Property Ratings at Vantage Hollywood
If you are reading this... Please keep looking. Moving into this apartment was my worst mistake. The elevator always smells like animal urine, and the people above me are loud 90% of the time. Plus! This apartment will charge you A MILLION FEES. They make it difficult to live here.
This complex has become a haven for AirBnB/Vrbo renters despite not being allowed in the lease agreement. The office has been made aware of these apartments and have done nothing about it. The residents that live here just have to deal with the constant noise, mail room and car break-ins as well as a near constant issue with having our parking spots taken by people that don’t live here.
Lived here for two years. Moved from Koreatown and thought this place looked nice compared to what I was used to. It may be an upgrade from KTown but it’s not all looks. During my time of staying several people had cars stolen from the secure parking lot - my car was broken into once. One of the elevators almost broke down while I was inside and was stuck for 15 minutes. Multiple homeless people found on the sun deck and in stairwells shooting up drugs. Cockroaches and bugs are found everywhere. Airbnb’s are very common in this building and management doesn’t seem to care even though it’s obvious who is doing this. Those airbnb guests are always so loud by the pools. Speaking of noise, people will blast music all afternoon and into the late hours of the night with lots of base. Good luck getting the main office to reply to your emails. The mail and package room has been broken into and raided at least 3 times that i’ve seen. The only good thing I could say about this place is how friendly and professional the maintenance staff is. They work so hard and are always on top of keeping this place somewhat good. Just look somewhere else.
I’m all about apartment living being loud especially in LA, but this place is insane. Human pee all over the place, drug needles in the stairwells, full of Airbnb’s and after you’re first year, expect a very stiff increase. Cops constantly called here, fire alarms at 3am, cars broken into constantly, mail stolen on multiple times from the mailboxes and mail room. Do yourself a favor.. pay a little more and go somewhere else
Airbnb, arrests, car thefts from the gated garage, mail theft, elevators break a lot, walls are squeaky and thin. Absolutely unsafe and awful. Avoid at all costs.
Been living here for less than two months and I’ve already seen 3 big cockroaches inside the apartment and lots of baby roaches. I’ve been living in LA for 4 years and this is the first apartment where I’ve had problems with cockroaches.
I was asked to write a review, and initially I wanted to give a good rating but honestly the noise does echo bad from walls, slamming doors around 5pm and e-mails regarding maintenance are not responded to at all, let alone 24 hours. The friendliness of leasing office is 5 stars though and they have a recycle dumpster here, which I enjoy.
Out of everywhere I’ve ever lived, I’ve had the most issues living in this building. They allow Air Bnb here, so a lot of the units are loud people partying all the time. On-Site security is a joke. They will do nothing if you have an issue. It’s nearly impossible to get in contact with the leasing management staff... They very rarely respond to emails or voicemails once you’re a resident. They’re almost never around to actually answer the phones, so commication is impossible. Plus, this building wasn’t built well. The walls are super thin, and you can hear everything from your neighbors appliance usage to their footsteps. The elevators are constantly broken, too. Nearly every week one goes out of service. And on top of all that, I had to move my bed into my living room because they designed my neighbors kitchen against my bedroom wall, so whenever that apartment used their garbage disposal or dishwasher, it would wake me up louder than an alarm clock. Terrible building design and management.
You know those hotels you stay at near the airport that just do the job of providing you a bed at a reasonably affordable price? That’s kinda like the Vantage. It’s not a bad place, it’s just certainly not luxury. It’s lost a lot of what made it special starting when it was bought by Equity Residential back in 2016. PRO -Location right by Runyon, Ralph’s down the street. It’s awesome. -Maintenance team is great. Most things are fixed within 24 hours. -it’s safe. Patrol at night is always there and keeps noise down. -Leasing Office is nice but seems their hands are tied by corporate overlords. -As long as you are not on Hollywood blvd, the street noise is remarkably low in the building, it really blocks it well. CON -AirBnb hotbed because of location. All the long term residents have left. It does not feel like a community at all. -Noisy in the courtyard that echoes really bad. If your widows face the courtyard you have to sleep with them closed or you will be woken up in the middle of the night when people come back into the building. -Basically all the amenities are broken. —-Gym. Treadmills in the gym were down for over a year before finally being replaced. TVs to this day are not useable as you can’t change the channel. —-Rooftop. All cushions have been removed, Grill is broke, sun shades are ripped. Hard chairs that remain look dingy. —-Pools. Constant maintenance. Only get sun for 3 months out of the year (April-June) —-Plants. All plants that die are not replaced. Used to be palm trees and actually felt like luxury. —-Community Internet. Only works in the gym, doesn’t work by pool or on rooftop. —-Fireplaces in courtyards have never worked and still don’t. —-Package delivery. Office sometimes doesn’t let you know you have a package until days later. In the end, if you are looking for a short 1 year stay and don’t care much about the amenities, Vantage is fine. If you plan to stay long-ish term and / or are factoring all the amenities into the rent price, there’s newer better buildings at this price point.
The Vantage at Hollywood Hills has the most amazing staff! If anything needs fixing they fix it in a New York Minute. There are dogs of all sizes and breeds. The sign outside proudly announces "We Speak Woof" and they do! There's even a dog run for play dates. The neighborhood is safe and only two blocks from the Hollywood action. Great Apartments. Great Neighbors. Great Neighborhood and a Phenomenal Staff. It doesn't get any better than that!
I've been living here for a year now and I LOVE IT! It's a LUXURIOUS BUILDING so rent is a little pricy but it's totally worth it! If you get a fully renovated apartment (like mine) it includes washer/dryer, a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and stainless steel appliances for your kitchen. If you get a non fully renovated one the price is a little lower and it's still awesome. SUPER PET FRIENDLY. The building has laundry facilities for those who don't have a washer/dryer in the unit. Apartments come with one parking spot in the garage included and OMG the amenities!! 24 Hour fitness center. 2 pools. 2 hot tubs. A sun deck with a great view and grill. Dog run. and the courtyards are so pretty too.! The Maintenance people are super helpful and get back at you as soon as you tell them you have a problem. They're there to help you all the time and you can have your problem fixed right away. The people at the front desk are also very friendly and helpful! they receive your packages and are always willing to help and talk about anything you may need. Oh AND they always have little treats for your dogs and candy for yourself, coffee and water. The only thing this building is missing, in my opinion, is security cameras in the property. I do believe rent is high enough for them to be able to afford some cameras and make us feel a little safer.
This building is one of the best to live in, in all of the Los Angeles area. The location is the most prime in all of Hollywood with walking distance to EVERYTHING. When I first walked in people were very friendly, thats the first thing I noticed. The second thing that caught my eye on my way up to my apartment is the small patio before the main elevators. That area was very clean and nicely done, and the pool and jacuzzi are absolutely phenomenal. The rooftop is also to die for, with an amazing view of LA. My apartment itself is gorgeous. Great lighting, amazing view of Hollywood Blvd, spacious, and it is just a great place to call home. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to live in the best apartment in Hollywood for a very reasonable price.
The Vantage apartments are an incredible set of apartments. The rooms are beautiful and so are the courtyard areas. Also the roof is a great place to spend some free time with a stunning view of the city and a nice grill. The staff that works at the Vantage are all friendly and genuine people including the maintenance staff who are always quick and efficient with repairs. Also a great place if you are a dog owner. There is a back area of the building that dog owners can take their dog companions to socialize and get some sun. Not to mention the apartment itself is located near the popular Hollywood hiking spot Runyon Canyon which is great to have so close so you can escape the clutches of the nonstop city vibe. There is parking provided as well as a 24 hour gym which can come in handy when your on a tight schedule. Lastly one of the perks of living at The Vantage is that it is very near to Hollywood walk of fame where there is always a great number of people and a very happening night life. Although it maybe close it's not too close so that at the end of the day you won't feel like you are engulfed in all the madness that's constantly unfolding on the boulevard. I feel that overall The Vantage apartments are the perfect place to be to experience the best of both worlds while living in Los Angeles!
