Midtown Baltimore encompasses a number of distinct urban neighborhoods in the heart of the city. Madison Park, Bolton Hill, Mid-Town Belvedere, and Mount Vernon all fall under the umbrella of the “Midtown” moniker. This bustling arts center is bolstered by the University at Baltimore and the Maryland Institute College of Art. After work or school, locals enjoy riding their bikes through Pearlstone Park, which is in walking distance of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Because of its walkability, you can easily access the plentiful bars and restaurants from your apartment. The Brewer’s Art brewpub has an excellent selection of homemade Belgian-style beers and fabulous food items. Whether it’s getting to work or class on time, residents are relieved they live so close to Interstate 83 and MTA stations for an easy commute.

Property Ratings at Vernon Homes
I've lived in this building for 3 years now, no complaints. For the most part, they're very responsive with maintenance. Very quiet building in a great spot. Def recommend!
I scheduled a tour with Mendy over the phone for a tour later in the week, and I was instructed to call him upon arrival. Day of, I call 3 times (leaving a voicemail) and sent an email just to get a reply back 3 days later asking what I'm looking for in an apartment. No apology or anything for leaving us standing outside in the cold in January. The phone number posted outside also leads to a maintenance line, not a leasing office. Imagine the kind of service you'd receive when you're actually renting from these people.
Cathedral Court has been a lovely home for the past 3 years -- I would stay longer but am moving out of town. My apartment is incredibly spacious with high ceilings, great closet space and tons of sunlight. All appliance are updated and I love my smart thermostat. The building itself has a wonderful new package locker system so that I can access at any time, along with the lovely secure courtyard. The location feels quite residential and it's very easy to find street parking. Management has truly gone above and beyond to make living here easy. Rob is incredibly attentive and for the rare maintenance issue, he and Sterling are very timely. It's also the first Baltimore apartment I've lived in that I haven't seen a cockroach!
I have lived in Baltimore for 5.5 years and this is the 5th place, and by far the best place, I've lived. I was frantically searching for a new place to live when I stumbled upon Cathedral Court. It checked all of the boxes. The age of the building gives it a ton of character. My favorite parts are my updated appliances, smart thermostat and the beautiful windows. I also love the diverse group of people that live in the building. Rob (property manager) is a great guy who is always available and working to accommodate all of the tenants needs (He's saved me from being locked out multiple times). Sterling is a great asset to the community and takes care of my maintenance needs in the speed of light. The location of Cathedral Court is great and I always feel super safe. I have lived here for a year and a half now and have no intention of leaving until I buy or leave Baltimore. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for an affordable apartment in a great location that you can be proud in which to live.
I've lived at Cathedral Court for a little over a year and am thoroughly enjoying my time here. The Property Manager, Rob, is very accessible and responsive when it comes to tenant concerns. The courtyard is a great hangout spot and a wonderful way to meet your neighbors if that's your thing. My apartment itself is very spacious and comfortable, it's an older building, but my kitchen appliances are updated and it's very comfortable. I definitely recommend the building to folks I know moving into the city. Definitely plan on staying here for some time.
Cathedral Court has been a wonderful place to live! I agree with the other reviewers that Rob (the property managers) makes the difference. He is very flexible and responsive. My water heater leaked while I was out one night and I didn't even know. It was fixed before I even got home at the end of the night. It's in a good location in Mount Vernon, right around the corner from CVS and a small grocery store. Only complaint is street noise which would vary depending on where you live in the building. So sad to be leaving Cathedral Court, but only because I am moving to Canton.
Not unless you want to live with silverfish, centipedes and other bugs, breathing in toxic fumes when maintenance refinishes the bathtubs in vacant apartments( there is no ventilation in this building), dryers that blow hot damp air into tiny confined spaces (again no ventilation in the apartments)creating the perfect conditions for mold and mildew, leaking ac units, windows that leak every time there's a heavy rain (again creating the perfect opportunity for mold growth), work orders that take an entire month before they even start working on them then take an even longer time to complete, and an unprofessional and condescending property manager who emails you at 3:00 AM just to minimize your concerns and convince you that he has an infinite amount of time and attempts to properly address and resolve them and that you the tenant should just shut up and deal with it. This building has about 50 or so units in it, I've lived in a community with over 230 units and still work orders were started and completed within 24-48 hours after submission.( maybe the owner should invest all of the money he makes off his tenants into hiring more maintenance staff instead of trying to fool people with pretty colors and shiny new appliances). As of today, 8/31/18 the work order I put in on 5/26/18 is still not completed and my windows are still not fixed so every time there is a heavy rain it gets into the apartment. For 3 months now I've had to live with water coming in my windows during a heavy rain and each time I complained I was given an unsatisfactory answer about when I could expect them to be fixed and how long until the water stopped coming in. As property managers/owners they expect their rent to be paid on time every month or they will take you to court so as a tenant you expect when something is broken or not functioning properly for it to be fixed in an appropriate amount of time without you having to constantly email them or having to take photos or videos every time something occurs. I will be moving out soon because of their inability to fix the windows in over 3 months and already I see my apartment is back on the market but I wonder how can that be when the windows are still not fixed yet. Please do yourself a favor and do not move here if you do and you are the unlucky one to rent my old unit then I truly feel sorry for you.
Good experience overall. Lots of good changes throughout the year; renovations, change in management, repairs... I recommend to all.
I lived at 900 Cathedral St for about 6 years. I reluctantly moved out this summer due to a work transfer. While it is an older building it has tons of character in the best way; my apartment was spacious, had high ceilings and tons of natural light. But what truly made this building so warm was Rob (the building manager) and the maintenance staff. When I first moved into the building under a different manager I was not impressed and occasionally even frustrated. As soon as Rob took over the building, things got efficient, maintenance request got handled and communication improved. Most importantly, I have a sister with a disability who lived with me and the entire staff was so kind and caring. This personal touch extended to the Mt Vernon Pharmacy staff which is located in the building. Everyone went out of their way to look out for her and made us feel like part of a community. The entire staff also made a stressful move a breeze. The building is also in a great location--near tons of dining options and a quick stroll to the Washington Monument. I loved my time in Mt Vernon. During festivals I never had to use a porta potty bc they happened right around the corner and yet the building is situated on a quiet side street from the action of Charles St. A true charming building in charm city!
Cathedral Court has been an extremely comfortable place to live for the past 2 years. The entire management team has been friendly, helpful, and responsive to any questions or requests I have had. Rent is reasonably priced and updates to the building are endless. The location is in a safe, quiet area close to several bus stops, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Cathedral Court is great option for anyone residing in Baltimore, especially those who rely on transportation and wish to be close to main attractions.
