Property Ratings at Vantage Point Condominiums
Apartment complex is old and run down so many things such as faucets and outlets have been neglected. We’ve had a leak under every sink and faucet since we’ve moved in. Maintenance is in no rush to fix the issue they could be unstaffed or simply don’t care. Almost everytime I leave or come home from work cops are lined up because neighbors are crazy. Office staff doesn’t seem to care very nonchalant about issues because they don’t live here so be prepared with dealing with any issue you run into.
I had many chances to interact with the maintenance guy at this place but there are 2 incidents that stood out. My water heater broke at one point and it took the maintenance guy MONTHS AND MONTHS to actually fix it. There was one time he came in, did NOTHING, told the office there was no problem at all. At one point he replaced the water heater with what he claimed to be a brand new water heater, it absolutely was not (not that I care, I just needed it to work, but it didn't). AND THEN THERE IS THIS MOLD PROBLEM which force me write a review for the first time in my life. It's not because of the problem itself, which was fixed promptly. It was because of the person who came to inspected at first (the same guy who took several months to fix the water heater). IMPORTANT NOTE RENTER BEWARE: when you see visible mold, get a mold test kit and test it out BEFORE telling maintenance, it will take at least 2 days, record everything too. They will always try to tell you it's mildew and try to wipe it off of the surface, you will loose the chance to test it and the mold is still there in the walls. Anyway, back to this maintenance guy who came in with a moisture reader that he WAVED AROUND IN THE AIR to test the moisture in the walls (for the people who don’t know, you have to press the reader against the wall). After he WAVED IT AROUND under the sink, he was so adamant that’s there are no mold because this is a "MOLD READER" and it’s showing nothing. I even asked him what if I take a sample to test it and it grows? (I didn’t tell him I already tested it). He immediately said go ahead, and then tell the other guy to come wipe it off latter. I eventually told the other guy who came back to wipe the walls that I already tested that area and it’s mold for sure, he eventually used the same moisture reader and read the walls and floor CORRECTLY THIS TIME, there was indeed A LOT of moisture. I and him went directly to the office right after and I talked directly with the manager and we tested all the walls. Make no mistake, if I was a person who haven't had any experiences with mold and don’t know how the reader works, this guy would have successfully tricked me into living with it. This guy has no regard for my health, all he wanted was to avoid doing anything about the problem. The problem was dealt with promptly but this left a really bitter taste in my mouth. I just feel like I need to let people know my experiences so you guys can avoid it.
They are lucky they are located in FL or the star rating would be much lower. This apartment is average for the state. Pros: Good Location, Prompt Maintenance, Good Office Staff Cons: Roaches, Over-Priced, Only One Entrance/Exit Onto Busy Street
I've been renting apartments for decades in Florida and in other states. This is the most I've had to pay per square foot and the most rundown and poorly managed. Make sure you look at the actual unit you are renting before paying them the $800 deposit. Your condo will look nothing like the model. Expect for appliances to start breaking as soon as you move in. You can leave messages and emails with the condo managers and never hear back. It takes weeks to get things repaired. Expect roaches. It's such a shame, because this is a quiet community in a good location.
The management team are supposed to be in office 9-5 but they arrive late and leave early most days. It also takes about 2-3 weeks to get a reply from them. They NEVER answer the phone, been living here for almost two years and I maybe give them a call once a week and never get an answer ALWAYS The voice mail and sometimes they never get back to you.
Visiting a friend and was completely impressed. Very friendly people walking around. Rent was pretty impressive from what he has. EXCELLENT for that area. I've looked.
DO NOT BUY OR LEASE! Since we moved in, August 2017, we had a roach problem. At first I chalked it up to living in FL but then it got so bad I couldn’t even go into my kitchen without seeing them climbing EVERYWHERE! All over our dishes and food, worst of all, they were in our fridge! All day and night, we stopped eating at home for 3 months while they got them under control. We had a palmetto bug infestation too! I have one fall on me in the middle of the night.. DISGUSTING! We also had major mold issues in the Master Bed, bath, and closet. My wedding boots were ruined by mold! Irreplaceable! Not to mention the other countless items including our bed frame, several pairs of shoes, hats, sports decor, etc. I have never had a worst living experience in my life. Every time we brought something to their attention, it took them weeks to get it resolved. We have a 2 yo and a 5 month old (current ages) so safety was a big concern. They had these “contemporary” outlet covers and it didn’t hold the plastic safety covers. It took them two months to change them to covers that would hold the hold them. After all the issues we had, they took some money off of our pet deposit and let us out of lease 3 months early. We are currently moving all of our stuff out and found an ant pile behind our kids bed! We thought he was getting mosquito bites (really bad in this area due to mangroves being across the street) but now realize it was ants this ENTIRE TIME! If you have a family, this is NOT the place for you! Or maybe it’s just the bottom floor. We lived on the first floor in building 10.
I don’t even know where to start how this place has a 5 Star review blows my minds but here’s the truth on what to expect. My wife and I have lived here from almost a year and it’s been the worst experience ever. From the bug issues to the broken appliances that never get fixed and the mold in the walls. They call themselves luxury apartments yet my upgraded appliances never work and my bathtubs keep pealing cause all they do is paint over them.There is a huge raccoon problem if you leave your trash out for there valet trash the pest will get to it first and then your stuck cleaning up the mess. The location is nice but if you leave at anytime during the afternoon your going to wait a while because traffic is a nightmare. This is only the tip of the iceberg you’ve been warned so look somewhere else
We moved here almost a yr ago. The apt they show you as a model is very different, once you move in it's literally tearing apart, we have called the staff multiple times and their response is always "we are aware" and never do anything about it. Our front light hasn't been working for about two months now and "they are aware". Always have to be behind them for them to fix stuff. Front gates are always broken. Staff is not helpful at all and are very hard to reach.
over the phone Crystal told us the units had been remodeled and the appliances were new she said "yeah but i didnt say what year it was remodeled that could mean a few years ago also." before we went to see the unit my mother asked about roaches and if they had any bugs Crystal said " this is Florida there will always be roaches but as long as you keep your unit clean you wont have a problem" as we walked up the stairs there was cobwebs, dog poop, and dirt all over the stairs the front door was dirty and frame chipped as we enter the unit I asked if the apt was ready and if it was cleaned yet Crystal said yes we walked around the apt it was clearly not painted there was black lines on walls the baseboards were so dirty you could see it across the room the windows were so cloudy i could hardly see out and when I opened the window the window sills were black i rubbed my finger on the sill when i tried to wipe the dirt off my finger i could still see the dirt on my hand she said "it has been raining the past few days" (that dirt built up cannot happen in 1 day not even a MONTH) bathroom was dirty in the bathtub you could see black between the tiles, under the sink there was dirt and yellow water stains. The worst was the kitchen the cabinets had paint worn off under the microwave you could see dirty yellow grease when I pulled back the oven/stove there was MOLDED bread, french fries, crumbs, chip bags, candy and grocery bags I asked her "is this clean to you?" her exact words were "our maintenance staff is not insured to move appliances to clean back there" In the lease it states you need to keep your apt clean and in sanitary condition prevention of mold yet you are trying to have my mother move into a unit that is not only NOT clean or sanitary but you are giving her a unit that already has mold in it and the fact that you say "maintenance is not covered under insurance to move appliances" what happens when one of the appliances stops working? you are telling me your maintenance cant move appliances to fix them? which she replied to "actually its the cleaning people who are not under insurance to move appliances to clean there" we asked to have the things fixed in the unit then we will come back to look at it. when we came back Crystal said we can just go by ourselves because it was left open when we got there we once again walked through the apt to find the only thing done was the window (not the window sills) and the trash behind the oven was removed.
Do not rent from this place. No matter what they tell you there will be hidden conditions that cost you in the end.
When it comes to Apartment living with a staff that cares as much about its residents as they do the cleanliness of their community look no further than Kristy and Sarah at Vantage Point in St. Pete. Having bounced around from place to place only doing 1 year leases at a time because I never felt like it was home I came across Kristy at Vantage Point and been living there for the past 4 years with no intentions of moving. The amenities the pool and hot tub are some of the best features and the maintenance staff is quick to respond and gets the job done right the 1st time. After reading some of the reviews I chalk it up to some of the best movies got the worst reviews and that is the case here. I am telling you if you are looking for a place in St. Pete just save yourself the hassle and see Kristy or Sarah. Best decision I could have made.
I don't even know where to start. With the termites maybe? Getting kicked out of our apartment and then them leaving all our lights on and air conditioning on which was broken, resulting in a massive electric bill that we weren't paid for? Or our water being turned off without notice? They are never at the office, and are only available to be reached Monday-Friday from 10:00-5:30. Don't expect anyone to ever be there to help you. Any complaint you have they brush it off and treat you like it's your fault. I wish we never would have moved here. They will show you a nice apartment on the tour, but the one you move into will literally be falling apart. The owners and managers are lazy and scape by on doing the bare minimum. We have been treated incredibly poorly and pretty much like we are the scum of the earth. The rent is cheap for a reason. We learned that the hard way. This place isn't even worthy of one star.
I would like to say I have been here for 4 Years, I have had not one issue at all with the property manager is has always been fair with me and when ever I had an issue with maintenance they were right there in a timely manner and fixed my issue, tomorrow the 30th is my last day here and iam pretty bummed because it was a pleasure living here. The tenant's are very friendly the staff is ready to help it's just been a pleasure the upkeep on tge property is done great so your surroundings always look nice and hey when it comes to the office throwing a great party for the tenants they go all out. I just wish this place was in texas. Thank you
This property in setback from a main road that is centrally located close to Tampa, South Tampa, Clearwater, Seminole. Located in Saint Petersburg FL, near Weedon Island and 3/4 mile from the beach. Brick structure, with private patios, 1-2 bedrooms, gated community, beautifully landscaped, private ponds, gym, pool, Jacuzzi, business center, private mailbox. One of the best on site maintenance and management in the Tampa Bay area.
This place is a good place to live. There is some flaws like the traffic if you try to leave during rush hour traffic and not much storage at the apartment. Overall my experience was great and the management team is friendly.
