Property Ratings at University Riverside Gardens
You are living in filth and Crickets are everywhere. In every room, bathroom and bathtub, etc. Asked for management to contact a "professional exterminator," exterminator did their thing it did nothing to the cricket frequency. I see up to 3 different crickets a day! Moved out as soon as I could. You can find a lot cleaner for a lot cheaper. AVOID!
Horrible service, don’t recommend. They’re very well at collecting your money but ignore things that need to be fixed. Since we moved the cables in the room have been out getting in the way and we’ve been telling them since we moved and they don’t pay any mind. They can’t even manage to send someone to come and drain the water from the sink. The rent is not cheap and it’s even worse to live in an apartment where your needs aren’t met. Save yourself the horrible experience, don’t rent here.
Do not live here! This place turned out to be a complete waste of money. I moved into a dirty apartment; dirty floors, kitchen drawers and cabinets filled with food crumbs from previous tenants, bathroom had mold on the walls and ceilings (I knew someone else who lived here, they had mold problems too; likely a whole complex problem), hair and dirt in the drawers, bathtub was cracked as well. I had multiple issues with the apartment like the sink constantly leaking but they would never fix it, ceiling fan came with a broken light, the mold was “fixed” only to return by the time I was moving out, roaches were found first night of move-in, my ceiling started leaking, and my fridge went out resulting in hundreds in loss of food. Paying for parking is not worth it considering multiple cars in the parking lot were vandalized first month of moving in. Homeless people will yell at you from your window to be let into the complex and also rummage through the trash right below your apartment. A person’s apartment was broken into, and it took months for a replacement window so they had tape up their window. Grit your teeth if you have roommate issues because management won’t do anything, even if it’s a hostile environment. They don’t care about your pets. Locks on the doors barely work. I got charged for painting and cleaning taking $200 out of my security deposit even though I know I left the apartment in better condition than I received it.
Absolutely loved my time here at URG. Complex was always clean and mostly quiet. The manager was always super nice and just down to earth, not very corporate was always down to listen to anything we needed. Never had a problem!
My daughter and I have been looking for her first apartment near UCR. We enjoyed our tour with Brenda who was personable and friendly and made us feel comfortable. We Like the layout and location so this was a positive experience for my daughter and me as this has become one of our top choices for her first apartment.
It's fine for a starter residence for students. The onsite maintenance staff are good. The AC never quit during the summer. Having a gated parking lot and complex kept out most transient wanderers. I never experienced anything that made me instantly want to move. That being said, you can do better for this price range. The units don't have dishwashers, which might not be a big deal for some backgrounds, but it was for me. Additionally, you're locked into a 12 month lease so if you find anything better once you're here, it's a full year before you can move. Overall, this place is perfectly acceptable for what it is, but I'd recommend trying to find a house to rent a room in instead if you are a student.
Management is helpless, they are only doing things for suck your money out, they don't care if you have any issue with the apartment. people are nice, but the niceness is only for them to take your money, they don't help you. Be aware to receive some "NEW" information each time you visit the office, and bring your recorder to make sure they know what they said. Security is under zero protection, your door is the only thing that blocks people, the gate is there for decoration, can be easily opened without the key. Claim as they have remodeled everything, however, the washing machines and the drying machines are exactly the same, takes up quarters and never cleaned by anyone. laundry room door is always widely opened to let everyone to enjoy the dust in there. Smoking is fully allowed both inside and outside of the apartment property, and they also allow pets, in which they never regulate anything related to, pets can pee and poop everywhere. extremely overpriced place, they will take extra 30 for utility, 50 for parking, and 20~30 for transaction ( they don't accept money order nor cash at the office.) electricity bills are surprisingly high. Good luck if you decided to live here, have fun with the smell.
I would not recommend moving to these apartments manager is nice but nothing ever gets fixed everything that is wrong they tried say cable is paid for but they cut the cable and say we owe 135 gas has been off for 3 months and still nothing even after we paid. homeless people jump over the fence dig into the trash there is no security here people leave gate open for everyone to come in even if they don't live here.
Property Manager at University Riverside Gardens, Responded To This Review
Sorry you had such a bad experience in 2015. As of February 2016 the property is under new ownership and we are undergoing a huge renovation and you may be able to see by the pictures. We are working on new gates, new access, spike strips for one way drive access, and we have security guards as well in the evenings for the time being. We are fully upgrading the interior of the apartments and are really looking forward to the 2016/17 school year. We would recommend you to come back by when you get a chance and see if we can change your mind :) If you are still at the apartments let us know how we can make your experience better. Reference your apartments.com review and have the manager reach out to the property supervisor. We really strive to have the best units at a great value and best customer service. Thanks ~The URG Team~
