Property Ratings at Uptown Gardens
We have enjoyed everything so far! It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood and the neighbors are very friendly. The pool is a nice amenity , but wish the gym would be more functional (cardio equipment not working). Other than that, we’ve enjoyed everything!
Quite good. Good staff but maintenance could be improved. Pros -cheap -good location -nice people -parking -park is nice Improvements -gym never works -lights are broken -things take a while to get fixed
I love living here, had a couple issues here and there but overall a good place to live. They have great size especially for the price. small issues when we moved in and a couple other things have gone wrong but they all were fixable.
Uptown gardens has been an okay experience thus far. I’ve lived here almost two years and so far my car has been broken into and my apartment has had water leaks several times. The staff have been very helpful but I will not be resigning a second time.
Quiet community in an amazing location. Management is responsive. Ashley and Nelda are extremely helpful and nice. Older complex that shows age but beautiful bones.
Constant need for maintenance to come And fix things that should already be done. I still don’t have a door on my washer and dry room which i was told in January would be taken care of and it hasn’t been. Don’t move here. Terrible complex. Can’t even go into the leasing office unless you have an appointment.
I'm really enjoying my new 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. The private patio is a nice bonus. Parking is limited but this place is still a top pick for me.
Wonderful location at a great price. There were some issues with my unit (bathroom faucet fell off, bedroom has no lights or ceiling fan) and the management is isn’t great at communication. Nothing too major though.
office is very difficult to contact, but apartment itself is clean and in safe and walkable area. overall good atmosphere. gym a little cramped.
For the past 3 months every time it rains I have water leaking through my walls and ceiling. My Ceiling fell through once and they had to rip out the walls. They fixed the ceiling and walls without fixing the water leak and now the walls are soaking wet again and the water drips from the ceiling when it rains. I have buckets all over my apartment to catch water and am living in hell. They will not fix the issue and keep giving me the run around. My neighbor has the same issue and has mushrooms growing in her apartment. It is disgusting. Pegasus is a horrible company and I would recommend not renting from them. Also, the gym here is horrible! They have two treadmills and neither have worked in over a year and counting. Do not rent here!
so far, so good with everything! ashley has been a huge help with the moving process and has made everything so much easier! it’s a quiet neighborhood and we love the views and accessibility to uptown! the pool is kept up good, along with the property in general. over the weekends, the trash piles up around the trash can but come monday morning it is cleaned up great!
Quite good. There is more space here than most apartments. Location has been wonderful too. Wish there were more community events once in a while.
So far so great, big fan of the admin staff. I like the space and they've done a good job with cleaning it up and painting it before I got here
i loved it until we got new leasing staff in our community. horrible customer service & communication, not a good problem resolving team, half done maintenance jobs, and fees galore only to receive half the services they charge you for. first bad review i’m writing about this place and i’ve lived here for years! i feel like the staff is a huge issue.
A pretty nice place to live, nice and clean and well maintained. Mail room is very disorganized, I would rather packages were just left by my door. Workout room is very lacking in equipment.
Solid place to live. Great people pets amenities, parking, pool, noise isn’t too bad, daily oriented. Gym could use some updating. Valet trash is helpful
Move in day went smooth but Fridge doesn’t work at all and it smells like cig smoke in the house. Hard to get anyone to help fix this. I put my permit sticker up but got 3 parking tickets on the street already.
The apartment is great and so is the management and maintenance. Only thing that drags it down is the gym. Its small and the few machines in there don't work 90% of the time.
Great location. Good pricing for area. Clean and safe. Quiet for most part. Very pet friendly. Units are upgraded but still have unique characteristics. I have really enjoyed living here.
I love this complex! Everyone is so friendly and the location is great! So much to do around here. The office staff respond quickly and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
Just moved in, but so far a great place to live. I had a few issues that needed to be fixed at move-in, but the maintenance staff was able to fix everything quickly.
Uptown Gardens site right in the middle of 4th ward and just walking distance to the rest of uptown Charlotte. One of the better locations for an apartment complex in the city
Great location and price! Leasing office is only open during the week so it’s occasionally hard to reach someone but everyone is helpful and friendly
Friendly but community around can be quite loud. The pool is great on hotter days and the gym is an easy 24 hour access. The staff/apartment managers here are very helpful and outgoing as well.
The best thing about these apartments is the location and the price. The pool is nice too. Everything else though is pretty bad. Our refrigerator has been broken since we moved in, we have put in 5 service requests and we have yet to have it fixed or replaced. I found acrylic nails in the carpet when we moved in. This is a large complex and it has 8 visitor spots which are usually full of people who aren’t even visiting but just figured out they could park for free in our parking lot. Because of this my dad came to visit and got towed the first night, which meant we spent much of the rest of the weekend figuring out where he could park. Also when we moved in here they called to tell us our apartment wasn’t ready two days before move in, gave us some options, and the following day we spent so much time trying to get the management team on the phone to sign a new lease. The management team gets a C-. Simply put, I’ve had a pretty dismal experience at uptown gardens.
This is a community where you pay for what you get. A great value! The apartments are large with good bathrooms and closets, the Floorplan makes sense. Having a big patio with a second locking door is good security for Uptown.
I have lived here a few years and my experience has been fairly stellar. Despite the apartment complex changing management companies and a very frequent rotation of staff, I still have been able to have relatively quick responses to maintenance calls. The issues I've had is from the frequent rotation of staff and the ever changing "rules", especially regarding guest parking. The buildings are showing some age and are creaky but I don't mind that. I feel safe and have enjoyed staying here at Uptown Gardens.

I have been living here for 5 months and so far, these are the best apartment complexes I've lived in (I've lived in 4 apartment complexes before this one). The pros: - Good location in the city center. - Lots of bars, restaurants, and shops around, and you can walk to any event in the city. - The place is quiet, although there may be a game in the stadium a couple of blocks away. - It's safe enough, despite the lack of gates and an open parking lot for apartment complex residents; I haven't had any problems in 5 months. - The biggest plus for me is the people who work in the office every day, as well as the maintenance team. You can solve any problems that arise with the office, and they try to solve them as quickly as possible. The cons: - The buildings are quite old, built in the 80s, which naturally imposes some problems, such as creaky floors and sometimes hearing neighbors above if you live on the 1st or 2nd floor. - Old windows that may not always open and close well.

I’ve had a great time here. it’s in a good location and a walk away from my job. the privacy is also amazing and i haven’t had any issues with other tenants.

I moved here in August and my roommate and I have had the worst experience. We pay monthly for pest control, yet never got the treatment we were promised. The people above us moved out because of how bad the cockroach problem is, and our apartment is infested as well. We had to buy our own spray and traps and still see huge roaches in our rooms. Our dishwasher is broken, and the light in my closet is too. We were told there is “nothing they can do.” And we need to deal with it. Would never live here again, and I tell everyone moving to Charlotte to NOT live here. I have lived in many apartments and this one is by far the worst.

I lived in uptown gardens for 2.5 years. It served its purpose for the space I needed and is in a great location. I lived in a two bedroom and then moved to a one bedroom. They are very spacious compared to the majority of the apartments in uptown. They have a wonderful porch/balcony unlike any other in the city. I liked the garden community feel that UG offers over the hotel feel you get from most of the high rise buildings in uptown. The people living in the community were always very friendly over the 2.5 years I was living there. You’ll see a lot of complaints about the cockroaches on these reviews. I will say that my first year I lived there, they were AWFUL. In and out of the apartments. Once management finally did away with whatever pest service they had and switched to Messey, it was a 100% improvement. I didn’t see a single cockroach or really any pests in the 1.5 years i lived in my one bedroom. Plus they come spray any time you need. They’re there every day of the week. So great improvements there if you’re reading old reviews. Management switches all of the time. Maintenance switches all of the time. I feel indifferent about this when living in an apartment. I have felt like some of the maintence men are super sketchy and they have to hire them because no one wants to work that property. I had an issue with one coming into my apartment unannounced and then cornered me when I basically busted him. Celina, the current manager is good at doing her job. She takes it very seriously and I believe is respected for that. However, I have no clue who her counterpart is. It just seemed like one clueless person after the other there on her days off. Even when we turned our keys in to move out, we had no clue who that person was there collecting them from us. The pool is the best part of the community. It is a TON of fun in the summertime. (Unless you get yelled at for the music being too loud) I give UG 3 out of 5 stars because it is a good place to live. Very spacious. Comfortable and a decent community. The For the ever rising rent prices, you may find something better in uptown, but you can’t beat the location. I would recommend living here to others. I just think that the sketchy maintence men(not all of them...just a lot of them), ever transitioning management and overall status of the property could be taken a little more seriously.

We appreciate all reviews, and appreciate you giving us the chance to improve by providing us with this feedback. Until the next time we meet, take care!
This place was fantastic when Greystar managed the property, now it's a weekly frustration. Public spaces have not been kept up to the standards of the previous company, standards which greatly influenced my decision to rent at Uptown Gardens months before the LKW managment takeover. Office hours have been significantly reduced, propane tanks at the public grills are rarely filled/functional, lawn maintenance is seemingly random/inconsistant, the pool is constantly being closed down with little to no notice, and as of today pool hours have been dramatically reduced by a stagering 25 hours every week with the possibility of hours being reduced further on weekends. Unacceptable. The community here is still strong, but overall substantially dissatisfied as a whole. Do not rent here until further notice.

This is an older apartment building but compared to other old options in the city it is great. The apartments have older doors and kitchen cabinets but they have been partially updated. Each unit has nice big walk in closets and a huge patio with outside storage. These are probably the least expensive places you can find in the city that have a lot of square footage, a pool, and friendly staff.
