Property Ratings at Victoria Park and V2 Apartments
I have a list of complaints about this building but the biggest one for me is personal safety. The amount of theft that has taken place since I moved into this building a year ago is astonishing especially since a lot of it has taken place from the theoretically secure garage. I myself have had about $3,000 worth of things stolen with nothing more than a week I'm sorry from management. I know for a fact within the last year there have been cars stolen directly out of the garage, along with bicycles and motorcycles. Yet for some reason management seems completely unwilling to install security cameras or hire a security guard. My lease is up in 3 months and I cannot get out of this place fast enough.
I don't know if I have ever left a review before, but i just had too with how bad this place has gotten. The service here is terrible, I have experienced theft out of the "secure storage area" that was deadbolted shut. The complex served no help even with cameras. They pawned off the issue immediately without even looking into it both times. Dog crap everywhere, even inside the building sometimes? We have lived here 5 years and each year it has gotten worse. It finally got so bad we would rather move during a pandemic then renew our lease.
This is the first apartment I've ever leased, and I will say it has some lovely qualities. I live in V2 so the newest of the buildings, the amenities are nice, the management staff is present, and the maintenance guys are very nice and prompt. However, for the amount of money we pay to live here, there have been a few things that have bothered me. Theft has been a consistent issue, whether from cars parked in the parking lot, from garage spaces and storage units in the garage, to the wheels being stolen off my car when it was sitting in the parking lot overnight. Management has taken note, but I have to be honest I feel a little less safe here than I would like to. For a building of this expense, security cameras and security guards should be the rule and not the exception. Overall for the money, the amenities are fine and frankly expected, but at the end of my lease I will be moving.
I do not recommend this apartment complex. It is very poorly managed and although the building we are in was "renovated" within the past two years, it's already falling apart. They also gouge you with "add on" costs wherever possible. The biggest problem is that we were essentially conned into a 16 month lease. We spent 2 hours with a leasing person looking at units and talking through prices. The price she repeatedly quoted was for a 12 month lease. It wasn't until we were completing the apartment paperwork and providing our financial and personal information that she gave us the terms that said we were signing up for a 16 month lease. When we asked about this, she said, "oh, the price advertised on the website is for a 16 month lease...I can go check the price of a 12 month lease, but it will cost more". Pretty sure this is called "bait and switch" combined with false advertising, and this is ILLEGAL. At that point, we had already completed most of the paper work and were excited about the place, so even though this didn't feel right, we went through with it. They took advantage of the fact we were excited, then switched the price at the last minute. Psychologically, people tend to make poor financial choices when they are anything other than calm (this includes both sides of the spectrum - from happy to angry). Now we are stuck in a 16 month lease, and the apartment is literally falling apart around us. Overall, the rent price is RIDICULOUS considering the (lack of) quality. I am counting the months until we can get out of this place. Don't be fooled by the common spaces - they may look nice, but the actual apartments are terrible.
This is the first apartment my husband and I applied at, and I’m honestly glad we got denied. For being a newer building it looks very unkept and cheap. The carpets looked very worn and dirty, there were stains on the carpets in the halls and stairs, and the communication is seriously lacking. We applied about two and a half weeks ago, got denied almost a week later (we were understanding of that because of the holiday weekend), were told they would send an email explaining why and never got one, the office apparently knows nothing about it and couldn’t tell us, we were told our deposit would be mailed out that Wednesday to be returned to us and still haven’t gotten that, and they still haven’t gotten back to us. We ended up signing a lease in Woodbury for less rent, much bigger and cleaner space, and a very responsive office staff. We were approved and lease signed and everything within a matter of THREE DAYS. I can only imagine what it would be like to live at Victoria Park if there are ever any maintenance issues or anything. Not to mention when we filled out the application the rent online was over $200 more than what we were told, and they said it would be corrected and to continue with applying. After reading other reviews I have a feeling they would have been dragging their feet to correct that issue. Things really do work out for the best because I’m so glad we didn’t end up moving here.

Hello, and thank you for sharing your feedback with Victoria Park Apartments. We sincerely apologize our team was unable to ensure your satisfaction during the application process. We want to assure you we have reviewed the concerns you have brought to our attention, and our team is working diligently to completely address and resolve these concerns.
Victoria Park Apartments are a joke. The apartments are very modernized which is great. When it comes to the utilities, not so great. The dishwasher has to be the cheapest one available on the market. It basically just sprays water on the dishes and somehow makes them come out even dirtier. We are to the point of cleaning everything by hand now. The lighting in the rooms is horrible. You will need to spend money on extra lamps to have in your apartment if you intend on seeing anything past sunset. Lastly the "Cyber Lounge" has a radius of about 5 feet from wherever the router is. My laptop alerts me that I cannot connect to their wi-fi connection because the signal is not strong enough. Complete joke of an amenity. Also the 2 dogs on the first floor of the main building bark 24 hours of the day which makes this place even more of a steal...
From the city living to nature atmosphere of living it has it all. First off it is close to downtown Saint Paul.. Secondly it is close to many paths along the river to run, walk, bike etc. a couple miles from the xcel energy center to go to concerts as well as many restaurants in the area. 5 minutes from grand avenue and 15 minutes from DT Minneapolis. As for inside the apartment there are many things I love about it! Big walk in closets and up to date new dark cabinetry. The tubs are deep and big and able to be put to good use. All stainless steel appliances as well as nice flooring in all of the apartment. Patios on all apartments and two sets of apartment buildings one for pets. Washers and dryers in each unit which is a major plus. Lastly all of the employees are nice and take the chance to get to know you. Any time you put in a work order you get a response back within the day and they come that day! Maureece is amazing. The lesson agents are very kind and go out of their way to get you information that you need. When it comes to packages they do not let them leave them out I. The open and will email you when you have a big package. They have an event each month for all of the residents such as pizza days, Carmel apple making, wine tastings and much more. They get everyone involved and truly treat you with such good care! I highly recommend this new apartment complex. Best apartments I have ever lived in!!
I'll provide my feedback as a current resident in my first year of my lease. 1) in the area that this new complex is located, there are at least 4-5 other apartments that do not charge for amenities that Victoria charges for. for example - in Lowertown, if you lease a 2bedroom, 95% of the places will give you at least 1 parking space for free as part of your lease. Victoria will make no such concession even though they have ample parking and most of their spaces are left empty. if you have a large vehicle, you will be crammed into a small space. I was even offered a handicap spot because it was bigger, even though I'm not handicapped and told I could use it until someone complains. obviously not the best idea and against the law so again lack of meeting the needs and more to punting for a resolution. same goes for the storage space, they charge you a monthly fee that is for the term of the lease vs the time you need it. Again, there are several apartments/condos within 2-3 miles of this location that give you these two items for FREE. so while you see a very low advertised rent price, it quickly gets increased each month by the 'charges' for everything that meet a residence needs in which case you might as well open up to the other complexes in the area for more robust set of amenities and services. 2) since they are a building that is about a year old, their staff is very new and they stick to the policies set forth by their ownership as a new building. however, when problems arise, vs using common sense and flexibility for the resident, they tend to lean on what 'corporate' policy is. I think this is because they are all very new to the complex and trying to still figure things out. Extra keys is an example, they only issue one key per unit and an extra key is very difficult to get without a lot of confusion and back and forth justification. same goes for an extra fob for the garage, very unnecessary cycles of something very simple. 3) amenities are minimal compared to other complexes. the pool is super small and 10 people in the pool area makes a crowd. the grill is supposed to be a community grill (the only one) and it has 2 chairs so really no one can use or share this amenity and they do not allow grills on the decks which again is very different from other providers very close to this place. the work out room is very small, again with 5 people in the space it gets crowded and other complexes that are very close have much better wo
Victoria Park Apartments are located in the West 7th neighborhood of St Paul. I have a ton of amenities here - underground heated parking, car wash bay, storage lockers, party room, pool, concierge desk to receive packages and a large roomy apartment to boot! I owned single family homes and townhouses for 30 years - it's time for me now to rent and let someone else take care of the maintenance.
What can I say besides I'll never need to move again! Victoria Park Apartments and Town Homes in St. Paul has everything I need: beautiful neighborhood, K - 12 school next door, pool, free yoga classes, car wash station, underground parking, wonderful staff and the facade / interior design of a hotel. The best part is the price is great! I highly recommend this family and pet friendly community. I'm never leaving!
Very glad my lease will be coming to end soon. Rates are over priced for the neighborhood. Construction near the apartments makes commuting anywhere a challenge. Building maintenance is lacking. Simple ongoing maintenance is lacking. IE: Dusting, Vacuuming, window washing, replacing burnt out light bulbs. Staff is overall un-engaged and ignores tenants. I've been in a tenant for more than year, and in the year they have never said so much as hi when walking by the front desk. Staff dresses very unprofessionally and appears they are going to the club rather than work. Many amenities committed when the building opened are just being delivered or are yet to be delivered. Inquires to the office are never responded to or go unaddressed.
Haven't even been at this apartment complex for a month and a half and completely regret not choosing another community instead. Will be moving out as soon my lease expires. They will nickel and dime you, charge for everything, even tried to overcharge me on rent which I had to have fixed. Although, getting anything taken care of by management is difficult since they never seem to be there during office hours and don't get back to you if you leave messages. The apartments themselves look nice but the quality is horrendous. Paper thin walls, neighbor's dogs constantly barking. Sure that cabinet looks nice, but grab the handle and it falls off. The maintenance team didn't even show up for my most recent appointment (some of which have included: broken ice machine, broken door handles, broken toilet, broken HVAC). Put in a work order 35 days ago for our HVAC system (it's extremely loud and wakes you up every hour or so at night when it gets running), yet it's been over a month and nobody's come to look at it or even addressed why it's taken so long. I'll stop myself here, but could go on for a lot of different reasons. Definitely looking forward to moving out and back into an apartment building that cares.
I moved in here when it was still under construction. Half the items that were supposed to be built weren't! There is no car wash area, dog park, etc. The pool is big enough for three people. Neighbors dogs excessively bark without repercussion and the apartment will charge you for everything. Can't wait for my lease to be up so I can move out! Yes, the apartments are new and nice, but the price and space is ridiculous. Save your money and go elsewhere- this place is a complete joke.
They have the right idea but way too expensive. looked very nice. to expensive for area.
Great views, average facility over all. Be interested to see how this complex rates in two years. Very impressive when first opened, However; very quickly going down hill. Staff puts on a good front to get units occupied. Once rented its an entire different story. Facility nickels and dimes tenants. Every amenity comes with a price. Pool looks impressive upon closed review should be classified as a kiddie pool Property manager is overall rude and disrespectful to her tennants. She's just to busy to be bothered
Got a chance to look at the beautiful new apartments. Very nice apartment layouts and appliances. Selling house so could not commit it this time.

Hi Mary6, Thank you for your review! I hope you will continue to consider Victoria Park Apartments for when your home sells...we would love to have you! Sincerely, Victoria Park Apartments
I moved in right when these apartments opened in February and I LOVE living here so far! The office staff is AWESOME and I have received great service from their maintenance/construction staff. Love the fitness center and coffee bar!
They are money hungry do not move here! They seem nice at first, but they are in it for the money, not for the renters experience.
