If the idea of living in New York City appeals to you but you want a slightly less crowded place to call home, a place where far fewer tourists tend to venture, then Staten Island might be for you. Most residents rely on the Staten Island Ferry to get to lower Manhattan, especially since many New Yorkers don’t own cars. However, if you’re planning to drive, you can also reach Staten Island from Brooklyn over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.
While Staten Island doesn’t contain the large number of landmarks you’ll find in Manhattan, there are a few terrific destinations to explore, such as Conference House Park. This park contains four historic buildings dating back to the late 1600s. The Conference House was the site of an unsuccessful Revolutionary War peace conference, held in 1776. The park also contains playgrounds, a canoe launch, and dog-friendly areas. In the summer, residents head to the beautiful beaches and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk.

Property Ratings at Staten Island Urby
the good: the apartments are reasonably clean (mine has water damage upon moving in but isnt a deal breaker), staff is friendly and maintenance has been very helpful the few times ive needed to interact with them, lax rules on pets makes owning a pet more reasonable than elsewhere, the gym is very nice, laundry in unit is awesome, appliances are stainless steel and very nice as well the bad: the lax rules on pets means im often listening to large dogs barking for hours on end, tenants dont really care if their pets use the bathroom indoors (the hallways often smell like dog urine), within 3 months of starting my lease there were 2 vehicle break-ins (including my own), parking is expensive and handled by a 3rd party who is only available for 2 days out of the week, my bathroom smells like cigarettes when the neighbors smoke renting at urby is getting early in the gentrification of stapleton. the price is far too high for the area, and while the units themselves are fairly nice and the amazon lockers are a luxury, your money is better spent elsewhere. there are more large apartment buildings going up in the area; i can only imagine what rent is going to look like in a few years time.
Very comfortable complex! Excellent conditions. Always responsive management! Clean water, water quality control in the pool. super equipped hall) is the best of the conditions that can be purchased for this money, monthly !!
Urban farm has fresh produce and hosts a farmers market in the summer. The design is nice. Easy to get to the ferry.
Who knew Staten Island had gems like this!? Can't wait for the shops to open, rumor has it there will be a taco spot with an arcade! Living at Urby you will always have something to do. Go to the gym... go to events... chill at the fire pit. Eat awesome burgers. The list goes on people! Love. It. Here.
I have lived here for a year and the building is lively and full of action. The building is modern and offers a lot of amenities such as a gym, a pool, underground parking, bicycle storage. They have cooking classes and there's even a farm which is pretty cool. Each unit comes with a washer/dryer and maintenance works hard to address your concerns. I work in the Financial District so getting to work is easy and almost free. I used to live in New Jersey so I don't miss being packed on the train during rush hour.
Cockroach found in apartment one week after moving in. Water is dirty
Unruly neighbors, smokers everywhere, dogs running rampant in courtyard, cloudy water, rude management. Spend your money somewhere else.
As a health conscious New Yorker - Urby totally fits with my lifestyle. I recently moved into the Staten Island Urby, and it does not disappoint. We have had yoga and a hike through one of SI's excellent natural resources, and there is even a farm in our courtyard! Living in a fast-paced city like New York, it can be hard to stick with healthy, natural choices. But being at Urby, makes it very easy! So thankful to the team here, and our great farmers!
Just moved here from out of state and the staff at Urby has made me feel so at home. I am loving the events and Brendan's cooking classes. The coffee shop in the lobby doesn't hurt either. I can't wait for the summer to hang out in the pool for all the new retail which will be right out my door!
