Quirky, artistic, and never boring, Fremont is one of Seattle's most-loved neighborhoods. Residents call it the "Center of the Known Universe" and if you are looking for apartments in Fremont, it may quickly become the center of your universe. Be prepared for the unique art scattered through the neighborhood. You're likely to see everything from a statue of Vladimir Lenin to a troll crushing a Volkswagen Beetle. The troll (of course ) sits under a bridge and was sculpted by four local artists in 1990.
Fremont is located along the north side of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, directly across from Seattle Pacific University. Woodland Park, home of the Woodland Park Zoo, borders the northern edge of the neighborhood. The University of Washington is a few minutes east of Fremont. This colorful, trendy, bohemian neighborhood is about four miles north of Downtown Seattle.

Property Ratings at Vibe Apartments
The unit I rented has nice appliances and fits squarely into what I'd call a luxury apartment. The building is in a pretty good location. It's walkable to all the normal things you'd expect from a city including good bars, coffee shops, a grocery store, and the Burke Gillman Trail which runs along the water out to Gasworks Park. Also, the building's rooftop is awesome. Now onto the negatives. This building sees routine break-ins, which the management is aware of, and yet nothing is being done to secure the building. The most recent break-in happened a few months ago and resulted in me having several hundred dollars worth of packages stolen from the lobby (the building does not have a proper package room so all packages are placed in the lobby). The culprit was caught on camera and was easily identifiable. The building manager refused to file a police report on this incident despite this evidence he had saying "there's nothing the police would be able to do". I was not offered compensation for the stolen packages and I was informed by the building manager that the building owner(s) have refused to take any steps to secure the building. This would have involved investing in a package locker or a proper package room, or even leaving packages in the stairwell which adds an additional keyfob barrier. It should be noted that the trash room is more secure than where packages are kept (2 separate keyfob doors protect the trash room vs 1 protecting the lobby). What's worse is that the building manager never sent out correspondence to all the residents about the most recent break-in. The only reason I found out about it was because I reached out to him after failing to find my packages in the lobby, so it's unclear the total number of break-ins we've had. The incompetence of building management and their failure to take responsibility for security matters in the building is the largest driving factor for me deciding to move elsewhere. Another consideration about this building is the parking situation. The building has a tiny parking garage and most residents have to street park. On the bright side, a Seattle street parking permit is only around $60 for two years, but finding a parking spot on the street is a hassle. This area is very popular with very few parking garages so it's not uncommon for me to be forced to park multiple blocks away from my apartment, especially when coming home on a Friday/Saturday night.
I lived at Vibe for about 1 and half years. It was fun and nice. Property management is nice and responding. Jessica is easy to chat with and helpful. I liked this place. Neighbors are nice and friendly. Property is always kept very clean and tidy.
I moved to the Vibe a little over a year ago. There is no pet rent (yay) and I wanted to get a dog. I live in a studio with a pleasant layout, it has high ceilings to give the feeling of more space. My unit has blonde vinyl wood flooring which is lovely. Unit maintenance issues are dealt with promptly. Appliances include full w/d that stack. The neighborhood is a mix of businesses and various housing. There are a lot of friendly folks in the building and in the neighborhood. The location is very good and is close to bus lines and has nearby Zipcars to rent. I usually feel safe even walking the dog at night. But property crime is rampant in Seattle. A lot of extra security measures have been put into place at the Vibe and still occasionally people get in that are not supposed to. Despite how lovely the flooring is it is textured and hard to keep clean plus it scratches somewhat easily. The bathroom does not provide a hand towel fixture and the tub/shower insert is completely smooth with no grab bars or ledges other than the tub ring to store shampoo or soap. Overall I have enjoyed living here and would recommend it to a friend.
The Vibe is a sparkly new building in the heart of Fremont. It's a very hip neighborhood where you can walk to clubs, restaurants, shops, and PCC. On Sundays, you can enjoy the Fremont market. And of course, there are annual festivities like the Solstice Parade and Oktoberfest. You can watch the Lake Union fireworks from the rooftop on the 4th. The bus stops for downtown and Ballard are both a few steps away. You are literally in the center of the action, and you don't need a car. The manager, Jessica, is very professional, thoughtful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Since it's a new building, I haven't really had any issues, but the two times I have called she or Monica responded promptly. Unlike other places I've lived, the management team doesn't try to insert themselves into their tenants' personal lives with stupid cake socials or taking sides in roommate disputes. They provide snacks and refreshments for the Solstice Parade, and extra security during events. The apartments have laminate flooring (which is awesome because carpet is always gross), sturdy cabinetry, quartz countertops, and washer-dryers. I've never heard my neighbors through the walls, but occasionally hear the people upstairs (especially when they wear shoes). The design is modern and neat. There have been a few breakin attempts, but as far as I know, nobody has gotten into the apartments. Packages and bikes have been stolen, but Jessica installed cameras, barriers, and security locks as deterrents. She always follows up with email reminders to us that we shouldn't let people we don't know into the building. You could get a mailbox at the UPS Store down the street and keep your bike in your apartment. This just comes from city life, and you'll have these problems in any urban building without a 24/7 doorman (for which you have to pay through the nose). For the most part, the building is fairly quiet. There are no loud parties and the quiet hours are strictly enforced. There is of course some noise from the clubs on Fridays and Saturdays and during festivals, which one should expect when living in the Center of the Universe. But I'm a light sleeper and don't have a problem unless there's a festival. If you want complete peace, move back to the 'burbs and spend half your days commuting.
I have lived in VIBE apartments for a year and cannot say enough good things. Unlike some of the other reviews on this site, I've found the property management team to be extremely responsive, almost always getting back to me in a matter of hours. Whenever I've needed something fixed, it has happened that day or the next. Common areas (hallways, courtyards, rooftop lounge) and even private spaces (patios, gardens) are kept impeccably clean by the staff. This building is very pet friendly, so that is no small feat. There have been a few other break-ins in this building, however, that is a risk that you run when living in a city. It has happened to me at every apartment building I've lived in Seattle. This building in particular has done a great job of alerting and sending security photos to residents when such break-ins occur. I am a woman who lives alone and have never felt unsafe here.
Prettty sure that any 5 star review is fake and written by property management. I can hear my neighbors phone ring when its on vibrate/silent. The walls are like rice paper. I can hear all the dogs barking. The street noise is insane. What a joke. I concur with the ineptness of Jessica and the property management style of avoiding responsibility.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and giving us the opportunity to address some of your concerns. All posts made on Apartments.com are screened by their team, and will not post fake reviews. Vibe Fremont was built in 2015 with high quality materials and the majority of our residents enjoy all aspects of the building and living at their community. The amazing thing about our building is that we are walking distance to all the best bars & restaurants but with this convenience, their is noise created by local businesses that is out of our control. We fully support our staff and their decisions in handling difficult situations. We’d love for the opportunity to speak with you, and what we could do better in preventing future frustrations. Great looking modern units in Fremont. Super quiet units, never heard the neighbors and the open modern floor plan is fun. Jessica was a pleasure to work with. Love sitting on the roof around the fire BBQing in the summer.
The building is very poorly made for the price point. It also seems to cater the the what seems like non leasable retail space over tenants. And if you have a problem, management doesn't care. I've never seen anyone avoid problem solving with condescending emails like this. Tenant turnover is very high, less than a year until we didn't recognize anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and giving us the opportunity to address some of your concerns. Vibe Fremont was built in 2015 with high quality materials. The majority of our residents enjoy all aspects of the building and living at their community. The Retail Space at Vibe has been leased and under construction for some time, a gym/fitness operating will be opening in the coming months. Your feedback is important and we’re available anytime to discuss further, feel free to call our main office at 206.284.0867.
Do not live here. The building is sweltering in the summer. The irrigation system has flooded apartments. The dumpsters are always overflowing and filthy. There are transient people that linger outside and several break in attempts to the garage and stolen bicycles. The property management is shady and generally unresponsive "This is your problem". The main point of contact for property management, Jessica, is completely inept at interpersonal relations, often aggressive with tenants, and has no previous experience with property management. I wouldn't even wish this apartment experience on trump supporters.
