Property Ratings at Victorian Arms Apartments
At 475 for a 1 bedroom and 575 for a 2 you really get your money's worth for the location along Bridge Road. Staff is friendly, apartment large and area great. Issues are bugs seem to always find their way in, no dishwasher, few washers and dryers, and one parking-spot per apartment even if living in a 2 bedroom. For the price of the apartment and the area it is located it is worth it if you are on a budget. Been here awhile and very happy with my stay and don't see myself leaving anytime soon. Perfect place if you are just starting out.
Overall its not a bad place to live. The location is fantastic and can't be beat, especially for the price you're paying. Its close to downtown Charleston, but in a nice, safe part of town. However, as with any place there are some drawbacks. There isn't any washer or dryer hookups in the apartment, so you have to use the facilities in the basement which is fairly dirty and often times there's not enough washers and dryers to go around for everyone that wants to use them, especially on the weekends. Another drawback is the kitchen is VERY small and lacks a dishwasher, as someone who likes to cook this is a problem. I have also noticed during my first summer here that there is a slight bug problem and I've been told by neighbors experiencing the same issue that it's due to our air conditioning unit not being sealed/installed correctly but who knows. Overall, its not a horrible place to live. There is definitely better out there but when you consider other factors such as convenience, etc Victorian Arms is worth looking into.
