Less than 20 miles east of Phoenix, the city of Mesa is Arizona’s third-largest city and is home to nearly half a million residents. The low cost of living, affordable apartments, and family-friendly environment make Mesa a highly sought-after suburb in Arizona’s suburban desert. Although Mesa sits within a short distance of Phoenix – making it the ideal location for commuters – many residents work inside the city of Mesa itself for local employers in the medical, aerospace, and retail industries.
Mesa locals take advantage of the city’s constant sunshine, whether they’re catching a Cactus League ball game at Hohokam Stadium or tubing down the Salt River. The surrounding desert landscape is extremely popular with mountain bikers, hikers, and campers. The scenery is truly unbeatable, especially in the sprawling Tonto National Forest to the northeast.
This town is rather quiet, with a focus on community and local history, rather than a bustling nightlife scene.

Property Ratings at Verona Park
Roaches They have sprayed a few times and still roaches dog poo everywhere, drug users as neighbors police are constantly here, management NEVER answers their phone or calls you back suspicious maintenance men, maintenance request never get answered, literally had mold in my apartment and nothing was done do not move here
If you like dirty, junky, dish washers that don't work, cops being called every night, RANDOM DAMAGE CHARGES WHEN YOU MOVE OUT without notice, cramped spaces, sketchy people around you, terrible management, maintenance that breaks your sunroof on your car and then doesn't take responsibility for it (this can even happen while you were in your car), green pools, and dog poop everywhere then this is the place for you. It's not even cheap for the terrible quality of apartment. It's worth your while to look somewhere else for a little extra money.
Troy and Christy were great! I had a lot of questions about move in, and they answered all of them. Every time I have a question now, they're always available to help out. Verona park is beautiful. And everything is close by. Including schools. Short drive to Tempe and Phoenix.

Thank you for highlighting all the wonderful benefits of living at Verona Park! We are pleased to hear that our team has been helpful from day one. We look forward to continuing to exceed your expectations for the entirety of your stay.
It is so quiet here. I love the layout of my 1bdr (and the 2bdr here when I first moved in). Staff is always helpful. Service calls are quick to be resolved. Zero issues with pests. I love Verona Park.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in our community. We are proud to offer the best in apartment living to our residents and look forward to continuing to do the same for you!
Absolutely awful. We moved to get away from awful management and moved into even worse. If I could give 0 I would. Even with the company and management change. In the two months that we have lived here, we have had nothing but problems. We got our keys later than the date we paid for without any notice because the apartment wasn't ready. You pay for an "upgraded" apartment when all you get is some repainted cabinets and cheap, poorly installed laminate floors. Half of our appliances weren't hooked up at move-in. The apartment was absolutely filthy and had equipment still in it. Our apartment wasn't wired properly for wifi so we were without internet for a week and had to pay Cox to come out and fix it. Then about a month in our entire apt flooded from faulty plumbing upstairs. It took us four tries to get ahold of emergency maintenance (it happened at midnight on a Friday) and when we did, we were left with a quarter-inch of water in our apartment overnight. Management did not get around to assessing anything until 5 pm on the following Monday. We were out a bedroom and bathroom for about a month, with no compensation because they were "legally doing everything they had to". They have entered as early as 7:45 in the morning with no notice and as late as 5:30 pm. They don't have pet receptacles hardly anywhere on the property so dog poop is everywhere. The pool is filthy and poorly maintained. The only good thing about this place is we got new appliances at move in and it is relatively quiet. Save your money and your breath. Don't move here. You can get a MUCH better apartment for the same amount of money, if not less, pretty much everywhere else.
This place has a lot of SCORPIONS and roaches. I insure you that it was a huge nightmare. I will not live there if I was you. Amenities a really old and they are really expensive for no reason. All they care about is your money.

Been living here for 8 months...and have found and killed 6 scorpions. I have found them from the living room, to the kitchen, and even the bedroom just today!! Management has been notified several times, and nothing is ever done. Their pest control does not help. They do not seem to care. Do not tell me it's just "part of living in Arizona" when this has never been a problem with any other property before. They care more about the outside of the units, than the safety of their tenants that are living within them. This is a problem that needs to be addressed!! It is ongoing with multiple residents. That is just the tip of the iceberg. If I could give it 0 stars I would.
My wife and I lived their for 1 year and finally moved out. We actually moved before our lease was up because we did not want to deal with management any more. Within 1 year they went through an entire management team because nothing was getting done. Our Dish Washer took them a month to replace. We had terrible cockroaches and asked to get sprayed every week; they only sprayed once in 6 months even though they told me every week they would spray this coming Thursday. I know they never did as we had cameras in our apartment. They tell you that no one can smoke in their apartments, but people do and management does nothing about it. The lease agreement actually states that management has the right to change their smoke policy any time they want on a per person basis. They tried to fine us because we had a grill on our porch that we were not even using (they considered it clutter). Most people have their patios full of random junk and we got tagged for a nice looking grill that we never even used. In the lease it says that you cannot use a grill within 15 feet (i think) of the building. We honestly loved the look of the apartments, but could not stand management as they constantly lied to us. The only nice person in management got fired about half way through our year lease. I normally don't write reviews but I wanted to warn anyone from renting at this place.
These are nice apartments. There is however a huge scorpion issue. The pool is out of service about 3 days a month. The fountain in front of my apt gets green and yucky a lot. They made us get washers and dryers and I was not happy about that at all. They raised the rent along with having to pay more electric and water. We also had to pay for the electric during the week they did all the construction. The took out well over half of the walk in closet in the Master Bedroom for the washer and dryer and now I have not storage. I will be leaving when my lease is up
Beautiful landscape that's cleaned every Thursday. They just installed washer and dryers in all the units that are great they are full size stackable. I have a 1 bedroom here awesome tall ceilings. Rent is decent here I pay 730 and i have a pet. The pet depost was 300 non refundable as well. All in all great place friendly staff I would recommend it to my friends and Apartments.com
I give Verona Park 3 stars because on one side they have great staff, they have come through by putting a washer/dryer as they said, the location is great, the apartment is alright and I feel safe. The only problems I have are that there is no option to have a non-smoking building so everything in our apartment smells like cigarette smoke. The automatic payment system isn't the best as it charges $5 for every payment. There are many little things in the apartment that I also think could be better but overall contrary to what others have said I actually like our apartment and might even extend our contract there.
More barking dogs than people here. Total disregard for noise. Dogs bark all day and management does nothing to stop it. I am leaving before my lease is up to get away from this dump.
I have lived here a few months and for the most part can't complain much. There are issues but it truly doesn't get better than watching the sun set in Verona Park. It is very quiet at night(despite the 60 right next to us) and kids playing on the playground during the day. I can't hear the neighbors through the wall which is rare. The grounds are very well kept, I see maintenance picking up garbage daily around the parking lot, the grass is always cut, the cement walls and gates surrounding us make it very safe. The neighborhood is one of the best in Mesa. Now... Maintenance... Hit and miss... When my hot water heater broke at 3 am and was pouring out water I called the emergency maintenance line and saw a guy sprinting across the complex toward us to turn off the water. He was here within 120 seconds to fix it! I was shocked. That is awesome service! BUT I have also been waiting over a month for them to fix my dishwasher so it isn't all perfect. I have only seen one scorpion and many black widows but it comes with the beautiful landscape and Verona park pays for our pest control inside and out. They come spray my apartment as often as I want as much as weekly! I'm very happy here. The a/c is pricy but my vaulted ceilings are well worth it!
Where to begin with Verona Park.... When I first arrived in my "new" apartment, it reached of pot smoke, the ceilings where stained black with the before mentioned smoke. It took management 3 days after mentioning this to have any action. 2nd If you go for one of the un -renovated apartments, be prepared to deal with sagging tiled bathrooms, poor grouting on the floor tile to such a point that the tiles are popping up in places, and unsealed fixtures that gather massive black collections of mold. 3rd, don't believe a word they tell you when you are told that water and trash are included on rent for an extra 50 monthly, the will charge you and extra $200 for these utility when you leave. Next you find once you've moved out, unpronounced to you, they will re- paint the place, and shampoo the carpets, at your expense, adding another $100 to your bill. 4th. Don't even trust the washers and dryers in the community, they don't have security cameras, so don't be surprised when you realize some one has been pooping in the washing machine (I learned this lesson a little to late). 5th.The management has no regard for their tenants, often they are impossible to get a hold of, and even when you do, the chances are slim to none that they will listen or take note of anything being said. I've seen McDonald being better managed then this. the only thing I can say positive about the place is that it is quite, depending on where you are, but that might be because everyone is a little to terrified to be outside.
