The best thing to say about this place is that the manager was very pleasant and the location is good. The photos online are VERY misleading. These apartments are in dire need of an update. There are far better options.

We've lived here for four years and have no plans to leave anytime soon. The location is wonderful, with the public library, Whole Foods, Safeway and multiple other businesses within walking distance. Both the police and fire department are nearby providing that extra layer of security. Despite the proximity of these establishments, this is a very,very quiet location due to excellent placement and planning in a residential area. The school district here is top-notch with Curtis High School being one of the main reasons we selected University Place when moving here from out of state. We love the amenities within our unit - the woodburning fireplace, the dishwasher and full size washer/dryer, the master bedroom walk-in closet and more! The layout makes the best use of space and our giant balcony and generous sized windows bring in sunshine and cool autumn breezes. Ultimately though, the distinction between a good and a great apartment community will be very dependent upon the management and the maintenance staff, and this is where University Glen takes the lead. Janet has been able to efficiently handle all our requests and concerns and do so in a way that makes us feel we matter to her as individuals and are not interchangeable tenants. Her warmth and sincerity are genuine and her professional skills impeccable! She is that wonderful blend of professional and personable that gives a renter a sense of both confidence and comfort with each interaction. Anthony, our maintenance man, has been simply flawless. Not only does he provide the workmanship and the attention to detail that makes a difference to each job done, but he is courteous and genuinely kind. I've not yet stumped him with a repair he wasn't able to quickly and fully handle! If you want a place to rent, you have many places to choose from. If you're looking for a place that you'll call home - this is where you want to be. : )
I moved to Tacoma a few years ago and found this property a few weeks after moving here and I love it. I love my one bedroom apartment, it's open an spacious and I love the updated windows. I absolutely love spa - it's indoors so I can use it regardless of the weather my daughter on the other hand loves the playground. University Glen is right in the middle of University Place so everything is near by - Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Starbucks, the library, etc. I'm very happy with my apartment and would recommend it to anyone.
