Property Ratings at Crosstown Phoenix
The Cox internet service is bundled into the rent as an amenity. None optional $75 dollars. The wiring in the building is old and myself and other residents have gone without internet service for weeks due to ingress. Cox would not help until they got okay from management. I sent multiple emails and tried to call the office (no one answers) and went into the office. Maria Rodriguez , the manager, NEVER responded or was in office. Unprofessional ,rude staff. You will pay for Cox internet but you better get a hot spot also.

Comfortable, cozy units. The property management and maintenance team are professional and have been very attentive to my requests (as needed). Common areas stay very neat and clean.

This complex may look a little run down on the outside but it's a pretty cool place to live. We love our apartment. The pool is always kept clean and the price of the laundry is just perfect for our budget.
I scheduled a simple tour of this complex and when i went to view the apartment, shortly afterwards one of the staff members stated I wouldn't even be able to get a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom without even running my information. Not to mention the complex is dirty, flies everywhere and there was literally people getting high right outside of their apartments when i was on my tour. I will def apply elsewhere as the level of unprofessionalism was horrible, cant imagine what living there would be like.
Office managers are hard to find nobody cares about the residence. The community itself is terrible. Bugs are everywhere homeless are washing clothes in our washer and dryer’s. Nobody answers the phones in the office ever and it takes up two week for maintenance to come fix minor things
The staff At Crosstown Phoenix is extremely professional and accommodating. The location is very convenient, and my apartment was close to immaculate upon arrival.
Living at Crosstown Phoenix West has been wonderful. I have been a resident for more than 2 years and continue to love my apartment. I would highly recommend to other individuals to live here as well.
Living at Crosstown Phoenix West has been wonderful. I have been living here for over 2 years and have loved my experience at this apartment complex so far. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful apartments with friendly and helpful staff.
Crosstown Phoenix is a good, reasonably priced community in a very convenient location.
Its a fairly decent place In the middle of everything Pretty friendly neighbors
It's nearly impossible to get staff on the phone or to answer emails, without either sending a multitude of emails or involving upper management. Staff on site, more often than not, has been unable or unwilling to resolve issues or even answer simple questions. Staff appears to be solely concerned with charging people money for anything they can.
Overall good apartment complex, wish the pools were open but I guess I can wait until summer. Lots of small cracks and crevices in my apartment, which I was initially worried about bugs getting in through, but they seem to do a good job with spraying for pesticides and I haven't had any bugs in the place except for a couple of small fruit flies.
I am pleased so far with living here at Crosstown (it's been less than a month). People are friendly, the services are good, The location is great, and the outdoor amenities will be wonderful once it warms up.
As a resident of Crosstown Phoenix West, I am very happy and pleased living here. It is a safe community and I will continue to live here. Overall, it is a great place to live in central Phoenix for a reasonable price.
Crosstown Phoenix West is a wonderful community to live in. It is an affordable apartment complex that includes utilities and located in a central location in Phoenix. The Greystar management team does a great job in helping out their residents in every way possible. The maintenance supervisor also does an excellent job in resolving maintenance requests. Everyone here in this community has been very nice since I moved here in July 2021. Overall, it has been an awesome experience living here at Crosstown Phoenix West.
I see improvement, but I feel there is still room for more improvement.
Do you want your living space to feel safe enough to sleep at night? Do you want to live in a place without infestation? Do you want to live in a place that’s functional and doesn’t require tons of plumbing and water maintenance? If so, by all means, do not move here. There’s a 100% guarantee of homeless people and junkies washing, bathing, sleeping and living in the public areas (laundry room, stairs, “garden”, free access to the parking lot 24/7, gates that have no working fobs or security to keep from any person on the street walking in). There will be gunshots, and you will hear them at least once a week. You will hear your neighbors screaming at eachother (domestic violence) outdoors at any hour of the night. It’ll be so bad that the cops will have to come multiple times because noise complaints and “security patrol” are useless. You will lose sleep. Beyond that, there will be infestation. Ants, cockroaches, gnats, termites. You name it. Don’t bother calling the leasing office for anything because they are completely unresponsive, even when you make it a point to go in person. They will hardly ever resolve any problem, but by all means they’ll do pointless renovations on the property and create mandatory “luxury” services (valet trash, aka be forced to pay money to constantly have trash outdoors), but do nothing to better the safety, security, and livelihood of their residents. Your A/C will be so weak and pitiful that you’ll definitely need to provide your own a/c unit or fan. Hopefully you don’t have water/plumbing/leaks/pipes problems like the majority of the tenants do. The main maintenance worker is great and responsive, that’s about the only positive I can say about this complex. It’s a miserable place to live and is in no way shape or form worth the “affordable” rent.
It’s slow moving and lack of communication amongst the staff, and tidied up the delivery packaging but still is a comfortable place to live, it could be great if they fixed the few issues there are
The complex is a little rough on the outside, but after living here for over 4 years, I can say that I always feel safe and cozy in this complex. I have actually had two different apartments with this complex because I liked my studio so much that I chose to upgrade to a 1-bedroom. The courtyard and the exterior gardens are nice and offer a bit of nature. I agree, sometimes the gates are broken and parking is full but for the most part, everything else is nice. The flooring is easy to mop and take care. Airflow isn't the greatest so I made sure to routinely clean the apartment, open the windows, and run a fan during the day for 15 minutes. The fact that all utilities are included and SRP makes it worth it. The complex is pet friendly and I love seeing my neighbors with their pets. The apartment is a short distance from the Grand Canal Path which is great for walking or biking. I see lots of families in this area. The front office responds to my requests. I've had lots of help available to me for lockouts. Occasionally but rarely, mail has issues being delivered.
Don’t ever rent here! Save your money and go to another place. It’s not safe homeless come in and out like nothing. It’s been a thousand times that we’ve called the police.
Ea un lunar céntrico, muy fácil llegar a todas partes. Sin embargo las puertas del eatacionamiento y la puerta principal no sirven, eso hace que todos puedan entrar. El sentirme segura es algo muy importante para mí
DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! I can’t stress it enough! If I could give this place 0 stars I WOULD! I moved into this place because of the cheap rent because it was what I could afford at the time but don’t let that real you in! I have had endless amounts of problems for A YEAR straight!! 1. Showed me the wrong apartment in the first place & messed up my rent. Couldn’t fix the rent until the 2ND month of living here. Over charged me for the unit as well and also put in late fees even though they couldn’t get the rent correct. 2. Never gave me a parking sticker to park here so my car got towed not only once BUT TWICE. Took FOREVER to get a refund for those. 3. The gates DONT WORK: not a gated community. They have never worked since I have lived here for a year. 4. Anyone could access my apartment. The lock on my door was wide open to the point where anyone could stick their key through and it would pop right open. The office and management did not care about this situation even though it is a SAFETY VIOLATION. 5. Hot water turned off and they did nothing about it. Took MONTHS to get a discount on rent because of it. 6. Never gave me a printout of my lease. 7. Air conditioning stopped working and it took them till the next day in the afternoon to show any care for it. 8. They NEVER NEVER NEVER answer their phones. 9. The dog park smells HORRID and no one ever cleans up after themselves. 10. HIGH CRIME area!! There is always police over here and my bottom neighbor broke into his window and shattered it in the middle of the night because he was too drunk to open his door. 11. The laundry rooms are absolutely FILTHY. They are disgusting. It got to the point where I had to do my laundry elsewhere. Also HOMELESS people sleep in there. 12. My kitchen window was broken since day 1 and they never fixed it in the year I have lived here even though I have made them aware of the situation numerous times. 13. There is MOLD GROWING in my bathroom! It has been there since the first day I moved in and they were aware of it and have never taken care of it. That right there is a HEALTH VIOLATION. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. Please please please go live elsewhere. Anywhere is better than this. You will have a lifetime of worries for your safety and health.
My daughter is just moving out from this hell hole. Homeless all around property due to the gates never working. So be on the lookout when you go to do your laundry in the moldy, dirty washers and dryers. On your way back be sure to avoid the dog poop and pee all over. Now my daughter was lucky she could open her door with any key, management was aware and never fixed the door. She wasn't able to open the window for six months into her lease. All those police shootings, don't worry it was just across the street where you have to park your car because the neighborhood parks in the lot. And the back gate, you don't need a fob for safety that gate never locks either. Hot water and air-conditioning come and go but hey just open the window.....oh. Should we discuss the office staff? They are real see you next Tuesday kind of gals. Meaning when you make an appointment or try to call good luck they don't answer the phones. But none of this matters just be sure to give a 60 day notice or that's when they will finally pay you some attention. Probably not, as I sit here waiting for my 9am appointment writing a review at 9:55 with still no one showing up.
Greystar owns Crosstown Phoenix West Apartments. That should be the first warning. I did not even have a bedroom for over a month and they continued to charge me full rent, do not acknowledge my concerns, and never even reached out via email, text, or phone call after repeated attempts to just speak with someone. Because of the massive hole in my ceiling leading to the neighbors kitchen, I now have riches showing up for the first time in 2 years. You could see them climbing out of the wall sometimes. It’s the corporate office lack of communication and the fact that I slept on my couch with broken ribs for 5 weeks. I didn’t even have a bedroom but paid full rent.
As a new resident I am pleased by the cleanliness of my apartment and of the complex generally. I found the apartment to be a good value compared with others I visited.
Even with Greystar taking over and trying to improve, this place is an absolute dump! Gate has worked maybe 3 days in the year that I have lived here. I get approached 3+ times per week by homeless people who live in the dumpster area. They have a new "open" policy for parking, residents are forced to park on the street when guests are parking inside. Constantly trash accumulating outside. Lots of crimes and helicopters circling the area. Hot water hardly works. They shut off your water with 0 warning often. Big bug problem. Neighbors selling drugs and people constantly in and out. Terribly unsafe. Laundry rarely works. No communication from staff about policy changes. Don't move here.
Terrible place to live. Dirty, overpriced, roach infested and unsafe. Don’t move here. Forced services that are unneeded, laundry machines are always broken. Don’t move here, you will regret it.
Apartments are constantly dirty, management is straight up rude, can't get any work orders filled, dirty upon move in, gate NEVER works, homeless people constantly in and out, not safe, not worth it!!!!
Do not fall for the pretty pictures and videos they post. This place is disgusting. The so-called "furnished" apartments have nothing compared to what they show on the videos. The pet park is disgusting, smells all the time. All the door need "key fobs" to get in. Which is such a pain. One time I forgot the key fog and had to wait for hours outside the apartment complex so that someone could let me in. The biggest mistake I've ever made when I decided to move into this property. The management is rude an unhelpful with stupid rules. We had a 3 months lease and after 2 months when we decided not the extend, they mentioned that there must be a 60-day prior notice. I mean, who is going to notify the management that they will leave just when they are moving in. Horrible place! Just look somewhere else!
The worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived in! I ended up breaking my lease, which I have never done before but it was just so bad. The complex has the strongest odor of animal urine, and no one ever picks up their dogs poop. I had so many things break in my apartment, and maintenance would take about 2 weeks to get to it, I ended up having to get my step dad to fix a majority of it because it took them so long to get around to it. The apartments have a big steel door to get inside that slams all night long due to people coming in and out, you can’t get any sleep! The trash never gets picked up so the dumpsters are overflowing onto the walkway and into the parking lot. I have been threatened multiple times by neighbors and even people that don’t live there that have passed out in the parking lot. I have two police reports in the same day! I’m so glad I paid the $1600 to break my lease, all in all it’s completely disgusting and unsafe!
I rented with Urban 188 because of the staff being so helpful and attentive with the move in process. I love the renovations. I don’t care if I have a garbage disposal, dishwasher or a microwave. I love the pools, grills and garden they have on sight. Curb appeal could use some work but I’m happy that I rented here and recommend it.
When I first moved into my apartment, I noticed an overwhelming foul smell. I let management know where they someone to clean the floor with soap and water. Two of the staff came in to check out the issue, and they told me that its probably just because the unit is old that it smelled. I asked them how the AC worked since I could not turn in on to the remote. The woman then took the remote, showed me "how to turn it on", and then said "It is on" then left. I had a maintenance guy come in and say,"the air conditioning is off until the summer, and it only turns on if the 3rd floor apartment has their air on. Also, the heat only turns on if the 3rd floor has their on. I wish I knew before I moved in. Another situation is when I came into the office, I got a voicemail from one of the staff saying I had an important item come in. I knew what item she meant and I went to the office. I asked the office worker how the mail works when she rudely cut me off and said "You didn't receive a call from us". After a short and rude conversation, I found my own mail and left. Speaking of mail, larger mail items that can not fit in the mail box are placed in the front office. They have no system in place or supervision to make sure that your mail is not stolen. Many residents are often missing their mail, and they do not care to help you find it. If you don't mind seeing roaches in your apartment, then maybe this is the place for you. I can't wait to move out soon enough.
Its been a few months since Ive moved in and the two work orders Ive had have been completed promptly- I appreciate that. The ladies in the office have always been accommodating too. Sure it can be noisy and yes, there is unwanted traffic from time to time but HELLO we are in the city, as much as no one wants certain things it will undeniably happen- Welcome to Phoenix! Ha! I appreciate their efforts in trying to rid the issue with the vehicle gate. The location is great, and overall I am enjoying it.
Serious underlying health concerns and sever property issues with choosing to live here. Be sure you do complete research on this property (read all reviews on all websites) and you will come to learn that mold, pests, harassment, plumbing, sewage, electricity, parvo, amoung SEVERAL other very serious issues come with living here.
We have cockroaches in the apartment!!! Do not move here As for staff and maintenance, they are slow to respond and unprofessional when working with them! 1 month of living here and it’s been hell
Property Manager at Crosstown Phoenix, Responded To This Review
Oh no! We are so sorry you are having this experience. Please contact the front office staff. We offer free extermination services to our residents. We have a professional company who comes out once a week. We will send them to your apartment upon request. They also treat the exterior of the property monthly. Again please contact the office so that we can resolve this issue. I hope the rest of your stay improves and is enjoyable. Thank you.
As a current resident, I think it is imperative to clarify some of the misleading information on this page. First, there is no assigned or covered parking. It is just a standard surface lot where it's first come, first served. Next, the "fitness programs" as of right now only consist of yoga. So if you're into that, then great, but there's no other fitness stuff going on. As for the renovation date, yes some were renovated by then, but renovations are still ongoing, which leads to obnoxious noise and unsafe practices, such as leaving power tools unattended and leaving sharp and rusty objects on the ground where children and pets are walking. I'm not sure what the "courtyard" is they have listed, there are pool areas and yoga decks, no courtyard. Yes, there is a dog area. It is dirty, smells bad most of the time, and is extremely tiny. The smoke free listing is also very misleading, as the only place smoke free is inside the apartments. If you have sensitive lungs or care about your health when it comes to second hand smoke exposure, this is a horrible place to live. There is a lot of smoking constantly. The "island kitchen" is a bit misleading as well. They may be in the one bedrooms (not sure), but there is no island in the studios, it is a bar, not a separate counter, which is what an island actually is (maybe they just got their wording incorrect). As for personal experience, this place has been terrible. From the shoddy construction to the unhelpful and condescending office staff (there is maybe one exception to this), it has been one problem after another. Ants, roaches, and plenty of feral cats that hang out and meow all throughout the night. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone. Please do your research and seriously consider everything before spending so much money on such a poorly built and managed complex. If I could give zero stars, I most happily would.
We are current residents and we would like to comment on some of the things listed above. (1) There is no indication that this complex is eco-friendly. There's nothing specially used to make it eco-friendly, it's just pretty normal. No LEED certifications or anything. (2) They claim to be smoke free, but residents constantly smoke and it wafts into our apartment. (3) They claim to be marijuana free, but it's the same deal as the regular smoking. (4) There is no covered parking available, and no assigned parking. Parking is not hard to get, but saying there are assigned spots or covered parking is false. (5)There is no wi-fi available at the pool. (6) I'm not really sure what the "clubhouse" is, there doesn't seem to be one. Unless they are referring to the office, but in that case, it's still not a clubhouse. (7) Courtesy patrol doesn't seem to be available, we've never been told about this and have never seen a patrol person. (8) There are no accent walls. Our entire apartment is white colored walls (mostly painted brick). (9) Renovations and construction are ongoing as of Nov. 29, 2017. All of this is based off of what is on this website, other issues exist but aren't covered above.
