taken a video but I was just so appalled. Hopefully the next time their team leaves another apartment unlocked nothing worse happens. My goal was for the property manager to understand that this was not okay and to fix the process going forward. But they don’t even care enough to improve.
So we moved in the end of February and now we are moving out the second week of May the reason is because our unit has had multiple issues including leaks mold and other things.
Apartment comes with too many problems, A/C didn’t work for a few days and they refused to check it because it looked good from the outside. They didn’t bother to fix any damages from the previous tenant and just painted over everything expecting it to look nice, cabinets aren’t aligned properly which results in not being able to close them, “new” flooring is just glued on poorly plus wall trims not cut to length. Management doesn’t seem to care when problems are brought up and the area is filled with homeless people but other than that it could be worse.
Property Manager at The Union on 28th, Responded To This Review
We strive to create a pleasant and welcoming environment for new residents. We apologize this was not your experience during move-in. Please let us know in person what we can do to address any pending concerns. Thank you.
Ive lived here for two years and even though new management took over in January 2021, pool still has not been working. we have to pay for an amenity fee yet there are no amenities! dog park has never been cleaned or sanitized. The are upping our rent by 400 extra, and I refuse to pay that so im moving. There are police here all the time and tons of drug addicts. don't move here.
Property Manager at The Union on 28th, Responded To This Review
While we appreciate you leaving our team some feedback, Mikoali, we're disappointed to learn that your experiences here have ultimately left something to be desired. We understand that first impressions are important when moving into a new home and we are sorry that your home did not live up to your expectations. We would greatly appreciate an opportunity to work with you to get your stay with us back on track. We're proud of the five-star environment we've established here over the years, and we remain committed to improving our service as opportunities arise. In any case, please reach out to us as soon as possible so we can discuss resolutions for your issues.
Apartment was NOT move in ready. However they did take the $3,500 and moved me in. My toilet wasn’t connected, my front door was missing the weather strip(so say hello to heat and bugs) My closet was broken(rail completely cracked and off the wall), my sink nozzle just hangs and drips, my light switch is upside down and not the correct fixture. My fridge doesn’t open all the way. So I’m unable to use the left side of my drawers, And to top it all off…. IT WONT ALL BE FIXED FOR A WEEK! How would you feel if you went to buy a car dealer, you gave them 3,500 they gave you the keys, you started the car, the tire fell off, the AC wasn’t working properly and your breaks were shot? Then when you said hey my cars not working, you were told, “we’ll get to that in a week.” You’d be upset they were quick to take your money and gave you a busted car. That’s how this feels! I’m not going to tell anyone to move here or not. I’m just telling you what happened with me. That’s all
