With its tight city lots, charming older housing, diverse population, and rich history, St. Louis Park has all the hallmarks of a top-tier suburb, making it feel a lot like the city. The Aquila neighborhood, which lies directly west of Minneapolis in the southwestern corner of St. Louis Park, borders the neighboring cities of Hopkins and Minnetonka. This central position lets residents easily access amenities throughout the city.
The neighborhood, with its post-war housing and close-knit neighborhoods, exemplifies the and fun-loving reputation of the city while still existing as a popular place for families. The 2009 film "A Serious Man" was set in St. Louis Park, the hometown of its filmmakers, Joel and Ethan Coen. Quick access to the heart of the city and the surrounding highways make travelling in and out of Aquila a breeze.

Property Ratings at Urban Park I and II Apartments
I moved out of Urban Park not long ago and absolutely loved my stay. Customer service was always great, maintenance would most the time be there same day or have an excuse to why they weren’t. Loved the properties accessiblility to nearby stores (target being in the same parking lot). Couldn’t speak highly enough about the management office, as they even checked in in passing to see if everything was ok.
Property Manager at Urban Park I and II Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for sharing your experience at Urban Park. We wish you the best in your new home!
Apartment quality in building 1 is not “luxury” or even close to the quality they try to pass it off as and charge you for. Closet doors fell off, washing machine and dryer both broke down, garbage disposal broke, both toilets broke at one point or another. Things fall apart or break down constantly. And to top it off, management is utterly incompetent and makes even the simplest administrative mistakes. Then when you confront them about it, they are rude and actually have the audacity to make excuses as to how it’s somehow not their fault. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Property Manager at Urban Park I and II Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Reviewer, The items you have noted are all normal wear and tear (including adjusting closet doors, tightening toilet seats, toilet flapper, loose washer lid switch, new dryer knob) and are typically repaired within 24 hours. Despite your comments pertaining to management, other reviewers have enjoyed their interactions and residency at Urban Park. I’m sorry you haven't felt the same. Kathy S., Property Manager
Management staff are utterly inept and refuse to take any kind of responsibility for their blatant mistakes. Which happen often. Then they they say "there's nothing we can do to fix it". The condition of the apartment at move in was filthy - paint and urine stains on the floors). Also, the walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbor sneeze. I survived with noise-cancelling headphones and keeping the bathroom fan on in my room. The convenient location and parking space is pretty much the only appealing part about living there. Though, street parking can be dismal at night so hopefully you don't have any friends or guests with cars over ever.
If the reviews for Urban Park are any indication of its quality of living and service, I'm staying far away. Setting aside the complaints voiced in other tenants' reviews, the one from August 23, 2016 was obviously a pathetic attempt by the property owner to make themselves look better to potential tenants. When I visited their office myself to see if the reviews held up, the staff was rude and dismissive of any concerns I had. Very poor first impression.
Property Manager at Urban Park I and II Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Reviewer, I am sorry that you had a poor experience with the Urban Park staff. I would love the opportunity to discuss what happened. I can speak for myself and our Leasing Consultant that we treat our residents and prospective residents with respect and kindness. We truly enjoy our job serving our residents and all who walk through our front door. I may be reached at 952-938-4359. Thank you, Kathy S., Property Manager
If you missed out on living in a frat or sorority then this is the place for you! Your neighbors are young and loudly party almost every weekend. Wrestling matches in the halls! Stomp racing up and down the stairs! Invincible, your neighbors don't need masks during the pandemic! And that's just a taste of inside of the building. Outside you can enjoy round the clock bangs, clangs, and backup alarms from the trucks servicing the businesses next door. It's a 24/7 noise-fest.
Management of this building has been horrible. Constant turnover. Tenants are always moving in and out. Average turnover is one to two years. Management comes in your apartment without permission and without telling you. Management looks for any way charge tenants. There's no negotiating the terms of the lease when you leave. If you buy a house and you have to leave 6 months early, they will make you pay for the entire 6 months. If you stay 5 minutes Class 12 noon on your lease. They will charge you for the next month. Management doesn't care about tenants Who currently live here. They only care about the getting new tenants in. I imagine they're getting paid a commission. They give you tickets, lease violations. 3 tickets and you are evicted. I received a ticket for having a fold-up grocery cart in front of my car. I received another ticket for letting my dog's leash down, well helping a handicapped person through the double doors. The building is far from soundproof and neighbors are very noisy. You can hear your neighbors from every apartment on every side of you. If a neighbor is unreasonably loud or going out of their way to bother you, management will not help. You can hear your neighbors talking through the wall. It's difficult to sleep when they stay up late. If you get a neighbor who likes loud music or loves the video games, good luck. Management will not help you. You can even hear your neighbors going to the bathroom while you're in your kitchen, which is pretty gross.
I have lived here for 3 years and have really enjoyed my stay. Urban Park Apartments is in a great area, the building is clean and relatively new, there is a Target right next door and they have ample parking. The office staff is incredibly nice and actually cares when any issues come up. I have only had 2 minor issues while living here and they have been taken care of immediately . I would recommend Urban Park to anybody looking for a place to live in Saint Louis Park. I looked at maybe 20 apartments before moving here and I have no doubts I made the right choice.
Urban Park Apartments was recently bought out by Cady Management just over a year ago. I was a bit hesitant based on historical reviews but we moved into a three-bedroom corner unit in October 2016 and are now renewing our lease for the next 12 months. We are very happy with the building, our apartment, the staff, and the surrounding neighborhood! Biggest personal positive call outs... - AMAZING OFFICE STAFF: Katie and Kim are always quick to address questions/concerns via email or phone. - 24/7 MAINTENANCE team: super friendly and timely. - RECENTLY RENOVATED landscape and outdoor grill area. - CLEAN COMMUNAL AREAS: hallways, stair wells, parking garage, and party room. - AMBLE PARKING for tenants and visitors: front lot, back lot, underground, and 24/7 public street parking. - POLITE NEIGHBORS: families, elderly, recent grads, etc. - SAFE neighborhood. - QUICK ACCESS to 169 and Highway 7. - STAINLESS STEAL APPLIANCES, new carpet in bedrooms, mock wood floors, fresh paint, etc. - TALL CEILINGS and BIG WINDOWS. - FIREPLACE is a plus. The only things I wish could be different are granite counter tops and a larger work out room - both are personal preferences. We had friends recently move into the building based on our our positive feedback. I highly recommend Urban Park Apartments!
I would NEVER recommend living here. The management is extremely lazy and does not respond to your requests. They don't care at all about you as a resident because they know it's a good location so they can get away with treating people terribly. Don't be fooled by the fact that it looks nice - the appliances, light fixtures, etc. are extremely cheap and will fall apart on you.
