Situated off the western shores of the Texas Gulf Coast bordering rugged Brush Country, Kingsville maintains deep historical roots while embracing modern industry. Kingsville is perhaps best known as the home of the King Ranch, which is one of the largest working ranches in the world, covering more acres of land than the state of Rhode Island. The King Ranch is a major agribusiness with interests in cattle ranching, farming, luxury retail goods, and recreational hunting.
Kingsville also contains Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Naval Air Station Kingsville, which contribute to the growing local economy. In addition to the combination of history and modern industry, Kingsville offers residents small-town charm and a slower pace of life. A host of quaint shops, boutiques, and cafes line Kingsville’s historic downtown while annual events like the Halloween Carnival, Ranch Hand Festival, and Kleberg Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show bring the community together on a regular basis.

Property Ratings at University Square Apartments
old, dirty, dangerous, bugs, flooding The worst part: the management staff is mean, bitter, angry, not helpful
Alrighty, nothing I have to say is new. Just a reiteration of what others have said before me. When I moved in, the apartment was already infested with roaches and mice. I killed sixteen mice before they took care of the problem. This was in the span of a month or two, mind you. At first, they put down a single mouse trap. After a bit, they finally covered the gaping hole. Within the first week, their water heater leaked. It took three tries for them to fix it but, it had already destroyed some of my personal property. Did they do anything to compensate me? No, and they won't. Fast forward a few months, and the bathroom ceiling collapses. Fun, huh? Did they do anything then to help with the major inconvenience that caused? Nope. Their stoves don't work. I found that out after seeing that the mice had chewed the wires. Also, the drip pans were so rusted that when I tried to clean them, bits fell off. It takes them three tries to fix literally anything and, even then, there is no guarantee. There was a large space on the bottom of my door. You could push the matt out with no resistance. I sat there want watched a cockroach crawl into my apartment. Gross. Did they fix it? No. Did they claim to after the second try? Yes. It never got fixed. I chose them because they were cheap. Not worth it. Spend the extra money somewhere else that will actually treat you with respect. You will call them. They will promise to call you back. It will never happen. Their apartments are no good. Their maintenance are no good...except for the emergency guy. He's cool. Their customer service sucks. Don't expect much from them except for a huge bill when you move out.
I didn’t renew my lease because of poor maintenance and the property manager is so mean and rude! Yes I’m a college student but I don’t deserve to get talked down too like if I’m stupid !!! She is mean and doesn’t like it when you ask questions! She gets attitude and doesn’t let you finish talking! Rent at your own risk!
Management staff is terrible. The apartments have so many issues. I had a repeating mold issue along with a pest issues (mice and roaches) in one apt and it got so bad that I would never eat at my apartment. I then moved me to another one where the sink would constantly flood over. I also had my A/C freeze up at least once a month in both Apts. I would not move there. I’m so glad to be out of there.
Worst would be the short word for these apartments and its management. it is one of the most unhygienic places to live in Kingsville. Name the problem and you will find it here in these apartments. Yes, if you adore rats then by all means, go live there. we literally caught 20 rats in less than 2 months. And guess from where these rats come from? Right from the holes of burners on the stove. Can you imagine? And then when we complained, they gave us impression like they are hearing it for the first time when this same thing happened in one of our friend's apartments also. Roaches, bed bugs, rats, everything is in these apartments. We cleaned our apartment like new when we moved from there last week and still they sent us a bill which covered the whole amount of our deposit plus extra charges. It was not that cleaned when we moved there like I cleaned and still we got the bill. Losers. And when we contacted the manager, she was all rude and did not reply to any of our questions. They are the worst people ever. They are only sitting there to fool the students and put money in their pockets. WORST WORST WORST. PLEASE PEOPLE, DON'T GO THERE. PLEASEEE!!!
One of the worst apartments in Kingsville. the ladies work in the leasing office including manager are the worst people. Highly unprofessional and never solve your problems. The name of these apartments should be RATS APARTMENTS rather than UNIVERSITY SQUARE APARTMENTS. Never Ever come here people. I know its close to the school so students prefer this place but trust me people, you are gonna regret living here.
