Property Ratings at Vanderbilt Apartments
The pictures look nothing like the actual units. The listing also states that a washer and dryer come with the unit, but they do not. You are required to rent them for an additional fee. The bathroom sink is also entirely separate from the bathroom and surrounded by carpet. Run, don't walk away from here!
Property Manager at Vanderbilt Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank-you for your feedback. Our community offers 4 floorplans with 4 different renovation packages. Each package is a different price point and does give the apartment a different look and feel. Sounds like you were shown an available apartment that looked different than the photos you viewed. The listing includes photos of all 4 finishes of each package, but it can be confusing. We reviewed the listing in regards to the washer and dryer. It lists Washer/Dryer Hookup. To clarify, the hookup is an amenity but it excludes the machines. The floor covering in the Classic Package is carpeting. There is not carpet in the space where the shower/tub is located; however, the floorplans where the vanity is separated by a door it is carpeted. We hope to change your mind and ask to give our community another opportunity to show you the other packages that may fit your needs better.
Nice office staff and maintenance, but BE AWARE when I reported leaking from upstairs apartments numerous times instead of fixing the mold/mildew it caused they just spray painted over the issue. The spray paint also got all over my Play Station, Tables, TV, and Shower head, the only resolution they had was to offer me $200 off rent and to try to scrape it off. I am SURE we had a lot of mold in our apartment.
I lived here for two years. My rent was paid in full on time 100% of the time. In April we called to let them know we were moving out when our lease ended in June. In May we called again to ask what we needed. We went to the office and spoke to an employee who gave us the checkout sheet. We asked if there was anything else we needed to do before we moved out and we were told no. In September I get a letter from a collection agency saying I owe two months worth of rent. When I called the office they said they put me on a month to month lease because it was never in writing. We provided them with phone logs to show when we called. We provided cancellation of our renters insurance. We provided proof that no documents were signed for a month to month lease. We were told that we were notified of late payments by posting a message on our door. A door we no longer lived at. When I brought up an attorney we were told that they have been told that several times before and we won’t win because it’s a he said she said. Meaning this has happened before. Meaning they are stealing from people and getting away with it. A company that has over 100 apartments rented out is trying to ruin a families financial situation when there is proof that nobody lived there. Greed. Will not recommend to anyone after this.
Run Run Run! These apartments are horrible. Mice actively making way into apartment, and when requested maintenence, they do nothing for a week. Finally when I get a response, they refused to send exterminator and instead just wanted to set down traps. The building is old and decaying. Newer, nicer, and cheaper apartments in the area. And when you have a problem with your unit, which you will since they are so old, the office is always closed. Listed as monday-saturday 9am-5pm GOOD LUCK trying to get in contact with anyone. They have a call center service calls when Vanderbilt refuses to answer, but they have no power to do anything, just give Vanderbilt notice you want a callback that they never return. There is no oversight, supervision, or management at Vanderbilt. Yes read that again, hopefully they are in office and feel like helping you. Vanderbilt loves closing the office early! Also enjoy the required 60 day notice to vacate that every lease requires when you leave. Enjoy paying an extra month's rent when you leave. If you still decide to live there after reading this you only have your self to blame.
I’ve been here for 5 years. Fees have gone up, and the service has gone down. They’ve taken out all the trees that give shade, so if your building faces west you roast in the afternoon. You now have to give 60 days notice to leave instead of 30. “Market rate” rent prices on buildings that are 40 years old and have never been updated. Keep looking. For similar prices you can get much better in St Peters.
We lived at Vanderbilt Apartments for 10 months and it was by far the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. The staff were amazingly helpful and kind from the moment we came in to tour an apartment up until the time we moved. You can tell they really care about their residents and do everything they can to make sure your living experience is the best it can be. The maintenance team is very responsive, quick, and efficient. We had no issues with getting our deposit back and the price for rent was very affordable, especially for the level of quality of the apartments. The only reason we moved was because we were moving out of state for school/work. We would have renewed our lease until we were ready to build a house if we hadn't changed states. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone looking for housing in the St. Charles County Area.
My girlfriend and I love to live here. We have picked this place as our first place to love on our own and it was the best idea ever. Maintenance is great, place is clean and friendly. Safe neighborhood. We couldn't be any happier.
