The fire alarm goes off so frequently (at least 2x a month) that when there is an actually emergency like there was a few months ago people were still in the building when the hazmat team was clearing it. The hot water has not worked the past 2 months . The building was purchased by a new management company who primarily just uses AI to answer things, will close out support tickets without even fixing anything, and the most communication we get from them is how on Wednesday mornings they are doing admin hour and to not bother them

to be an incredible place to live, but ever since the new property management company, MG Properties, took over, my experience has been awful and I do not feel safe living here. I have had multiple packages stolen, and have even filed police reports and jumped through every hoop they have given me, only to be told "sorry, packages are not our liability". There is a KNOWN package theft issue that the management refuses to actually take seriously. Given the complete lack of care to this issue, as well as other safety concerns in the building, I no longer feel safe living at Valdok, especially as a single woman living alone. If you value your safety, do not live at Valdok.

The view is beautiful from the roof is beautiful and this place is very pet friendly and there are a lot of cute shops nearby and the buses are fairly reliable.

Quite a popular building, willing to work with you for transfers to a different apartment. I have lived here for 3 years, I fell safe in the building as they take security very seriously

Valdok Apartments is a nice place to live. It is spacious and the neighborhood is lively. The rooftop space is beautiful with a mountain view and a good walking trail. The lounge and office spaces are also well-maintained and easy spot to choose for a quiet meeting to attend. I loved living and enjoyed the office spaces.

Overall decent apartment building. Friendly staff. Good amenities. Nice location. Parking on the street is not the best, recommend paying the extra $200 for a spot in the garage.

When I was looking for apartments in Ballard, I kept coming back to Valdok. I loved the tall windows in every unit, the rooftops, the gyms, and the bathroom mirrors! I am very happy with my decision to live here :)

Been here 3 years . The building is good, maintenance is good, a bit noisy on the alley side of building one, I would recommend this building to others.

Valdok is safe, clean, and overall, a pleasant community to be apart. We are enjoying our stay here and looking forward to the upcoming spring and summer in Ballard.

Great amenities and location. It can get noisy depending on which way your windows face but nothing some earbuds won't fix. Finishings are ultra modern, wish there wasn't carpet in the bedroom but other than that overall pretty good

We have had a great experience here. We love the building amenities and monthly social events, and you can beat the location. We are walking distance from Historic Ballard, on the 17th street healthy street for a safe way to get around on your bike, and minutes away from the Rapid Ride D, route 44 and route 40 stops. The staff that work here are helpful and nice.

Really like the layout of my apartment, but the direction it is facing is very noisy even with the windows closed, and even the smells from the restaurant make it hard to leave the windows open sometimes.

Living on the first floor at Valdok has been amazing. With huge windows that face my back patio, I get to enjoy rainy day views and sit out and enjoy the sunshine on nice days!

Nearly a 12% rental increase from the previous year. In comparison, for the first three years I lived here, it went up a total of 10% through three total leases signed. This isn't because 'rents are up in the neighborhood' either, as there are comparable/lower rental costs for similar or larger spaces. Open maintenance work orders aren't getting handled, staff can be short and slow to reply - the saving grace is the neighborhood.

Valdok is so clean, has beautiful finishing touches, and it feels like home already! Also the lobby smells so good! My favorite part about living here is the convenience, I can walk to everywhere I need to go.

Valdok is an amazing community to live at... Every month we have community events which are very fun and in line with the seasons which makes it very welcoming/inviting...

Overall the building is quiet, the maintenance team has been pleasant and easy to work with, and the amenities are fine. The highlight isn't the building itself, but the neighborhood and closeness to most conveniences with a few options for each; package shipping, groceries, restaurants, nightlight, and public transportation if needed. A few gripes; packages go missing, upper floors get fairly warm in the summer (great in the winter), staff turnover, and in the few years I've been here every time I ask about the rooftop firepit I've been told it doesn't have a dial/knob to work it because a tenant previously lost or broke it - come back a few weeks later and it's on, so no idea what is going on there. Some tenants here are fairly entitled and can be off-putting; maybe not the complex fault, but it leads to things like stolen packages/food, pets being allowed to pee in the elevators, dogs being unleashed on the rooftops (peeing and pooping), especially in the evening.

Good- apartment is very new and spacious Bad- packaged get stolen all the time and there is no ownership in ensuring that nothing gets stolen. Their response is collect packages sooner. I've seen on community page that people have their packages stolen within an hour. Otherwise as well, management is bad. Though, shoutout to Madison, she's great and the only saving grace!

Overall very satisified with the apartment building an facilities. Was a bit surprised such a modern building doesn't have individually controlled air conditioning in the individual units. On that point, the heater vents were very tiny compared to the size needed to heat (baseboard heaters would have been better). The common areas are great very nice especially in Valdok 1, just small details that are off, like consistently loose door handles, hammock stands without hammocks, dirty furniture etc. Nice for a year, but not worth the rent hikes to stay longer.

There is absolutely no better place to call home than Valdok Apartments. From its centralized location just walks away from Ballard dives and dines, to its modernized amenities, spacious units, and amazing Leasing staff. This is home.

So far it's been a pleasant experience. Staff is helpful and we haven't had any major issues. Location is great, near lots of coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

good location, nice staff, lots of homeless people in neighborhood that can be really loud at night. Only issue is people not using leashes for dogs.

We love it here! The apartment is beautiful, the staff have been so helpful and friendly. Madison was amazing when I was trying to get everything done with my lease while I was still living on the other side of the country. We love the location and the amenities, and they always make our pups feel welcome.

I just moved in & a big reason why was because Madison is so warm and easy to work with. She’s considerate and helpful at each stage of the move-in process. So far, I love my new spot at Valdok! It’s generally quiet and I feel safe.

Pretty decent building, biggest problem is getting packages stolen or picked up mistakenly by another resident Maintenance team is awesome It would be nice to get more management of the sidewalks outside the building, sometimes it’s just covered in dog waste and is pretty gross as it gets later in the day

Valdok has been amazing! It is a very high end feeling building with a fair price tag. My unit is very quiet and I rarely hear anyone in the halls. The gyms are updated and clean and the lobby is very nice.

Madison is an absolute gem. My girlfriend and I moved here out of state and we all know how stressful moving is. Madison took so much time to answer questions and speed up the approval process for us. We absolutely fell in love with these apartments online and we are so glad we live here now! The cleanliness of these apartments is impeccable. We toured quiet a few prior to moving to Seattle and these apartments give you so much more need s than wants. The staff here is wonderful and the amenities are amazing as well! We are so glad to be here and than you Madison for all your help!

We love it here! The rooftop views are spectacular. Since i WFH some days, having a shared office space downstairs wheee I can have phone calls and meetings are super convenient. The dog area upstairs make it easy for us to let our dog out to potty between meetings

Great experience moving in and Madison has been the best. Love our new place amenities and our dogs have been loving the walks around the neighborhood

The apartments are modern, nice staff, and adequate amenities. One con - the area has a lot of theft. cars are constantly broken into and items stolen. A lot things are broken around the complex.

These apartments have been some of my favorite to live in in comparison to a lot of others. The location is amazing. I love being able to walk to anything Ballard and the market is steps away on Sundays. The community spaces in both buildings are very attractive and well maintained. All of our appliances are pretty new and the apartments are clearly well taken care of. My only critique would be the parking garage. While better than resorting to street parking, it is fairly cramped and the spaces are small, not great for a larger car.

the location couldn't be better and all of our neighbors are friendly. everything works and the staff is extra communicative! great staff, super quiet and nice building. we love it here.

Great place to stay. The building is really quiet (or at least my floor is). It’s always kept clean, and there are always events for the residents. It’s on a quiet side street of the neighborhood and close to many restaurants and grocery stores. I love it here!

1. Bikes are stolen constantly. The upside is that they don't charge for bike storage for that reason. However the bike storage area has massive windows where you can clearly see all the bikes. When I left, there was a massive break in and someone stole multiple bikes. 2. No accountability. A staff member said they would set up our electricity account and email us the password so that we can pay the bill. Not only did they not email us the password, they also entered the wrong address. The bills were being sent to another unit. The city ended up charging us a late fee because we never received these bills AND we couldn't log into the account. The staff refused to take responsibility for it let alone respond to our messages.

DO NOT LEASE FROM THIS PLACE! Your stuff will be stolen! There are regular thefts in the building and the management team is unwilling or unable to do anything about it. Cars are broken into in the building's garage, and bikes are stolen from the bike room with shocking frequency. Management knows this happens and can't/wont stop it, and will not try to make it right. The fact they charge $200 a month for parking in a garage with this many break-ins is some kind of dark joke.

I don’t review anything usually, but I’ve had it with this place. My wife and I have rented all over Seattle for the past 5 years, and nothing comes close to what we have experienced here in almost every aspect of renting. Not a single good thing to say. The building is not secure, and the staff has made no effort to improve anything. We have been robbed twice here in 7 months - our deposit check was stolen from their safe and our storage unit was raided. Fire alarms have gone off 5 times, once in the middle of the night where we were forced to wait 2 hours to re-enter because of building security - there was a break-in and a fire was intentionally started to evacuate units so that they could be robbed. The walls are paper thin. I can hear every footstep and bark from my neighbor and the dog above us. It’s rarely cleaned compared to other places we have lived. The floors and workout rooms are consistently dirty. Hey, why don’t you guys tone down the “cupcake parties” in the common areas and pay someone to vacuum the carpet on my floor? Simple maintenance requests take at least a week and are handled on the weekend which is very bothersome and odd, considering we’ve never seen it before anywhere else except for emergency. They have been doing construction on this brand new building for 3 months now because of water damage or something. Who knows management has never said anything. It’s very bothersome as I work remotely and can hear the workers every day.
