Property Ratings at Valentine Commons
10 floors, 2 elevators that only work half the time each, one flight of stairs. This place is a fire hazard waiting to happen, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Property Manager at Valentine Commons, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thanks for your input. We apologize for any elevator issues that you might have experienced, but all elevators are up and running. Any time we have issues our technicians are quick to being work to repair. Also, just to ensure that we're being clear about our building in this response, there are 4 total staircases throughout the building. Please reach out to management if you have any additional questions, we're more than happy to address any other concerns you may have, we always appreciate feedback where we can make positive changes.
they never are at the desk when you need them, there are constant maintenance issues that take forever to get fixed, they dont have lights in the bedrooms, they have the smell of dead rats in the walls, the elevators NEVER WORK and more. They changed the locks to our doors and made it challenging for us to get new keys so I was locked out of my apartment for a long time since they never have someone on staff to help you or answer your call when you need help. I could go on an on. terrible place, terrible management, just awful.
The new management sucks and so does the apartment complex. It is not at all worth your money, I wish I had never lived here. The staff also will give you the stink eye when you go to pick up a package. Also theyre closed on weekends and the hours are very short
Property Manager at Valentine Commons, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thanks for your feedback, we're not sure what to make of the stink eye but we hope that no residents ever feel like getting their packages is a burden, because it's certainly not.
Terrible property, old and musty with rodent and bug problems everywhere. The management is so bad at their jobs and I don’t think they actually do anything. Student workers are nice at least, but that can’t fix an overall terrible place.
DO NOT live here. WASTE OF MONEY. I was waiting for improvement before posting my review, but things only got worse since I moved in. First, I moved into an apartment with a leaking washing machine, clogged shower drain, window mildew, broken windows, a broken fridge, and paint splattered all over the floors and carpet. Repairs like the drain and paint cleanup were quick, but some things took months. The broken windows opened on their own causing flooding in the kitchen, so we had to duct tape them. It took numerous requests before our windows were fixed 3 or 4 months later. It also took at least 3 tries before we received a new functioning refrigerator. Aside from these things, I have never had a pleasant experience with the maintenance crew. They've been very rude to me and all of my roommates. Currently it has been at least one week since the trash room on my floor has been cleaned out. There is so much built up recycling that the door is propped open by trash, and we have been unable to dispose of our recycling. This does not help that there are mice in there as well. The only positive is that it is so close to campus, but you are better off living in a dorm or another smaller complex that actually cares about your living experience. I do not recommend anyone ever live here.
This place is disgusting. It seems okay at the beginning but it gets worse throughout the year. It smelled AWFUL every day and there was always a new terrible smell. There is zero sound proofing so you hear everything. The amenities are terrible. Staff is just other college students and are not managed well. The only positive is that it is close to campus and maintenance is okay but that is not worth it with the rest of the cons.
This place is GROSS. The hallways smell awful because the trashrooms are overflowing into the hallway! I am on the fourth floor and the trash chute is filled up all the way to my floor! So the trash rooms has bags everywhere and mice and roaches. When I moved in my bathtub was clogged. Clearly they didn’t clean if the drains were clogged. Things keep falling apart and they don’t come to fix anything except for lightbulbs.
If I could give this apartment complex -5 stars, I would. This is literally the worst living experience of my life. DO NOT LIVE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Their office is full of liars and crooks. They try to trick you into signing your lease by claiming that all of the spots are almost full , but that is not true! They just lie. All of the amenities in the apartment are broken or in need of repair. Only one elevator works for all ten floors, which means you wait 5-7 minutes each time and then another 5-7 minutes to get dropped off. The gym never has wipes, stinks, and all the equipment is loose or broken. The hallways are disgusting, carpets stained, and the paint on the walls are chipped. The apartments themselves are also in terrible condition. Paint splatters on all the furniture, the cabinets are broken, the carpets are stained, and the window stills are cracked. Additionally, they are always having leaks all around the apartment complex which leads to mold. The wifi never works and when you try to get it fixed they refer you to a hotline number. The parking deck is never gated, so anyone can go in and park. I've never seen anyone get towed, so you're basically paying for a parking pass for no reason. There are drainage issues with all the sinks and bath tubs. When you bring up these issues to the office, they are condescending and treat you as if you are a child. They don't care about anything except their money. Overall, this is the worst place to live. Do not be fooled and do not be tempted to move in because of the proximity to NCSU. You are better off staying in a dorm then living in these terrible, disgusting, and dirty apartments. Don't give your money to liars, crooks, and just overall rude and inconsiderate people!
Great apartment complex, has everything that you need. Very friendly staff and great security. Love how close it is to campus.
