From the shore of Bde Maka Ska lake to the thriving businesses along Lyndale Avenue, Uptown serves as a major hub for arts and entertainment in Minneapolis. The music scene has deep roots, with legendary alumni such as Prince getting their start in Uptown. The nightlife tends to be a bit more subdued than the nearby Warehouse District, but still incorporates dozens of bars and nightclubs catering to a variety of tastes. The neighborhood is known for its artistic flair, reflected in the abundance of public artworks and popular events like the Uptown Art Fair.
When it comes to living in Uptown Minneapolis, folks have several great options. Most of the neighborhood is residential, with everything from historic apartment buildings to large single-family homes lining the streets. The extensive network of tree-shaded sidewalks make it simple to reach your favorite café or neighborhood pub on foot, and Downtown is easily within biking distance.

Property Ratings at Uptown Square
Very good price for the area, but the apartment is not good. Very messy common areas that never get cleaned, packages get stolen, and some of the residents make things uncomfortable. It is a great location, with free parking but you definitely get what you pay for.
Management is pretty responsive, a huge plus is the parking spot included in the rent. That's pretty unheard for the uptown area. Lived here for a year and loved the ability to walk everywhere and a lot of the buses were a quick walk away. The walls are a bit thin so I could often hear conversations my neighbor was having while in my bedroom. Rent is a bit high considering there aren't really any amenities but that's just because of the location.
I moved here from Sioux Falls, SD in December 2014, I thought Minneapolis was going to be super crazy in comparison to Sioux Falls SD, its affordable, its quiet, safe, and close to everything. I wouldn't want to move .
The best part of these apartments is definitely the location. The apartments surrounding it are very expensive (1500 for one bedroom). There is a grocery store right across the street, plenty of bars within walking distance, shopping, and a lot of nice restaurants. The apartments themselves were renovated recently so they are pretty nice. The kitchen isn't huge but it is new which makes up for that. Neighbors aren't too loud which is nice and there is also free off street parking which is rare for uptown.
Better price than the apartments in the area. However, some of the apartments have very little natural light and thin walls.
