Property Ratings at Uptown Place
I live here on my own and really enjoy my cozy home. Plus, with restaurants and a bar just 2-3 minutes away, it's incredibly convenient!
Some AC units are really old. Got sick thinking I had bad allergies. Found mold and AC is 20 years old. Saw on reviews, other people found this in walls. Issues with break ins and trails of blood. 2 leaks from upstairs floors. Someone kicked the walls and broke pipes so there was flooding. Read reviews before renting.
I never write bad reviews but in this case I just have too. I have been here for over a year and have loved the location and everything as a whole, but the property management and maintenance management are an absolute joke. We discovered mold in our bathroom roof which is already bad as it is but what made it worse was their response. They didn’t take quick action and most definitely didn’t give it the attention it needed right away. If it weren’t for us insisting they hire actual professionals to take care of it responsibly, they would have just sprayed with bleach and painted over it. They tried convincing us that the mold wasn’t bad or harmful in any way meanwhile when the remediators came and removed everything it was indeed way worse than they thought. There was no communication or organization of when the issue would be fixed and took longer than what it needed. They have even showed up in our apartment WITHOUT NOTICE opening our bedroom door while my boyfriend and I were SLEEPING. Not only did they invade our privacy but also didn’t show any empathy or gave us any compensation to make us feel even a bit better about all of it. After a month of the mold remediation we still have no bathroom ceiling and ZERO communication from these people on when we will have the construction workers come in. Management has clearly no idea what they are doing, no communication skills, professionalism or leadership skills which is a shame considering I never had an issue until this happened.
I am a current renter with Uptown Place and have lived here for years. I'm giving one star, because I want future renters to know the current state of things, as far as what you're allowed access to while living at Uptown. Since the hit of COVID shutdowns, all the condo amenities have been closed and are still closed. These closed amenities include: front office access when it is open (often times will not answer door when someone is working and is always locked), gym, pool, computer lab, courtyard/garden area, and clubhouse area. For the price to rent here, you can live across the street (and other newer apartments downtown) and have access to pools, gyms, clubhouses, and offices. There is no estimated time for when the amenities will reopen at Uptown, so I would recommend renting or buying a condo somewhere else if you would like to use any of these things where you live. Renters have been told the closures are due to insurance liability. As I don't see COVID dissipating for a long time, they may not ever reopen any amenities in this building.
the new management is very bad and are least concerned about the people who live there. THey just want your money and do NOT even respond when you have real problems
