Property Ratings at Urban Park Towers
If you are desperate for affordable housing, older or disabled and have limited income, The Towers would be a good temporary place till you get better housing. It is subsidized by HUD, so it is based on 30 percent of your income. They go a thorough background check, although people slip in there or have friends in there that deal drugs, hard drugs like heroin and crack. There is also prostitution where prostitutes roam the building for tricks. There is a lot of loud people in there, hoarders, and those with hygiene issues. The hallways are not bad, but this a 150 room building, so you have a lot of people. The tenants can bother you by knocking on your door late at night. You have inspections for HUD and building management where they go in your apartment without asking. The apartment building manager is a do nothing, basically, she likes evicting and busting tenants for cannabis. She does not go out of the way to help you, she just goes through the motion of the job. Strong no smoking policy, you cannot smoke in your rooms and there are very little spaces to smoke. No general outside patio or anywhere to smoke outside. This is great for temp housing, but find a place that's better to live in when you can.
