The largest city in North Dakota, Fargo rests on the North Dakota-Minnesota border and the western banks of the Red River. However, Fargo residents affectionately refer to their location as “North of Normal.”
You might find that Fargo is a bit different when you stop by the Fargo-Moorhead Visitor Center and see the woodchipper from the movie Fargo. Maybe it’ll be when you start spotting members of the colorful herd of bison painted by various artists scattered all around town, and rightfully decide to go on a scavenger hunt to find them all. Perhaps you’ll find it unique that Wurst Bier Hall serves a rattlesnake rabbit bratwurst and indulge your curiosity. You’ll notice that North of Normal is a pretty interesting place to be.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Fargo. Plains Art Museum and Rourke Art Gallery and Museum offer residents and visitors endless opportunities to admire art with all kinds of rotating exhibits.

Property Ratings at Urban Meadows Apartments
Dana, the property manager, was great to work with. She was responsive to issues that arose and took care of things promptly. I think she is largely responsible for how well my time renting from Valley Rental went. The two stall garages were a nice plus. Location is very convenient. Even running the AC frequently, my electric bill was never over $45. In the winter heat is paid for but the building is also well insulated so it was never a problem. The units are laid out well to maximize the space. A negative for me was having to walk a substantial distance in the dark (and on ice in the winter) to the garage. Only other "negatives" I could think of are some appliances are cheaper quality and prone to not working the best and lack of cameras on the property. None of those things ever became a big issue. I think you can tell a lot about a management company with how they treat you during move out. My move out experience was completely fair and quick.
I have been here 2 years and am ready to renew for a third. This was the only apartment I could find that would take 2 big dogs when I moved to Fargo. There had been at least 3 previous tenants (based on old catalogs and stuff) but the apartment was completely clean and in good repair when I moved in. Maintenance items have been resolved within three weeks. Easy to clean, appliances relatively new. Good cupboard space, closet space, lots of outlets. Free cable and internet! You may need a sound machine for sleeping, depending on your neighbors. Entries and halls are cleaned frequently, and everyone picks up after their dogs. The lease is long and detailed and not everyone follows it. Dogs are often left out on tie-outs or on balconies, tenants take short-cuts across the grass and let their dogs walk onto your patio, some smokers try to hide in their cars or near dumpsters to smoke, some dogs are allowed off leash to chase the geese. Snow removal is usually prompt and thorough. Last winter I had to dig out 3 times when we just had too much drifting. The grass is mowed and kept nice, but the trees are all nicked by the mowers and some have died from the damage. Nice place, but neighbor's dog is barking right now, and new upstairs neighbor smokes on his balcony and drops the butts down onto my patio. Nothing I can do. Could use a bit more support from the folks enforcing the lease.
The apartment is spacious and has all appliances included. Large closets are a big plus. They are very safe, must be a resident to have a key to the main buildings. They are great for animal lovers. It was one of the few places we found in Fargo that would allow our pet. The outdoors area is also nice with lots of places to walk our dog. The pond outside our door makes the place that much more special. There are lots of shops, restaurants, etc near by.
Best apartment. I've ever lived in. This is one of the only apartment in Fargo that allow you to have 2 dogs of any size. Plus if there are any problems with my apartment they will be out the next day to fix it. Pretty impressed with valley rental!
This one of the best apartments Ive lived in. Tho my carpet wasnt changed out it was cleaned well after last tenant. Bedsrooms are a good size. I do wish there was a bit different layout to the kitchen and fridge is small but it all works. I do absoultly love having a washer and drier but I still have to take big blankets to the laundry mat, because my unit has a smaller stacker set. For apartment living its very quite and I have a view of the "lake" which is super pretty at sunset. I havent lived here threw a winter so Im hoping snow removal is good.
I moved here in July and it's been great from day one. Maintenance issues are taken care of the next day, grounds are kept up and common areas cleaned daily. This building allows tenants to have up to two large breed dogs. You'd never know that the building is pet friendly by the smell. They keeps the carpets shampooed and the apartments are pretty sound proof. No annoying dogs barking nonstop. I would highly recommend this complex with anyone looking for pet friendly housing.
