Property Ratings at Union Square Apartment Homes
The apartments were built within the last 5 or so years and they are all visually good looking and reasonably priced. I only lived here for one year. My electrical bills were $250+/mo because nearly half of the livable space in the apartment was above two unheated garages. It was physically painful to walk on the floors if the temperature outside dropped below 30 degrees. I had to setup a large box fan in the hallway to push warm air from the bedrooms to the living room, otherwise the bedrooms would be 85+ degrees and the living room would be 65 degrees. It did not get better in the summer, it was just the opposite problem. The bedrooms would be 65 degrees and the living room would be 75+.
Property Manager at Union Square Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. If you can reach out to us we'd be happy to talk more about this.
1. The only reason to consider Union square would be for their floor plan. 2. Thin walls and not well sound proofed, so if your neighbor is “sensitive” to noise be prepared to get constant emails from the property manager telling you to change your speakers, and volume level set to 25% or less even if the very same neighbor is being aggressive with banging on the walls when there was nothing being played. That’s just bad management and the property manager doesn’t seem to be fair in her judgement. 3. During renewal along with the increase in rent the management will force the residents to use their internet plan, which means you need to cancel the current internet plan and be forced to use theirs.
We moved in about a year ago. When we first moved in we were very happy. The property management team was very attentive, the grounds were nicely kept and we were living quite comfortably. Winter came and we were a bit less happy to find our neighbors helping us shovel our walkways every time it snowed instead of the grounds crew. We were also a bit less happy that we had to climb the Mt Everest of snow piles to throw anything into the dumpster because the enclosures were never shoveled or salted. Then we became really unhappy. At re-lease our rent went up about $50, which isn’t horrible for the apartment itself. However, only after resigning did we find out there would be construction right outside our back window during “business hours”. Little did anyone know that meant 7 am Monday through Saturday. Needless to say we are seriously regretting sticking around.

Hello, Thank you for being a resident this year and for resigning your lease! We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback. We are sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues recently and would like a chance to discuss them with you. Please call the leasing office directly at (585) 293-7335 to discuss. Thanks.
I lived at this apartment for 8 months and I've had a great experience. The apartment is very comfy, quiet, and modern. Apartments management, doorman, and all of the service employees are top notch. They are very friendly, awesome, and they are fast to respond to any issue we had. I had to leave the city permanently and Sandy, the apartment manager and a very caring person, contacted me regarding some mails that were delivered wrongly to that address, and she arranged to send them to my new address. I already miss that apartment.
