Property Ratings at University City Associates
Do not sign a lease with UCA. I’ve had nothing but problems since the day I moved in. Handles broken off the sink and shower, cabinets broken, filthy carpet, filthy stove, oven, and countertop, leaking fridge, roaches and mice. Birds living in the eaves of the house, windows absolutely covered with bird poop (the windows themselves either don’t close or don’t stay open, have broken frames and cracked panes). There’s such a bad water leak in the laundry room that it has literally worn through the wall in two places. I’m probably not even remembering everything. I’ve put in a ton of maintenance requests- they’re often marked as “fixed” even when it’s clear that they haven’t been and it takes putting the same request in multiple times for anything to get done (when it gets done at all- a good deal of these problems haven’t been dealt with after MONTHS of waiting). When maintenance workers do deign to show up, I’ve had problems with them leaving the door unlocked and going through my stuff. Brought all these concerns up with management who have done nothing substantive to remedy anything after speaking with them multiple times by email and over the phone. Long story short, UCA is a HORRIBLE company. Disgusting, run-down apartments that they seem keen on letting literally fall apart. AVOID.
Do not move in. They do not fulfill their responsibilities as management and the manager does not care about tenants’ well-being. Your quality of life will significantly drop here...
