Property Ratings at University Pointe Apartments
The management team was very unresponsive. I have noticed them about my intention of breaking the lease due to personal issue multiple times and received no response. After I left the property they charged me the following month + fee of breaking the lease and threatened me with legal action AFTER 25 days of not responding my email.

As a student in ASU, this apartment offers everything you need while studying, it's close to college and very comfortable and it's open area makes it feel very free and cozy.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are thrilled you're enjoying your home.
This complex is such a fun place to be! Not only are there resident activities there is a pool in every complex, access to a gym, security protected mailboxes, and an activity center where you can play pool with friends or make a cup of coffee. The environment is very welcoming and I think anyone would like living here just as I do.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We are glad you enjoy living here. Our resident's comfort and satisfaction is always our top priority.
I would highly recommend anyone to live here! I have been living at University Pointe for almost a year now and have also renewed with them for another year. For the most part this place is pretty good. As said in the title, it is affordable and convened. It is close to campus and doesn't cost as much as the high rises do. There is pest control that comes in every Friday to help knock out bugs. I have never had an issue with bugs before. There is a maintained team that is on call 24/7 as well as resolves issues quickly. I had my AC broken and they gave me a portable one for the night and fixed it the next day. Very fast and reliable. I loved the pools and I am out there often with my friends or alone reading a book. The only thing I would really like is a hot tub so my friends and I can hangout during the cold nights are sit in it after a long day of work. Other than that the only complaints I have is that the walls are a little thin and the insides may look a little outdated like the kitchen, but everything works fine. The staff is also very helpful and really makes me feel like my issues are heard and are resolved immediately. The property Manager Kathy is very nice and is willing to work with you through any issues.

Hi there, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! We are always looking for ways to improve, and a hot tub is a great idea. Thanks for your suggestion! We will keep that in mind during future improvements. Please let us know if there's ever anything we can do for you. University Pointe Management,
feels like you are in a prison cell. always hot, ac can only go to 76, many things broken, painted over, dirty. outlets don't work. way too expensive for what I am getting. also, not even close to the apartment that we viewed. definitely not staying.
The only perks of living here are the occasional events and the front office staff, with the exception of the property manager Kathy. I have never had such a frustrating experience with anyone before where my concerns were ignored or barely responded to. During an email thread towards the end of my lease, she stopped responding and I later found out she was gone for the week and wouldn't return until after I had left. She also locked me out of my own account, so I was unable to make an online payment. Other than that, expect to hear your neighbors 24/7 and have difficulty with the fob to get into the gates. The closeness to ASU and cheapness doesn't outrank how awful this place is.
This complex is in a central and great location in ASU as it is close to everything you may need. Management has been great dealing with COVID-19 protocols and they are exceptionally nice!! Would recommend any student to live here.
Great value for where you're located near campus. Has all the benefits of Dorm style living without living in a dorm (or the prices). Easy to commute to and from because its on Lemon Street, so you're not bogged down by oncoming traffic. Place is sanitary and staff is always seeming to help.
Bugs, terrible unreasonable staff, very rude neighbors, bad quality apartments where everything breaks, will put a threatening sticker your car even if you have a parking sticker on it, and so on. You'll regret living here, don't fall for the marketing.
Wow, UP, where to begin? The only good thing that I can say about this place is the proximity to ASU. Very close. However, during my time here, I found it extremely difficult to enjoy living in this complex. As an international student. The first night I arrived here, I was exhausted. The keys they gave me did not work with my apartment door even though I paid my rent far in advance. So, I had to drag all my big luggages from overseas to stay at a hotel nearby. BIG HASSLE. Most of the staff in the leasing office was hopelessly incompetent except for Verenice, who was the best among them all. She was courteous and attentive. However, the rest of the staff just acts like they couldn't be bothered the whole time with the tenants, couldn't answer basic questions asked. Shortly after I moved in, there was a drunk homeless man knocking on my door in the middle of the night asking for money. It was horrendous. I did not feel safe sleeping at night there. The wall was so thin you could hear your neighbor sneezed, talked and play loud music. You could also hear the floor shaking when your neighbor walked. Maintenance also couldn't fix the problem I had in the apartment and their communication with was very poor. It seems like they don't communicate well within the organization, let alone with me. I found myself having to constantly get information from different people which was very confusing. The staff was also helpless and couldn't give me the right solutions regarding the problems in the apartment. Lack of communication seems to be main problem within the staff. Maintenance also left a lot of mess in the apartment when they came to fix issues. If you plan on staying here, I'd recommend that you look further into other choices. I'm glad that I'm finally out of there. Big mistake.

We are sorry to hear your dissatisfaction. We are always looking for ways to improve and we will make note of your feedback, so we can continue to improve and offer the best service possible. -University Pointe Team
Over the last three years there has been a lot of turnover in managing and ownership of this apartment complex and the current property management has been undoubtedly the most unhelpful and least professional. The biggest concerns are a lack of communication, responsiveness and overall concern. Don't expect to receive prompt and timely return phone calls despite weeks of leaving several messages. For instance, we had a busted pipe underneath the ground of our bedroom that was seeping water up through the floor. It took a month to get fixed. Also, the central air condition broke for a week in the summer and no one received money back on their rent (all utilities are included in the rent so we paid for AC we did not receive). Other issues include roach problems they never permanently addressed, weird and inconvenient office hours of the office located at our particular property, and the laundry machines which more often than not wouldn’t read anyone of your several credit cards made it a bad experience. Overall, there is a clear unprofessional and unconcerned culture of management at University Pointe. Nonetheless, not everything was bad. These are the perks I particularly enjoyed: gas grill (when it wasn’t broken), close to ASU, close to public transportation, and included utilities.
This place is in the worst part of ASU and I hope you like to hear police every single night but that's not the worst part when we moved in the apartment was not taken care of for our move in and when we put in a maintenance request nothing was fixed and our medicine cabinet door was stolen from and when I went to the office to ask if they had records of who went in our apartment and what was done and a leasing agent by the name of Sofia told me there was no such thing as those records. About a week later I had an issue with my mail box and I spoke to the manager about it because she was the only one available and when I re-asked about the records she told me they have always had records and when I saw the maintenance notes they even stated they looked at the medicine cabinet. At my outrage I wanted to know what the manager was going to do about my property being stolen and being lied to by one of her staff members and she said " Well theirs not much I can do, I can ask Sofia but that's it". Fallowing this there was another maintenance request put in for specifically Tuesday before 12pm WITH NO PERMISSION TO ENTER it is Monday and maintenance arrived but as I was walking to the door HE OPENED IT HIMSELF BEFORE I WAS EVEN AT MY DOOR! This place is fishy, the office staff cant be trusted, theirs noise at all hours of the day, thievery highly suspected, crime all around. This was my only choice to have a home of my own so I suggest if you can DON'T MOVE HERE!
University Pointe is made up of 3 different buildings. I've stayed at the one located on 1011 E Lemon St for 2 and a half years as of now and I must say, its been a great experience. The apartments are spacious and in neat condition at the beginning of the lease. PROS 1) Location: If you are a student at ASU, this is one of the best properties you can stay on. You can be in the centre of ASU Tempe campus by walking for just 10 minutes from here. Bus stops (both free and paid buses) and a Light rail station are a 5 min walk away. Downtown Tempe/Mill Avenue district is 15-20 mins walk. You'll also find a whole bunch of restaurants and grocery stores including a safeway and mini-walmart right in your neighbourhood. It all makes for a lot of convenience as a student without a car. And yet, the rent is usually less as compared to other properties in the neighborhood. 2) Amenities: The pool and the gym are well maintained. They also have free coffee and printing facilities in the business center but you need to get your own paper. They also rent out cycles for free during office hours. Oh and they bake and serve amazing fresh cookies in the leasing office. I also find the online rent payments convenient. 3) Maintenance : Most of the times, maintenance calls have been attended to within a reasonable amount of time. UP is also one of the few properties around here that don't charge for bug control treatments. CONS 1) The apartments are old and that shows. Its not a major problem and the buildings are well maintained but it can be a problem for some. 2) The staff in the leasing office changes every few months and I have had to deal with a variety of agents varying between very helpful to outright rude. Your mileage may vary. 3) The leasing office has some issues with respect to maintaining paperwork. I have had payment notices served on a number of occasions in spite of paying my rent on time, because of screw ups in the record keeping in the office. Just make sure you take all receipts and keep records of all payments you make. All in all, I would recommend this property to future tenants in a heartbeat. All said and done, I've had a relatively trouble free stay here. Be polite and courteous with the staff and whatever little problems you may have will be resolved.
The apartment was given to us filthy and unfinished. I did not feel safe here at all with the flimsy door frames that anyone can kick in, the homeless men in the pool, the fights in the parking lots from the frats or the car break ins. The girls in the office are clueless and impossible to deal with, you'd be better off talking to the homeless guy in the pool! The pictures shown online are the best looking property but trust me when I say it's not what it seems. Maintenance requests take weeks and it's not worth the money! DO NOT RENT HERE!
"The new owner has really gone out of his way to bring these apartments back from the dead. University Pointe has a new rec room, new lights. new feel, and being right in the heart of the college is a real no brainier why these are the best choice to live while attending ASU." -Gerell Brewer
