With a population of about 101,000, Las Cruces is the largest city in southern New Mexico -- but it doesn't feel that way. With its fantastic mountain views and spacious landscape, the city feels downright cozy. Las Cruces is a college town -- it is the location of New Mexico State University, the only land-grant university in the state. It is also the location of the White Sands Missile Range. Mountains surround Las Cruces, providing amazing views as well as opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
Due to its impressive landscape, Las Cruces is often used for filming. Some movies filmed here include Hang 'Em High, Twins, and Traffic. After moving to a Las Cruces apartment, be sure to attend some of the city's annual events, which include the Harvest Wine Festival, the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, the Southern New Mexico State Fair, CrucesCon, and Cowboy Days. Landmarks in Las Cruces include its water towers -- many are painted with murals.

I have lived here for about 4 years now and I have enjoyed it for the most part, but I do know most of the problems they do have mostly just comes with the lack of people employed. Now though they have been making better improvements in getting to work orders and keeping the complex clean.

The verge is perfect for NMSU students. Having access to in unit laundry and my own bathroom makes my busy schedule perfect. Also the pre-furnished rooms made moving easy and a no brainer coming from Garcia Hall.

These people transferred my daughter’s lease to another vacant room because they rented her apartment. They are making her honor her lease but now she cannot even get someone sublet. Bad business, stay away!!!!!

They talk a big talk and say you will have all this access to these amenities but the whole time I have lived here only the gym was open. The apartments are okay but if you hate a dirty complex or parties this is not the place for you. Majority of the weekends are consumed by loud music and raging parties which are then shut down by the cops. Gunshots also happen quite often. Along with the wifi going out like every other week. It’s not suited for someone in college who needs the wifi they promised. The verge will catfish you into thinking this is a great place to live and this it turns out to be one of the worst complexes ever.

I moved in as a student and stayed after graduation as a working professional. I honestly gotta say Verge is as convenient living as it gets. All the furniture I need, in-unit washer/dryer, almost too many amenities, and they'll even unclog your tub for you. Definitely wouldn't get as much out of renting a house, or anywhere else for that matter. Gotta recommend!

We LOVE hearing feedback like this! Thank you for taking the time to not only share your experience with us but recommend to others. The convenience of our apartments sure makes all the difference! Then when you top it off our fantastic amenities and apartment features, it's hard to beat! Thank you again - Management!
I have lived here for going on 5 years. All inclusive leasing package makes paying bills super easy. The office staff is super friendly and helpful. Walking distance from NMSU and close distance to restaurants etc.. Def would recommend to any one looking for a social and inviting community.
Managers are only available when convenient (never there on weekends) , pools usually closed, sketchy af at night (they literally have lights posted up because of it) , parties almost daily, the staff is extremely nice but will management will take advantage of you given the chance, a/c is almost non existant in the rooms so bring a fan. Not to mention it's located outside your building so expect to hear it all night. Water pressure is weak, trash compactor is just flat gross and is always overflowing.
I've been living here for almost a year our fridge has been broken since the day I moved in and it can't ever get fixed for long enough than a day before it breaks again. Staff is extremely unfriendly and rude after hours lady never lets the office know of problems so calling them is a waste of time they cut you off and yell at you anyway no matter how nice or polite your being. Constantly dirty outside trash everywhere from repair workers. Wifi is a lie it took me 4 months and two calls to the manager to get anyone to even look at it much less fix it.
What looks like a good deal from the start turns into a nightmare. Yes the whole place is nice, but there is more to what meets the eye. It seems like there are a lot if parties. Someone was shot in the apartment next to me. The place has a strong drug culture. The staff likes to go through your belongings during inspections. My door handle keeps falling off my door. My toilet doesn't flush unless I hold down the toilet little knob thing for about 40 seconds. The internet is pretty good. The gym equipment is okay but they do not have a lot. You cannot ever speak with the Manager Stephanie. I put in a work order for our washer and it took 12 days to fix. They sucker you in to a lease and have you over pay for a cheaply built unit just to charge you for what will inevitably break. Do not come here unless you like an ignorant staff and constant noise. I am an honors student and I am sorry for being snobby but I need a comfortable home not a party town where you might get shot. Come here if you like that stuff and you are not worried about a staff who cares when convenient for them.
The goods: It allows you to rent by room so your not responsible for the rest of the rent and it makes getting in easy. It has a great pool and free coffee which no where else offers. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They are pet friendly. The bad: They are run down apartment, though the replace the carpet, mattresses and blinds that seems to be it. My first month there my front door lock my dishwasher, toilet, and dryer all had to be repaired. This wasn't users error as we were barely living there at the time. The apartment complex can get load, more so on weekends when whiskey dicks gets out. Summary: It's a good first apartment, close to school, not too pricey and you get a lot of the dorm feel without having to share a bathroom.
