Property Ratings at University Commons Apartments
This apartment complex was an absolute nightmare to live in. I cannot stress enough how awful our experience was. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. The sheer infestation of roaches, not just in our units but crawling around the lobby, was beyond disgusting. Management's insistence that the lobby was roach-free is laughable. Within a mere two months of moving in, we endured relentless water leaks cascading down our walls, flooding our kitchen and staining everything in sight. Despite countless complaints, nothing was ever fixed. The disregard for our safety and health is infuriating. Mold thrived in those damp conditions, posing serious health risks, yet management turned a blind eye. The lack of security measures was appalling. The first main entrance door does not have a lock, allowing random people to loiter around, putting everyone's safety at risk. As a woman living alone at times, the constant fear of encountering strangers in the hallways was unsettling, to say the least. And let's not forget about the ancient apartment doors that would leave you stuck in your bedroom for an hour because the knobs will hardly turn, and the dysfunctional kitchen cabinets that made everyday tasks a nightmare as they couldn’t even open. To top it off, we were slapped with unjust charges for damages we didn't cause, like broken blinds that costed us over $100 to pay them for that we never EVER broke upon moving out. Don't be fooled by any attempt from management to reply & try to discredit this review; they refuse to take responsibility for their failures. Save yourself the agony and find somewhere else to live. This place is an absolute disgrace and unworthy of anyone's time or money.
I have had no problems living here and it has been a good stay. No issues at all. The landlord/manager is very understanding and caring.

University Commons is a solid place to live if you're a student at CSU or CWRU. I recommend it for those of us who don't have the most cash. Most of the people who live here are either students are old. Pretty cool place to have a kickback or a small party because most people don't seem to mind the noise much. I recommend you get to know your neighbors and ask them first though. Kim, the manager is pretty cool and that's definitely a plus.
